We leave in 9 days for Barcelona. From there we cruise to Lisbon on a 300 person Windstar ship. About 60 of those people will be our old church friends from Sarasota. Some very close friends, and all folks who just throw in the credit card and let them split it. (Yes, I’m very excited! Probably not the last you’ll hear of this!? )
I spent a few days in Barcelona and really liked it. Sounds like a great trip, enjoy!

Check out my avatar. I was a regular there as a kid. All that’s left standing are the gates I remember. I started young!
Nice, should have recognized your avatar. I only saw 2 or 3 games there. Great memories though!

I see that, as I get back every year or two now. I can attend games without ever going downtown as I did last year. (Born in Hamburg, but mostly grew up in Williamsville.). I just never got down there in my youth, and don’t know the difference between all the specific areas that are discussed.
Did you ever go to the old War Memorial Stadium? I did as a very young kid. I'm thinking that was in city limits, but not really downtown? I do remember it was in a rough neighborhood.

I need to do this, but won’t have time probably before the game. I also want DTV to send me one for free, but haven’t had time to call.
I havent had nbc for about a month and this is the first time I’ve cared.
You might be surprised how good the picture quality is with a decent antennae. You get the full HD signal instead of the compressed signal (going by my past DTV history).

Sirles was good. Wonder if this is a way to re-sign him later on.
No he was actually pretty bad. He couldn't crack a bad O Line last year; and when asked to step in at both tackle and guard, he played poorly. He wasn't going to make the team.

In other Bills news, I have also retired.

It’s Pete Mills. I snagged that a few pages back.
No, it's John Pitts as freddjj correctly guessed/stated.

My only worry about this is where he fits. He was the Director of Player Personnel. Dan Morgan has that job now. So is he reporting to Morgan? If so is he senior to the Malik Boyd (Dir Pro Personnel) and Terrence Gray (Dir College Scouting)? Or is he in fact not reporting to Morgan but directly to Beane and Schoen?
I think the clue may be in his title, Senior Personnel "Advisor." Someone in an advisor role usually doesn't have many teeth in a decision making role. I think he's another set of eyes that they respect and feel can add to the decision making process. I agree and also believe they are keeping him on the back bench as insurance for possible future F O moves/vacancies.

Nice way to stash a developing player. Hope Bills do this more. NE is the masters of it.
Sirles was doubtful to make the team. He couldn't crack the lineup last year on that bad line, and when he did play he did not look good. I think he's one of their character guys they like for the "culture."

No Branden Reilly?? Belichick is asleep!
Reilly is on the Lions, unless he has just been cut yet again by them.

Bills territory/Bills Country. It’s a state of mind more than geology. Born & raised in WNY, been a fan from their inception. I now live in significantly better climate -by choice, but still attend a game live from time to time and my fandom is as rabid as ever.
Why the reason for the inquisition?
Now that we understand your geography better, please explain how state of mind relates to geology..... and I agree attending a game live sure beats attending one dead.
Sorry, I couldn't help it. ?

In Allegany County it's definitely Bills country. Same for when I was growing up in Rochester. When I lived in Syracuse it seemed evenly split among Bills, Jets and Giants.
I lived in Allegany County in the 70's. Most people (young and retirees) move away from there, so I'm surprised you moved to there after Rochester and Syracuse. What part?

I reside in the Town of Tonawanda. I am eating my lunch watching hole number 4 at Brighton Golf Course...
As a very young kid I lived in the Town of Tonawanda and used to love Brighton Donuts. You mentioning "Brighton" Golf Course reminded me of them. Are they still there? Maybe @oldmanfan would remember them.

Roswell, New Mexico?
Nope, Roswell, GA which is north of Atlanta. There are plenty of Bills fans here in the metro and we were heard loud and clear at the Falcons-Bills game here. Matt Ryan even said, "I guess the Bills mafia is real."

I live in the UK. I am a civil servant working developing policy for central government. I left journalism and originally joined government comms as essentially a PR guy worked my way into policy.
People always presume working on the radio must be a cool job. But it doesn't pay great, the hours are long and often unsociable and the contracts and job security often short and temporary. Oh and journalism (which was what I was doing) increasingly gets squeezed on radio in the name of entertainment and the lines are pretty blurred. I get much more fulfillment out of what I do now.
Congrats on that! We, those that can, are blessed to be able to do for a living that which we enjoy. With the hours you post here you must keep some crazy hours. How did you become a Bills fan if in the UK? Do they get exposure over there?

Everybody should know who Greg Cook is. Without Greg Cook and his unfortunate injury there is no west coast offence, no Bill Walsh in the HoF and no 49ers dynasty.
Yep. Did it every day for 18 months. Was pretty good at it. Left it because of a bit of a disenchantment with journalism and for a better long term career move. I promise you it really isn't as hard as Steve Tasker makes it sound.
Now you have me curious; what was the better career move to?

Not mad. Just don't like lazy reporting and elevating players that barely register as good to legendary status. It diminishes the truly great ones.
Who reported he is a legend? I don't see where you are getting this from. Does he have a reporter that's a friend out in Portland?

I don't know if he's a 3 down back or not (he thinks he is), but Emmitt Smith was 5'9" 215 lbs and seemed to hold up just fine at that size.
