  1. Thanks for the link, the article makes some good points. It is hard to root against a win so that they can get a high draft pick but it unfortunately seems to be a reoccuring theme this time of the year. Given their draft track record, a higher pick would seem to inspire more confidence in choosing the right guy. It also would allow the opportunity to trade down for more picks. The Bills could certainly use an injection of talent on the team in LB, DL, and QB.
  2. To my Marine brothers - Happy Belated Birthday. To my fellow vets, have a great day! Go Air Force!
  3. I caught a discussion on NFL Networks about it this morning and I liked what they had to say about it. No player has the right to tell another player when he thinks it is time for him to quit. That is an individual decision and as long as he is in demand that decision belongs to that individual alone.
  4. I like this potential line up. Good young talent that will not break the bank.
  5. Kid looks like a player. Would be good to have a big hitter again on the team. Would he play outside?
  6. I like the idea of getting some extra picks to bring in talent. I am not sure though what Parrish's trade value is. If we can get draft a serviceable TE, I would not be surprised to see Parrish play a bigger role in the offense this year. With both TO and Evans, I think the underneath stuff will be a lot more open. Last year it was a lot of send Evans deep and throw to someone short who had 3-4 guys within 5 yards of them. If we can spread the field a bit more, it will allow a lot more slants or quick hitters.
  7. Seems like a hard hitter who creates some turnovers. He might make a nice 3rd or 4th rd pick up.
  8. Yup, read through it tonight. Pretty good info and player ratings.
  9. While I am all for drafting good D linemen I am not sure there is anyone I would consider for DT in the 20s. Who were you thinking of?
  10. I think the Bills will be taking a look at a RB in the 4th or 5th rd but if they take one any earlier than that, I will be seriously irritated! Aren't there still a couple of unsigned FAs out there that could help until the suspension is over? This team has too many pressing needs to focus on a RB early.
  11. I am not sure about Wood in the 2nd or if Coffman will be there in the 3rd. Will be interesting to see if we can get a time to value the 11th pick enough to put a good trade offer out there.
  12. I like the FB in the 7th. Heard he is a former LB who loves to hit. Would be nice to have a better yd/run average. I also like the choice of O linemen. Just need to get the Eagles to man up and take Peters off our hands.
  13. I agree. Saw a draft mag tonight that rated the overall DT class as a C+ with Raji being the lone DT worth a 1st rd look.
  14. I ws reading through the draft guides tonight and it ws surprising the lack of production of the some of the rookies from last year. Long, Dorsey, Gholston, and Harvey did not exactly dominate the league. I hope whomever we go after has big upside and will be able to help us more 2-3 years down the road. So much of it seems to be a crapshoot. You never know how a player is going to perform against better competition especially after signing a big rookie contract.
  15. Any idea if the Armed Forces Network will be carrying the draft this year? I caught it on there a few years ago when stationed overseas and I will be deploying in 2 weeks to Europe. Thanks!
  16. Just a quick hello to my fellow Blue-suiters and Bills Fans. Go Bills!
  17. I love the mock drafts and given the Bill's recent lack of success it seems like that is all that I seem to look forward to from about mid November to April. The problem is that it is very rare when the Bills actually make a move that most of the draft "experts" predict. How many had Whitner going to the Bills? I was married 3 years ago on draft day and I distinctly said "who?" after they took him with the #8 pick just I was going out for the ceremony. It was not someone that 95% of the experts had predicted. The point I am making is that everyone has an opinion and the Bills always seem to do something different than expected. For all I know, they could go for a QB this year even though I think they need a DE, LB, OG or TE!
  18. I hope that there is at least a beer in your hand while looking at the Mocks.
  19. I really hope Freeman continues to be talked about. Hopefully, the Jets, Bucs or Vikes might want to make a move up from the low teens to avoid "missing out".
  20. It was mentioned in several threads yesterday but here is a good summary of the potential demand for the Bill's draft pick as a result of the Cutler trade. It will be interesting to see what offers the Bills might have for their draft pick. I would love to get an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick as a result to help shore up several of the team needs. Here is the link: http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr.../wwhi040209.htm
  21. Sorry but I need to be shown that Cutler was not a benefit of the system first. Win in Chicago and then I will believe he is a premier talent.
  22. NFL Network previewed the Eagles yesterday and said that the Eagles are supposedly shopping their 2 picks to move up and add Crabtree as a primary target for McNabb. The 2 picks equate to about the 8th draft pick from the draft pick value chart and would be a nice acquisition for the Bills. Not to hijack a thread but would the 2 picks be worth passing on Crabtree if he were to fall to 11th?
  23. Plus if we do favor one LB over the others then we run the risk of losing him to some other team. What is an extra 500K or 1M in the overall scheme of things?
  24. I was thinking the same thing. I am surprised 1 or not both of them has signed. I would like to see a 1 or 2 year incentive based deal offered to them to help provide depth. That would provide improived depth and give us a bit more flexibility in the upcoming draft.
