  1. Let the punishment fit the crime.... http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/n-f-l-sentences-brady-to-a-year-with-the-jets
  2. I thought it was interesting that an agent -- you know, a player's advocate -- would imply that a player (even if it wasn't one in his stable) was in the wrong...
  3. Leigh Steinberg's interesting take: http://www.forbes.com/sites/leighsteinberg/2015/05/06/why-deflate-gate-matters/ "Every so often a football related issue transcends the narrower genre of hard core football fans to become a national topic of discussion. “Deflate Gate” hit the third rail of public reaction. The public was outraged that America’s favorite pastime could involve a form of cheating."
  4. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/bell/2015/05/06/suspend-tom-brady-patriots-deflategate-wells-report-saints-sean-payton-roger-goodell/70911002/ With each article from a credible news source, the NFL get backed further and further into a corner...
  5. The NFL has to draw a line in the sand at some point. How many consecutive years can they have "the worst off season in history" before the ship starts taking on water and listing to port?
  6. Really? Everybody likes to watch a cheater get his comeuppance. IMO, it would be "reality TV" to a lot of fans who'd never bother to watch a Pats regular season non-prime time game...
  7. The drums are starting to beat louder in NFL cities around country.... http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2015/05/06/tom-brady-lied-only-the-consequences-are-open-to-debate/ http://www.cleveland.com/budshaw/index.ssf/2015/05/tom_brady_deflategate_new_engl.html http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/greg-cote/article20364276.html
  8. Agreed. This is something that regularly appeared to be a game-time event. Darth Hoodie would have been well into the sideline preparation by then...
  9. It's going to be fun following the Boston media reaction this week... http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/02/05/hurley-failed-deflategate-accusations-means-its-time-for-irsay-pagano-to-be-banned-from-nfl/
  10. All the more reason most of America would tune in to see them take a woop'n...
  11. From a ratings standpoint, it might even attract more eyeballs to not have him there--which should please most NFL owners and their media partners. Think of how many people will tune in to see what happens to the Pats without Brady...
  12. But how many black eyes can the NFL owners take?? This is the biggest of them all, IMO, since it affected the AFC championship game and, ultimately, the Superbowl. There has to be a sacrificial lamb (GOAT) at some point, as the NFL is too media-savvy to just keep brushing these events aside...
  13. I think Roger will make an example of this situation and suspend Brady for at least four games. He almost has to after what he said before the Superbowl, otherwise the media will put so much heat on the NFL that it will hound him out of the office.... "Goodell said two days before the Super Bowl: “We want the truth. That’s what I think our fans want. That’s what our clubs want. And so what we want to do is make sure that we find that truth. If there are violations of the rules, we take them seriously, particularly when they deal with the integrity of the game and the rules.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2015/05/06/deflategate-wells-report-concludes-more-probable-than-not-patriots-violated-league-rules-tom-brady-aware-of-activities/
  14. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/5/6/8561053/nfl-likely-to-punish-tom-brady-and-patriots-for-deflategate Is this the straw that broke the camel's back? The NFL has been giving out too many slaps and it seems like the number of infractions is at an all-time high. Time to over-react, Roger...

  16. Don't worry, he'd come back under a new handle...
  17. Ignoring him is just a slap on the wrist. We need a BAN!!
  18. An argument can be made that deflated footballs helped them win the championship game. That's way more serious than videotaping a practice...
  19. Or... tune in as the nation gets to see the Brady-less Pat's get their ass kicked on opening night! The rating would be absolutely huge for that smackdown, IMO...
  20. Can't see it. The most telling thing is the Vegas line being removed on the Pats. That tells you that "this time is different..."
  21. http://www.nj.com/super-bowl/index.ssf/2015/01/troy_aikman_says_patriots_punishment_for_cheating_should_exceed_bountygate_penalties.html There's no way Roger doesn't drop the hammer on Brady. The optics are just too bad...
  22. Agreed. Brady is the only player mentioned repeatedly. This will force the NFL's hand, no matter what the organizational optics are...
  23. Page 122: "Based on the evidence, we also have concluded that it is more probable than not that Tom Brady was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls. 73" Page 125: "We nevertheless believe, based on the totality of the evidence, that it is more probable than not that Brady was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls." Page 130: "As discussed above, Brady‟s refusal to provide us with his own emails, text messages and phone records on relevant topics, in response to our narrowly tailored requests, limited the evidence available for our review and analysis. We believe that our findings are nevertheless supported by the evidence and information available to us during the course of our work."
