  1. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports/college-football/karlos-williams-went-from-all-america-candidate-to/njcbX/ “It brings in a one-two package. You can put them both in the backfield at the same time,” Fisher said. “It brings a lot of diversity to things we can call and do.” Sounds Roman-esque...
  2. More like clickbait...not much analysis there.
  3. Unfortunately for Boobie, that's the fallout from having a top heavy salary structure. The middle class gets smaller, even though he's a nice player and seems like a good presence in the locker room...
  4. Yeah, we're starting to build and all-star line up. "Turn to your right..."
  5. I don't know about Williams being a lock. Remember, Whaley said it would be very hard for these late round picks to make the team. He'll really have to have a strong camp to not end up on the practice squad if they keep Dixon...
  6. Why couldn't Williams (a former safety) provide just as much "core" ST value, for a lot less $$$?
  7. It was like buying an insurance policy at the time. No one like to pay for insurance, but sometimes you write the check so you can worry about something else...
  8. Fred might not be a starter anymore, but he'll be a very effective third down back. That's a long way from being off the roster...
  9. Boobie could free up $1.1 million in cap space (vs. $660,000 for Bryce Brown). If Williams can provide the same ST value, it may come down to a $$$ decision...
  10. Fred should have no problem beating out Williams as a RB. The question will be how much they value Karlos' ST abilities...
  11. He's not an instinctive runner right now. But he'd be a very good special teams player as a former safety. That's got to be the appeal, IMO...
  12. Anyone think they may try and convert him back to safety? http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1860763/karlos-williams "These same questions about fluidity could lead to problems for Williams if his future NFL team elected to move him back to defense. There is no question that Williams offers special teams prowess - but how early will a club be willing to invest a draft pick on a player whose only contributions early on may come there?"
  13. Boobie, we knew you well...
  14. They're having a nice draft. Looks like they finally have a GM...
  15. Too funny. Reminds me of my frat days...
  16. It's painful to sit on our hands and watch guys who would be very helpful depth for the Bills go flying off the board. But it does beat doing the yard work my wife wanted done before she comes home...
  17. Hire him to cut Pegs grass in the oftseason. $100,000 per hour...
  18. Man, that makes this whole back-and-forth even more cringeworthy. I might expect this kind of thinking from a kid, but from someone old enough (and presumably mature enough) to reference Shula is mindblowing. We're talking about people who have a job (NFL player), not a vocation. What they do on their own time, when not at work and who they call friends has no impact on Sundays. Players change teams all the time. Does that mean they can no longer have friendships with guys they used to play with? This line of thinking is just bizarre...
  19. Another good profile on Darby: http://floridastate.scout.com/story/1541888-nfl-draft-scouting-report-ronald-darby?s=16 Edit: Every time I find more detailed profiles of Darby like this I shake my head at what useless junk the stuff on NFL.com is. This year more than ever, I miss Joel Buchsbaum... http://archive.apsportseditors.org/contest/2003/writing/over250/over250.features.second.html
  20. Yeah, it's always funny when folks with no opinion on a player criticize the comments of those that do have one...
  21. That was a flawed position anyway. There is never a problem associated with acquiring a superstar. Those guys come along every ten years or so, while the "average" NFL player can be acquired each spring...
  22. It's frustrating as fans to look a mock draft boards and get riled up when a player "rated much higher" is passed over. I think we'll have to get used to the thought that their picks were scheme-specific choices rather than absolute value picks. Maybe that's a good thing as it will be more like plugging a round peg into a round hole...
