  1. Assuming... Bush, Leinart, Williams, Ferguson, Hawk, are the "gimmies" to be gone before we pick... I'd say take Ngata. If he's there you do not pass him up. Bunkley is a workout wonder and we know what happens when you take those guys to high. I also still have flashbacks of the Cowboys massive OL pushing our DL off the ball 10 yards in the superbowls and I think that Ngata would prevent that more than Bunkley. If he's gone...forget about either line until rd 2. No one else on either side of the line is worth it at #8. I would be very satisfied with Vernon Davis (especially since Moulds will be gone), I can see alot of coverage sacks in the Bills future if Evans is the only consistent option. Others that I would not mind... Huff- although 8 is probably a little high for him. Talent wise he is not quite Sean Taylor or Roy Williams. You can usually get a decent safety in the later rounds. Jimmy Williams- May as well groom Nate's replacement now. We are only borrowing him this season. Cutler, Young, Leinart- If we are truly shopping JP, I would not mind any of these 3 QB's although I would prefer not giving up on JP that quickly. Or a trade down for Santonio Holmes, or Marcus McNeill. Would love to see the Bills end up with Nick Mangold or Eric Winston in the 2nd. We need a RB, & WR or TE in the 3rd assuming we don't address them with our first 2 picks.
  2. Obviously some posts are put up with the intention of getting a rise out of the board. Those of us who just love the Bills and just like talking football with others don't pay any attention to the negativity. Regardless of what most people post if they agree or disagree or just need to vent they will all be watching this team in '06 (or they are just fans of other teams pushing buttons).
  3. STERLINGTON, La. (AP) - LSU defensive end Claude Wroten Jr. was arrested on a drug charge after police stopped him for speeding and found marijuana in his car, authorities said Thursday. Wroten, 22, of Bastrop, was booked late Wednesday for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and was released on $3,000 bond from the Ouachita Correctional Center. He was clocked at 77 mph in a 65 mph zone, police Chief Barry Bonner said. Bonner said Wroten admitted having marijuana for personal consumption. Officers found one bag inside the car in plain view and discovered another tucked in his shoe. Wroten also had $4,000 in cash, which he said was a loan from his financial adviser to prepare for NFL training, the chief said. Police were unable to immediately contact the adviser, who's name was not released. With him admitting he had some for personal consumption I would think ESPN would have mentioned it. Although it's pretty ignorant to think that NFL players don't smoke weed. They talk about character issues with alot of the players... some of the others they do mention are... Marcus Vick QB VT Winston Justice OT USC A.J. Nicholson FSU OLB Anwar Phillips CB Penn State Dusty Dvoracek DT Oklahoma DeMario Minter CB Georgia Reuben Houston CB Georgia Tech Plus many others.. Wonder if Marv will take a chance on any of these guys (considering his "high character" desires) or if they will all play for the Cowboys this year?
  4. AFC SigningsNFC signings There now wasn't that easy!
  5. I looked to see if anyone was compared to Gates- Nope. I did miss a Bills comparison- TE Darcy Johnson from Central Florida compared to Tim Euhus as a 7th round prospect. I agree with you on the Gates analogy but maybe they thought Davis was more well rounded than Gates because of his blocking, or possibly that he is not as good of a receiver as Gates. There are alot of comparisions in the mag that I would disagree with.
  6. My wife just picked it up for me yesterday. With FA going on these are always a bit outdated before they even hit the stands. Mel Kiper has us taking Ngata in the Mock Draft. Like the Sporting News draft guide (which I have not seen out yet) they compare each prospect to an NFL counterpart. Something that made me laugh is they compared their 27 rated OT in the draft Mike Brisiel from Colorado State to Mike Gandy as a 7th ropund prospect (Ouch). Couple other noted comparisions along with their ESPN positional ranking (take them for what they are worth...nothing)...I tried finding all the Bills comparisions along with the folks at the top. QB Leinart -Tom Brady (1) Cutler- Favre (2) Young- Vick (3) RB Reggie Bush- Marshall Faulk (1) DeAngelo Williams- LaDainian Tomlinson (2) LenDale White- Jamal Lewis (3) WR Santonio Holmes- Lee Evans (1) Chad Jackson- Donte Stallworth (2) Sinorice Moss- Steve Smith (3) Derek Hagan- Torry Holt (4) Maurice Stovall- Plaxico Burress (5) TE Vernon Davis- Alge Crumpler (1) Leonard Pope- Jason Witten (2) Dominique Bird- Randy McMichael (3) Marcedes Lewis- Tony Gonzales (4) OT D'Brickashaw- Walter Jones (1) Winston Justice- Jordan Gross (2) Marcus McNeill- Jonathan Ogden (3) Eric Winston- John Tait (4) G Max Jean-Gilles- Shawn Andrews (1) Taitusi Lutui- Leonard Davis (2) Rob Sims- Chris Villarial (6) C Nick Mangold- Kevin Mawae (1) Greg Eslinger- Jeff Saturday (2) DT Haloti Ngata- Ted Washington (1) Gabe Watson- Grady Jackson (2) Claude Wroten- Tommie Harris (3) Must be before they founds the weed becauset they don't mention it at all. Broderick Bunkley- Rod Coleman (4) Rodrique Wright- Albert Haynesworth (5) DE Mario Williams- Julius Peppers (1) Mathias Kiwanuka- Jason Taylor (2) Tamba Hali- James Hall (3) ILB D'Qwell Jackson- Mike Peterson (1) OLB A.J Hawk- Takeo Spikes (1) Chad Greenway- Brian Simmons (2) Demeco Ryans- Daryl Smith (3) CB Jimmy Williams- Chris McAlister (1) Ashton Youboty- Nate Clements (2) Tye Hill- Fabian Washington (3) Antonio Cromartie- Charles Woodson (4) S Michael Huff- Ed Reed (1) Darnell Bing- Donovan Darius (2) Ko Simpson- Greg Wesley (3) Dawan Landry- Matt Bowen (20) Ouch! K Jon Scifres- Sebastian Janikowski (1) Stephen Gostrowski- Rian Lindell (4) P John Torp- Shane Lechler (1)
  7. And Parcells thought Bryant had a 'Tude. Wait till he gets aload of this guy! Who do you think TO will be playing for next year after he divides the Cowboy's locker room?
  8. Awesome! Can't wait to see him destroy that team too!
  9. Of course an agent can say he's lonely and has a good sense of humor
  10. Justice- the accused Sorry maybe this link will go through.
  11. Justice "the accused"[/url Not saying he's not good. Marv's not gonna go for this (or at least he said).
  12. Is this Winston's agent? Didn't read the link on my post eh? Immature & character is a question after a series of off-the-field incidents which lead to his being suspended for the entire 2004 season. He is the 2nd best tackle available but there is baggage there. I've seen too many of these guys blow up after they get there big paychecks.
  13. No worried about the fact he was suspended for an entire season for off the field issues. Stuttering problem was actually showing toughness that he faced it.
  14. Winston Justice Check out his weaknesses. Also he was on NFL total access practically begging GM's to look past his problems. Interesting fact but irrelevant was that he has a bad stuttering problem that he said he was nervous to overcome to be on the show.
  15. Winston Justice wont pass Marv's "High Character" standards as he has some past issues. Wroten should probably be compared to Tyrone Robertson not Warren Sapp.
  16. He just wants what he was offered and maybe "slighlty" less, he probably sees $$$ being thrown around to players with half his talent and says he wants a piece of it before it dry's up if there is no intention to keep him anyway.
  17. Someone out there please try and convince me that there is a better receiver out there for the Bills in 2006 than Moulds. Although Givens may be younger he is not on the same level. Everyone else seems like a downgrade (maybe not in the long run but at least for next year). Do you remember the offense 2 years ago without him? Ouch... All the other teams have to do is stack the line on McGahee. There will have to be life for the Bills after Moulds eventually but there is not a player this year out there in the draft or free agency that will help the bills more than Moulds would.
  18. Now that's funny. Sad but true. I think they are making me depressed too.
  19. Snyder can't hold his load any year free agency starts. He's mortgaging the future of that franschise yet again. Dark days will lye ahead for the Skins. How mad would you be if you were on the Skins and you just restructered your deal and they went out and blew all the money they saved on you. Plus aside from the mediocore big names they sign when free agency begins they really have a pretty plain roster.
  20. And Duke Preston!! Hurry folks. I need to update my Madden rosters.
  21. If the Bills were drafting to make there team better in '06 (not necessarily the future) this is how my board would stack up...One's got to drop to them and I would be happy with any of these guys starting on the team in '06 1. Reggie Bush RB- Don't worry Willis, this wont happen. Not a need but he is the best player in college football this year 2. D'Brikashaw Ferguson OT- Some Mocks have him falling but I doubt it. 3. Mario Williams DE- Can you imagine this guy with Schobel on the other side. 4. A.J. Hawk LB- Would fill him in for Posey...LB core would be insane. 5. Haloti Ngata DT- Big Nasty. I will be disapointed if he gets buy us if 1-4 are gone. 6. Vernon Davis TE- COuld make JP or Holcomb look much better. Look how much Eli leans on Shockey. 7. Michael Huff DB- Can't franchise Nate forever and he is way to good (by his own admission) to sign a long term deal. 8. Brodrick Bunkley- a QB has got to go ahead of us at some point so it probably wont get to this, but I would take him if all the others listed above him was gone.
  22. Hopefully we fix the O-Line via free agency... Nobody worth taking at #8 in the draft on the O-Line. Winston Justice is talked about a lot but apparently he has character issues. We can probably get a decent guard or center in the 2nd.
  23. I'd say that Davis may still be a remote possibility in the draft...depends on who else we sign in free agency. Let's not forget all the cust made after training camp too!!! Marv and Jauron will put there stamp on this team....hopefully it's not a Fat Elvis stamp!
  24. Hopefully she likes to ski!!! Bills | Team in talks with A. Davis Sat, 11 Mar 2006 17:58:29 -0800 WGR550.com reports the Buffalo Bills are in talks with free agent WR Andre' Davis (Patriots). Davis is discussing the franchise's offer with his wife, but added he does not have any other visits planned.
  25. Take Ngata if he is there. The cover 2 scheme requires a solid DL rotation.
