  1. We all know Fletcher made a few dumb penalties a few weeks ago. He had a bad game. Many people here said he should be benched.

The key thing here is what Fletcher did about it. Fletcher came out and had a monster of a game against the Jets. He was all over the place, even running down Moss from behind. This is an example others need to look at. In particular:

    1. Jonas Jennings

    2. Pierson Prelaou

These guys played very poorly. They need to pull a Fletcher an play out of their heads on Sunday.

  2. todd's right. it's the defense's turn to lose the game for us when it matter most.

    they like to take turns.

jerry gray has called a pitiful game today.

You gotta spread the blame around. The offense has been very flat for most of the game.

I doubt they can get us down in FG range.

  3. Strange. I happen to agree with him.

I hate predictions, and I try not to make a lot of them. But I will leave you with one more thought -- and I feel pretty good about this one:

I saw the Buffalo Bills play this week. Yes, they are 0-3, with a new coach and a quarterback who is getting an unbelievable amount of pressure. But when I look at this team objectively, I see very few glaring weaknesses and a lot of strengths -- playmakers on defense and some great playmakers on offense. Eric Moulds is back. The Pro Bowl receiver looks big, fast, dynamic and angry. He's got it all going for him. Drew Bledsoe needs to eliminate some mistakes, like any quarterback does, but he looks good. They have a good situation at running back.

I think the Bills will get back into the hunt. You can see what they're trying to do and the plan looks good. As they settle in and get used to the new coach and the new system on offense, I would not be surprised to see them really start clicking and get things together.

Just file that away until maybe Week 10. We'll revisit at that time and see how it looks. No guarantees, of course!

  4. I knew I'd bring the whiners out! :w00t:

Look, keep whining. That's fine with me. It's your right to do that as fans. Clearly the outcome of games is unacceptable. I'm not an idiot.

But what else is clear is that the things that this team does right are quite good. If you get a new coach and scheme, you're going to go through growing pains. I see more potential with this team than I did in any of the GW years, and it's only Mularkey's 3rd game. It's only the players 3rd game under the new offensive system. I hate to break it to you folks, but when you get a new scheme WRs have a tendency to run incorrect routes, RBs have a tendency to make mistakes, and QBs have a tendency to throw to the wrong spot. You all have been watching football long enough to understand this.

I'm not saying that people here shouldn't be frustrated, I'm just calling it as I see it. There are plenty of positives to this team, if you care to look at them. Of course, people like to remember the things that suck rather than the things that are good. That's not a way to look at a team in a new system. It's like everyone's got a case of Jerry Sullivanitis.

  5. So far I've watched the first and second quarters over. Mostly in slo-mo. I see many positives about this team, and I see some very good things happening. This is a damn good team.

    Observations:

    1. The o-line played damn well for the most part against a good Pats D. Hear that everyone? THEY PLAYED WELL!

    2. Travis hit the holes he had fast and hard and got good yards.

    3. Drew threw the ball well for the most part. His best game since last year.

    4. London' Fletcher's roughing call was complete BS.

    5. Our defense is very, very good.

    6. McGee is a phenominal athlete and offeres some big play capability that Vincent doesn't.

    7. Wire is not the answer at safety.

    8. Placalling is so much better than last year I can't understand why people complain about it.

Lastly, if you whiners expected anything less than a little difficulty with a new coach and revamped scheme, then you might as well go root for another team. That's just not realistic.

  6. We use credit but pay it off every month. My wife and I are flying to jamaica in November with all the airline miles we've earned. In addition, when I travel to LA for work, I'm able to upgrade to first class with miles I earn with the card. Totally worth it for long, busy trips and flights.

We put everything on it, then pay it off. Of course, you need self-control and the ability to budget, but most adults should be able to do that. I also get paid for booking my work trips, but get reimbursed. More miles for free!

For us, at least, using credit with benefits is great.

  7. The team played well. Star was obviously McGee. He had some key pass breakups. On the roughing call against fletcher, he made a great move on the ball and broke it up. The interception that was called back in the endzone was timed perfectly. The guy is awesome. He may make some mistakes, but he's a better athlete than Vincent at this point.

    Also-

-O-line played very well. Very, very well in fact.

-Drew played well. One bad pass. Got the ball out quickly against blitzes.

-Defense was quite good, despite the flags. Lots of pressure on Brady. Brady is damn good, though.

-The roughing call on fletcher was key. It was a load of crap. Horrible. Brady is the golden boy, and the refs know it.

All in all, the Bills held up to the Pats well. I'll watch more when the wife isn't around.

  8. Actually, in this case I'm a glass 1/3 full, not 2/3 empty kind of guy. A positive post isn't as easy to write as a negative one, so give me a break here.

    So on to the positives:

    1. Mularkey did the right thing in starting Evans. He had a real nice game, especially for a rookie. Evans is good.

    2. Travis ran well for most of the game behind solid blocking. Mike williams did a fine job - and I can't imagine I just said that!

    3. Drew threw the ball well for most of the game. Every QB makes mistakes, and although he had a few he had some nice plays as well.

    4. Playcalling was very good - way better than Gilbride's. Obviously, it was pretty smart to utilize the run to diminish the blitz.

    5. Special teams were excellent. I haven't seen that in years! It was awesome to see a team kick the ball AWAY from our returner. Respect, baby.

Overall the team played like one under a new coach and a new scheme. Some flashes of brillaince that I was happy with. We all knew we wouldn't win this game. I saw some good things throughout the game that I didn't see last year at all.

  9. He's a whiney depressing angst ridden no-talent.

The pu**ification of Ed is complete.

I really don't think you know what you're talking about. Have you actually heard songs like "Cemetery Gates" or "Paint a Vulgar Picture"? How about "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others", "Ask", or "Girlfriend in a Coma"? Hardly depressing, angst-ridden or boring. Actually, some of those songs are friggin' hilarious, and they are meant to be.

And anyone who calls the Smiths talentless might not know a well-crafted song if it hit them in the nose. My guess is you probably haven't heard too much of the Smiths.
