1. Yes, I am familiar with those days and much of that writing.  The columns he wrote back then were nothing like those of today (unless you're speaking of day-after Super Bowl entries).  Of course he brought up negatives back then, but nothing like the scathing criticisms we see on a typical Monday now.  Many of his columns were praise-laden with a mention here or there about a way the Bills could get better.  What's wrong with that?  To say he "focused" on the negatives back then is crazy.  He simply pointed out holes in very good teams that, perhaps you'll remember, never won the big one.

Jerry - is that you? Are you defending yourself? Self-fellation is a talent that only few are blessed with.

  2. You obviously weren't familiar with Sullivan during the "glory days" of the early nineties. He sounded much the same as he does today and had the same unfounded yet consistent negative opinions on teams that were going 13-3.

    Thank you.

Sullivan used to call for Jimbo to be benched all the time, even when we were going to SBs. He's a prick.

for anyone who finds joy in his loathing of the Buffalo organization :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: .

  3. You can't argue with his logic

    84296

Umm, yes you can. Here's his logic: everone sucks. Donahoe sucks. Mularkey sucks. Bledsoe sucks.

I can argue with his logic. Donahoe doesn't suck, and mularkey doesn't suck. If you think that's the case, you might want to step away from the sauce. Why do you think Donahoe drafted McGahee? Hmm? Why do you think he drafted Losman? Hmmm? But of course all the idiots around here do is focus on the negative. But that's par for the course.

  4. He does focus on the negative. I thought it was a good point about the play calling, however.

Anyone can make a good point, especially if it's obvious. If I ever saw him I'd teach him how to smile with a toothless grin. Well, maybe not really, but punching the ass would bring me pleasure.

Anyway, maybe there should be a note on all links to jerry sullivan articles that says "Warning: article written by prick"

  5. And that's all the rest of us are saying....so what the hell are you arguing about?

Nobody is expecting us to become the '99 Rams when Losman plays.

    83359

Just you wait. As soon as Losman has a bad game, everyone will B word because he's not playing like Rothlesberger. Then he'll be called a bust, and Donahoe will be frankenstein's monster. Trust me.

  6. 1. Zero rushing TDs.

    2. Penalties.

    3. WRs with hands of stone.

    4. Poor playcalling.

    5. Crappy o-line.

Don't misuderstand, Drew is a big part of the problem, but when Losman gets in there and we experience many of the same problems we have now, please don't start calling for his head like a lynch mob. A rookie QB isn't going to fix this atrocity. Temper your expections with a new QB. Patience.

  7. Only stated that because I believe I've disagreed with every opinion you've had on the board.  Where I've been right about 2/3 rds of the time, your batting average is lower.

    83288

Oh really? Back it up. Go ahead. I want examples. If you're going to be an ass and call me out, you better damn well back it up. So do it.

  8. I agree, it's not about fixing a 1-5 team, it's about moving forward with the understanding that we have a washed up QB and it's a chance to rebuild for the future, that's why you traded you no.1

    83238

Now THAT'S the answer that I was looking for. When Drew gets benched, and he should, I hope when Losman stinks it up people don't start bitching to put drew back in. But I've been here long enough to know that people will. It's the problem with the football IQ, ya know?

  9. I agree, not to rub salt but I got my 400sc last week.  Just got my Presario V2000 laptop, nicely loaded,  the other day.  I don't care for Dell lappys sorry.

    81217

I've got a Dell XPS laptop. It screams. 3.4 ghz, 1 gig dual-channel ram. Fast as hell. I never use my desktop any more.

  10. OK, so outside of Schobel, can I please get a legit starter?  Or is that too much to ask in 4 years?  TD carries some blame there also.  Still have no DE's.  No DT's outside of what we bought or had.  No LB's at all have been developed.  No safeties.  LOL, he's a joke.

But how about the guys we had to buy?  Posey, Fletcher, Spikes, Milloy, Vincent, Adams?  Seems as all the impact guys have nothing to do with Gray at all.

    Gray is a joke!

    80179

So he sucks because he has good players that came in as FA? Wow. Brilliant.

    Give me a friggin break.

  11. This is why guys like Brady,Manning,Favre,Pennington, Warner etc will always be more sucesfful than your Mike Vicks and your Donovan Mcnabbs.  BTW before anyone gets started this isn't a bias against black qb's cause I happen to like Mcnair, Aaron brooks and was a big warren moon fan, but running qb's who don't have pocket awarness just aren't going to win in this league.

    76620

Yeah, and culpepper didn't start REALLY kicking ass until he learned to stay in the pocket. Now look at him - he's amazing. Although, teams do have to play him differently because he's mobile. The mere threat of that is important. Drew doesn't have that.
