  1. other issues that may not have been discussed: What gets done with the current Bills compound, especially the stadium? Who maintains it if not demolished? Who pays for demolition? Would there be sufficient revenue if its kept as a venue as cover the costs in keeping it maintained (or does it just become a money pit for the county or blighted property)? Can it be rehabilitated for use as private land? What happens to the businesses that have been built up based upon proximity to the stadium?
  2. the definition of an independent contractor and employee has been a hot topic in the business world. legalzoom has an excellent blurb on it
  3. This ruling was important to moving the case forward thru the process. if the judge had ruled that a Jill is an independent contractor then the claims made in the suit would have been dead in the water. But based upon the existing case law, there is enough evidence pointing to the fact that the Jills were de facto employees so this case can then move forward. The judge allowing this to be a class action suit makes sense from an efficiency standpoint: it is easier, better, faster and cheaper for all involved for 1 case with 100 plaintiffs rather than 100 cases with 1 plaintiff (although there are multiple other implications of a class action suit vs individual suits)
  4. Some folks might have a different view of things if they read the complaint and saw what the Jills and their attorneys allege. Among the things that are alleged are that the Bills (and it's successors): Failed to pay Jills for all hours worked Failed to reimburse Jills for certain business expenses Failed to pay them in a timely manner Took unlawful deductions and kickbacks from the Jills' wages Unlawfully took gratuities paid to the Jills Failed to to adhere to the notice and and record keeping requirements of the Wage Theft Prevention Act. Regardless of what they "signed up for", none of the above alleged actions (especially the first five) would be acceptable by any employer. Of course the defendants have the right to present their evidence and testimony to refute these claims and I don't believe that we have seen the defendant's responses
  5. shame on you for using stats....didn't you get the memo? Taylor sucks.
  6. http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2015/11/30-for-30-volume-iii-continues-with-four-falls-of-buffalo-on-december-12/?ex_cid=30for30FB The next installment in ESPN Films’ award-winning 30 for 30 series, “Four Falls of Buffalo,” will premiere on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 9:30 p.m. ET immediately following the Heisman Trophy presentation on ESPN.
  7. a few things that no one has pointed out: 1) it was veterans appreciation day and the fan in question was a vet. 2) the fan in question got prior approval from BOA stadium personnel before he hung it: “I followed all the rules. I got pre-approval to have that banner, and look what it got me. We were shocked. When Cam ran up, we thought he was going to talk to us, or even sign our banner. But instead he ripped it out of our hands and almost took my son-in-law’s finger with it." http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article43718883.html Read more here: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article43718883.html#storylink=cpy
  8. Here in London. Toured the Chelsea stadium. Was cool. Having a few beers at hotel bar 2 for 1 happy hour. Saw a Bills fan there
  9. if something in the lower leg pops (like achilles) you can't walk
  10. how did it come? fedex type package?
  11. according to my ticket order, the status has changed to "Your tickets are being processed” which, according the Customer Service section of Ticketmaster UK indicates that they’ve been printed. You might want to check yours to see if you are in a similar status.
  12. paddington puts you close to pete there is paddington station which is a largish train station which also includes a tube stop plus there a few tube stops in that area so when you head your hotel, confirm which tube station and line, that will help get you close. google maps will help narrow it down.
  13. Notting Hill? paddington (pete), notting hill (KD) and Kensington (me) are relatively close together (we have Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens surrounded on 3 sides). Regents Park is about 1 mile or so north Hyde Park (Jay). So far we all seem located close together.
  14. OK folks, I will ask a couple of friends in London for some pub recommendations. I will try to find someplace that is central to where folks are staying but to do so, i will need to know where folks are staying (in general terms). Please PM me what section(s) of London you are staying (ie: Chelsea, Kensington, Westminster etc) and I will see what I can find.
  15. neck injury....taken to local hospital according to the game announcers
  16. Ticket Update According to the Ticketmaster UK site: Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars, Wembley Stadium, 25th October We’ve received the tickets in and have now started the dispatch process. Don’t panic if your friends get theirs before you - this is a huge event, so we’re sending them out in batches! The Order Status in your account will change to “Your tickets are being processed” once they’ve been printed, and the latest you should receive them is around 5 days before the game. We’ll update this page again once everything’s gone out. If you chose secure post, you’ll also receive an email from Royal Mail, or UPS for overseas customers, with your tracking info so you can keep an eye on their progress.
  17. if your passport expired more than 15 years ago, you will have to present yourself in person to renew so you can ask that question to the examiner
  18. Ticket shipment update According to the very British customer service agent I spoke to, the Ticketmaster UK site covers this in their customer service FAQ. There is a section that is updated daily that shows if/when the tickets will be dispatched. As of today 6/5, it says
  19. Good question. I don't have a definitive answer on this one. A quick google search yielded this but it is also not definitive.
  20. Might make sense to catch a Ryan Air flight to gatwick and flight to jfk...you can catch some deals with them
  21. To add to Pete: Heathrow is the more expensive airport to fly into. Gatwick can be a better deal. Norwegian Air has some super cheap flights from JFK to London (but you have to watch them closely as the cheapest flights have a la carte fees for things like baggage and you have to get to JFK). One thing to consider is a car transfer to the airport especially if you have an early flight home. Check the Express train schedules to make sure that you will get their in time for your flight. there are also some additional travel tips further up thread
  22. Check the bills in london thread in tailgate central. We will try to meet up as a group in London.
