keepthefaith replied to KD in CA's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What comes to mind when you hear the word "conner"? Faster than a locomotive Staunch supporter of fringe liberal views Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound Look - it's a bird, it's a plane spewing big CO2 emissions No, it's Conner!!!!!!! Hooray!!! -
Good news. Now if they can just secure the border and crack down on all of the fraud and expense caused by illegals. Wait, isn't that the responsibility of the States now?

What a boring place this would be if we all blocked those we didn't agree with or found irritating. -

We Should let the Bush Tax cuts Expire
keepthefaith replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
WH wants $250K+ or so and up to get increase while others stay at Bush levels. It'll be very tough to get a divided Congress to agree on anything. The entire Fed tax code needs revision IMO. All income levels should pay Fed income tax, everyone needs to have skin in the game. I would not be opposed to paying a higher rate of taxation for a few years to help with defecit reduction but ONLY if the Fed makes big meaningful spending cuts that will allow for balanced budget and debt reduction. -
Al Franken voted in by illegal felons?

It should have never been close. It's a poor reflection on Minnesota voters that he was even a serious candidate. -

I know I'll get blasted here for responding politely to your post but I will do it anyway. Remember that Obama is just as white as he is black and depicting him as a witch doctor isn't racist unless you view it through a racist lense. That depiction was policy based not race based. It is you and others that see it as racist because you aren't able to view it based on the issue itself. I don't consider an article in any publication "an original source" compared to what somebody says directly in testimony or in an interview. I'm drawing my conclusion about the Black Panther case based on the tape of the incident, what Adams said about the Justice Department's decision to drop the case and the response by the Justice Department. I am not basing it on what some writer wrote about the incident. -
White House: "We are not anti-business"
keepthefaith replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If many businesses are shying away from hiring due to a lack of confidence that is caused by uncertainty and new government policies, then you have a problem. Consumer and business owner confidence are huge contributors to the economic climate and the White House would be wise to address that. Saying "we're not anti-business" is weak at best. -

I don't see Obama dressed as a witch doctor as a racist image. Disrespectful yes, but not on a racial basis. That depiction is intended to express the fear people had regarding health care rationing and govenment control of health care, but you probably don't see it that way. As for Adams, I've seen the tape of his testimony and his interview. He comes across very credible in his statements that the justice department is choosing not to pursue race related crimes where the white person is the victim. He made those statements at significant personal risk if he is lying. I've also listened to the Justice department's weak response claiming not enough evidence. We're all free to form ou own opinion, but my money is on Adams. He's simply more convincing especially after seeing the video and hearing the audio of the incident. -
Who needs credibility when you've got hope?
keepthefaith replied to Rob's House's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This really shows you how full of **** he is. When you make a statement that you won't do something that is of high visibility to a lot of people and then you turn around and do it, you are really showing a lack of respect toward those people. It's one thing if you explain yourself, but he won't and yes it's typical of politicians. -

NAACP accuses Tea Party of being racist
keepthefaith replied to WisconsinBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think these are relevant stories he's referenced. It's laughable that the NAACP has labeled the Tea Party movement as "racist" and the Justice department continues to duck the Black Panther case. What is clear, however, is that both the black and hispanic minorities continue to push for "special treatment". We won't begin to conquer the remaining race issues until we stop treating minorities differently. That means ending affirmative action and not giving preference to hispanic immigrants. It means telling everyone that is able to obey the laws and to sink of swim on their own. -

Obama now has a record on which he can be evaluated. You can look at the bills he's signed and the agenda that he's pushing and make a judgment. Not very rosey is it. -

One dimensional passive intellectual OR Terrible decision by majority of Americans to elect him -
Liberalism is founded in jealously, distrust and hate. It really is.

If the goal was to reduce unemployment with no regard for the debt it creates, then I would agree it was too small. A $5 trillion dollar "stimulus" would have allowed us to hire far more new government employees and gotten every idle union worker engaged in some kind of work. Heck, we could have put big rebates on everthing from food to flat screen TVs, not just clunkers.

NASA (Not About Space Anymore)
keepthefaith replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Some Muslims like to launch missles. My guess is that Obama sees a connection there with NASA who has a lot of experience in missile/rocket launching. Maybe we have our rocket scientists talk to their rocket scientists. -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
keepthefaith replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had it for about 12 years also. Didn't renew last year as I couldn't see myself devoting so many Sunday afternoons to the team and coaches that were the Bills last year. Nothing this off-season from this team makes me want to renew at any price. -
Obama's left shoulder is tight up against the left wall. No room for anyone to his left.

Nixon had a very good presidency before he decided to coverup the Watergate break-in. Compared to what politicians do today, Nixon looks like a Boy Scout.
