1. OK here's the deal.  Airlines have cheesed out and are using these little commuter jobs (Delta: Cinci to Buffalo).  Since I have such a severe pucker factor about flying (cant drive a needle up my butt with a sledge hammer) the prospect of flying in one of these puddle jumpers does not make me happy.  I cant medicate myself (Dr. Jim Beam) because I will be with the family.  No other airline flies wide bodies into Buffalo anymore either.

So has anyone taken this ride of the Valkyrie, and how was it?

On the up side, Buffalo is home January 2nd.

Yeah, I fly them all the time. 50 seats is NOT small. I go between Rochester and DC quite often, and usually it's one of those.

Don't worry about it. If you're really anxious call the doc for some xanax. It's great. Even without it, you'll be fine. The legroom is a little tight, but it's not that bad.

Unless something has changed since we played the Steelers in Pittsburgh in the playoffs all those years ago, the Steelers radio booth is one of the least objective bunch of homers in the league.  And Cope was unlistenable even before any throat surgery.

    This pissed me off:

    4. New York Jets (6-2). Mulligan.

Mulligan? Mulligans are illegal. Not only that, we kicked their ass. It wasn't a bad game by the Jets, it was a good game by the Bills.

  3. This has been argued over and over.  I asked when did Bush utter those words.  You show me a sign.  Unless he barfed up those words on to the sign or ordered that sign written they are not his words.  Did he order that sign written?  I don't know and neither do you.  So there is no sense in arguing an unprovable point.

Whatever. Friggin apologists sicken me. The white house admitted that it had a hand in it. Now where does the president reside? OH THE WHITE HOUSE!

Is it so difficult for you to admit that Bush & his staff were wrong? Iraq is turning into a cesspool.

  4. Well I was on my way home from work and I figured I would stop by The Big Tree for an icy cold one.  Well I go in and shoot the stevestojan with one of the co-owners (fellow baseball player in WNY), well in comes our O-Line and Drew.  Solid......well Vallerial came right over to us and ordered a round of shots...solid...he is a GREAT guy...anyways , they are FIRED up to get the JETS here on Sunday and they said they expect to let Willis run all day on the Jets....Well, lets hope so...but it was nice to see them in such a positive mood like that!  Git er Done!

I'm incredibly pleased that the o-line hangs out together, especially with the QB there. That type of thing is what made the Bills great back in the day.

Buffalo isn't like other football towns, and I'm glad to see these guys carrying on the tradition. I'm of the mind that much of what needs to get done with this offensive line can be accomplished over a beer, and not in a meeting room.

  5. Everyone who makes it to such a lofty perch has an ego.  Otherwise they'd never make a decision and wouldn't get there.  Donahoe is smart, much smarter than people here give him credit for.  That doesn't mean he's perfect.

    101795

Oh, he's certainly not perfect (*cough* greggg williams *cough* drew bled*cough*), but I think he's admitted his mistakes by the moves he's made. He got rid of williams, and drafted a guy to replace Bledsoe.

  6. I don't see how anyone outside of insiders had any inkling of this move, much less to Sirius, much less months ago.  And my investment is for the long-term, so the short-term adjustments don't bother me too much.

Well, it's your money. Stern himself has been talking about this for quite some time. You might want to do some research before buying stock on a whim. Learn from other people's mistakes.

Are they profitable? Do they pay a dividend? How much debt do they have? What is their install base compared to their competition? Who else holds the stock in large numbers?

If you can't answer these questions, you have no reason to buy the stock. To buy stock because howard stern is moving to them is idiotic.

  7. I'm posting this here because no one is around on the other board.

I'm not very educated or experienced in the stock exchange area however:

Howard Stern is moving to satellite radio, and this will obviously draw many people to purchase satellite radio.

    so here's my question:

Once he does switch to satellite radio or shortly before, do you think it would be a good move to buy some stock in some satellite radio companies? (ex: Sirius)

Just a thought, let me know what you think.

    97756

Do more research. Buying a stock because a radio personality is switching is not smart. Real market watchers knew about this months ago so the adjustment has been made.

Look at mutual funds. Fool.com has some good information on rookie investors. Diversification is key, or if you have enough money a managed account. I'd suggest either educating yourself more or consulting a professional you can trust.

  8. It's Halloween peckersnot.  So how many people do you know that take their kids trick or treating at 1 O'clock in the afternoon?

I've been through blizzards and hurricanes so dont whine to me about water going down your neck.

    94407

I do know that it takes nearly 2 hours to get back to Rochester, peckersnot. And trick-or-treating starts around 6PM with the little kids. So 4 (game ends) + 2 (drive time) = 6 (when you get home). There - I did the math for you. That means that if people from Rochester want to be with their kids to do Haloween, the game is impossible.

And I've been to many, many cold games, peckersnot. I've been sleeted on, rained on, snowed on, etc. However, I must say that 50 degrees and a constant stream of water in my face was unpleasant. You can B word at me for not having the desire to sit through Joe Burns and Shane Matthews running the offense in garbage time, but I saw fit to leave with 5 minutes left. And I don't blame anyone else who did.

  9. Did we even have over 50,000? then the fans that were there leave by the midway point of the 4th!

Then some on this board have the nerve to questuon why some players dont care what fans say......GREAT WIN BY(our bills) but terrible effort by these so called ''great fans of ours!"

    IM EMBARRASSED!

    94004

Hey Rudy: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

The stadium was packed at the beginning. And you have no idea how crappy the weather was. I do - I was there. On the Bills side the wind and rain was blowing right in our faces and dripping down the neck of our shirts and into our clothes. I was in waterproof snow gear, and I was cold and wet.

Nice of you to B word while sitting warm and inside, you kitty. There were over 60K people there. Pretty good for playing a crappy non-divisional team like Arizona, and pretty good that many WNY people have family and opt to spend haloween taking their kids trick-or-treating.

    Piss off, dumbass.
