  1. Hey! You might have cracked McBeane's code. Make all of your trading partners better and those 2018 first round draft picks become more valuable....
  2. Yep. Contracts are meant to be ripped up the moment they're signed. The guaranteed money is all that matters. I still don't get the urgency. We're weaker for the next ten games and they could have gotten a 6th round pick just as easily in the off season. Maybe more if Dareus finishes strong and the team got a lot of national exposure...
  3. Not All Pro by any stretch. But certainly competent, if not better than that, as a space eater. Someone who can play that role is not on this roster....
  4. Andy Reid, McD's mentor, has had a problem getting over the top, likely due to a similar approach.
  5. Not numbers. Talent. Washington was thought to be almost out of here a few weeks ago. Worthy's only played 52 snaps all season. Thorton weighs 299, so he's not stacking anything...
  6. The rotation is getting weaker. Dareus played 57% of the defensive snaps last week. Now these three journeymen have to pick up that work--and do it effectively...
  7. All that work on your part. Ang gone with a click of the mouse...
  8. Adolphus Washington, Cedric Thornton Jerel Worthy These guys now have to take on the double teams and stack the middle next to Kyle. The DT rotation looks a lot shakier...
  9. That's almost a given. Just as it would have been here...
  10. I'd rather they deactivated him for the next 10 games then. You just know there's some HC on another team that thinks he--and he alone--can motivate Dareus. The big egos in the NFL make that a dead bang certainty. An offseason, lower stress atmosphere makes every FO into geniuses. Somebody would have offered a 3rd or something better than this return...
  11. You don't just throw away assets like this FO does. The lack of return is the big problem. Culture is very important. But it's on the coaching staff to get as much as possible out of their players. And I don't think this staff did, by a long shot. Rookie mistakes by McD and Beane to just pull the plug for less than nothing....
  12. Cut off your nose to spite your face. Got it...
  13. Fuk Beane, then. Just outright dumb doing this now, rather than in the offseason when demand would have been higher. I don't get the urgency...
  14. How about this one: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2574163-book-excerpt-daniel-snyder-and-the-unreal-power-of-nfl-owners "The NFL owners are an interesting group. There are a handful of high-profile owners, but most stay in the background. Ownership meetings are among the most secretive aspects of professional football. Some owners (and management personnel, including general managers) are genuinely decent people who want the best for their players. Some other owners see their teams simply as ATM machines, and the players as interchangeable parts. They don't see the players as true partners. If they did, they would care more about them, and definitely not say what the owner of the Texans said to GQ magazine in early 2015. In the story, Texans owner Bob McNair was quoted as being dismissive of the NFL's concussion crisis, saying, unbelievably, that most head trauma of NFL players didn't happen in professional football."
  15. I can't put my finger on them right now but IIRC, McNair has said some other things that were not exactly PC toward his players. I suspect this is just another brick in the wall he's building...
  16. Amazing how they can't even work their way up to mediocrity...
  17. I hate the Fins but I've always liked Matt Moore for being a quite, competent survivor. But boy, was that bad...
  18. This pot's pretty close to boiling...
  19. Painful to watch Flacco's eyes after that hit...
  20. The refs better lay some lumber here...its getting out of hand.
  21. Man, the Ravens are just gonna bring the heat from here on out. They look really pissed....
  22. Contractual rights. It's a business and both parties knew that when they signed said contract. And I never did hear how the signing bonus was handled when AB 'retired'...
