On a side note, my wife’s Lebanese family is lactose intolerant, and there is nothing funny about that either. Especially in a car on the ride home!

Not everyone is going to get that side note, so here, let me "clear the air for you".......🤣

So, we know that the NFL has restrictions on contact between coaches and players in the off-season.  The coaches can have social contact - call the players up to chat about golf or fishing - but are not supposed to watch film together or discuss football.  (Yes, I think the coach can have 40 players over to grill steak and cannonball into his pool, but it's unlikely 40 players would be in the same town in the off-season so that would draw scrutiny outside OTAs or training camp)

After the season ends, the HC, coordinator, and position coach can meet with the player and discuss his performance and future goals.  The S&C staff can give him a packet of off-season workouts.  Then that's it.

My question is: when a team changes coaching staff, is there an exception where the new staff can contact the players on the roster and give a new evaluation/goals or new off-season workout?

When they were looking to hire a new OC a reporter asked if Josh would have input in the hire. McDermott generically answered that Josh “would be kept in the loop.” So we don’t know what exactly is exchanged being in the loop, but there was purported to be contact. Perhaps that exchange can apply to other hires and positions as well.

Hopefully you are just speaking your notes into your phone or tablet, much like commenting to a fan watching the game with you. If not, how could you enjoy the game at all. I rarely write or type anything out anymore. Edit, format and send it on; or if necessary paste into a word processor and do the same.

Whatever you do, enjoy the game and your life. It goes by way too fast, just ask us old timers.  👴

Thanks @Virgil for your salient contributions here!

I'm old enough to remember when one Cookie Gilchrist, also the starting fullback, was the placekicker in 1962, 8x20 on FG's 14x17 on PAT's. He was replaced the next year by position player Mack Yoho, who wasn't much better.  Daryl Lamonica, the backup QB was the punter in 1963.  We upgraded to Gogolak and Maguire in 1964.

That reminded me that Qb Danny White used to be the Cowboys punter in the 70's-80's.

subject to waivers or has accrued enough years to pick his team? Played at Iowa, bounced around the league a lot but been with NE since 2017. Probably played with Boettger on the Hawkeyes.

If they released him there's probably a reason, but you can never have enough OL.

All players are subject to waivers after the trading deadline.

On the eve of our biggest game since Frank Reich was QB vs Miami in late ‘90,

    Heres a smattering of the intuitive, thought-provoking topics on the main page;

So what is the Defensive Gameplan?

Who is going to be the Unsung stud?

Besides JA, predict which player will have the biggest impact

Why is the run game so important?

So what is the Special Teams Gameplan?
My top 5 keys to winning on SNF

So what is the offensive game plan?

    1, 5 & 7 are from 3 Different posters! 🤦‍♂️

I’d venture to say we have more people visiting here than at any time previously. The entire football world is interested in this game, featuring 2 of the finest organizations and great young QBs currently playing -and we’re offering up this smorgasbord of childish lunacy. WhereTF is OUR A-Game? Have we been overrun by the cretins who call into WGR after the games? Hell, I’d rather read a rabble-rousing @Gugny trip-thread than this rubbish.

    So disappointing.

Come on, folks! Step up our Game! This isn’t the kiddie table!🤬

Thank you, my same reaction upon seeing those thread titles. I wondered if 13 year olds were taking over the site. It was a literal reminder of the giddy mindset I had way back at that age.  😲

Most gluten free tastes terrible but for something like wings its really about having a separate prep area coz sauce etc can easily be gluten free and tasty. Like Frank's doesn't have any gluten containing ingredients. Gluten free pizza and beer is a different story and should be avoided at all costs.

I disagree on the beer statement. I've been drinking Omission Beer for a couple years now. It is "gluten removed" after brewing, so it tastes just like regular barley (the gluten source) brewed beer.

If he’s that bad he can just go to the practice squad, don’t have to worry about someone snatching him up.

Actually I think he’s bad enough that he can go to the wait at home squad. After watching his senior year at Georgia I was unhappily surprised the Bills drafted him. I think Davis Webb offers more on the PS, on field and off.

I'm liking Lenoir. Wanna see him returning punts/kickoffs next game.

I don’t think he has the speed for the return game. He has run a 4.67 and a 4.63. That is likely why they haven’t tried him there.
