  1. A dominating win is usually one where a team wins by more then 10 points, and doesn't just give up scoring at half time. The first half of the game was dominating, the second half was typical McDermott football making sure he doesn't hurt the other teams feelings. Even in wins there can be bad/negative things that can be talked about or discussed and not be happy about.
  2. I can honestly say I didn't notice or even think about the crowd noise and there being no crowd in the stands. I do remember them saying on the broadcast that in the stadium, a constant 70dbs was pumped through the speakers at a constant hum that was similar to a vaccum (Lofton made a joke about his vaccum was probably louder)
  3. is that why his first choice was to go to the Saints if Brees retired? So he could be in closer access to some Voodoo?
  4. Thats because it usually drives discussion, unlike what some seem to expect by having all Calls be people calling in just to say how amazing and perfect everything is because they won! But when that happens, fans just complain about the 'Homerism' going on
  5. On the TV broadcast they said No because it was over the uprights Do you think that newton would have had half of the career he's had if the Panthers had 'played it safe' and kept him from using his legs? This is football and theres always going to be a risk of injury no matter the play If you are going to worry about your QB getting injured because hes running, you don't draft a QB like Newton, Jackson, Allen, etc.
  6. All we heard around here last year was how 300 yard games were meaningless and usually only happen with bad teams who have to throw the ball in desperation to get back into a game, now it means eliteness because Allen finally did it. The defence played great yesterday but was it because they were dominate or was it because the Jets offence was just bad, all everyone was talking about around here is how bad the Jets offensive weapons are around Darnold? had the jets been able to do anything with the ball, those 2 fumbles could have been huge to swing the game. Maybe some people aren't out planning the SB parade just yet because it was only one game against a bad team and there are still things the bills will need to work on if they want to be considered a true contender and not be 'one and done' in the playoffs again. This team still seems to be similar to last year where they don't want to put a game away by driving up a score. They were up 21-3 at half time then were outscored 14-6 the rest of the game as it appeared they put the brakes on the offence. i don't know anyone that is truly pissed off about yesterday, but some aren't as excited and ready to declare the team being in elite status and a SB favorite just yet And those kinds of calls are typical of just about any sports talk show outside of maybe a handful of teams where they are used to dominating (Like the Pats or Yankees/Redsox)
  7. I thought that was interesting and could see this becoming a new trend where stadiums get a cover to help shield the sun/rain/snow etc. but also be technically outdoors because the ends are open and allowing the wind and air to blow through. They said early on that you could still get a sun burn from the translucent panels that make up the roof. The panels would also allow an 'Indoor' field to have natural grass
  8. When it goes to a close up you can see it's a light grey, from one of the higher angles the lights make them look white
  9. How dare you He had one game with a high completion percentage and broke 300 yards that eliminates any previous things ever said about him. Of course if he had 1 bad game those same people would be here telling us how the sample size is too small to come to any conclusions No one in here has complained about his performance today, but if you aren't fawning over how perfect he is at every aspect of the game, your a hater who is unhappy and miserable
  10. But where those designed runs helping open things up for him in the passing game since the rest of the running game couldn't get it going today? As I said a few times earlier, the issue isn't the designed runs but teaching Allen to go down or get out of bounds to not take the hits. If the running game was working today with Singleterry and Moss, they probably wouldn't need to run Allen as much
  11. These southern areas need the roofs or enclosed domes because of the heat/sun in those areas. Sitting for 3+ hours in the direct sun in California/Florida/Texas/Vegas in late summer/early fall is not always the most comfortable places to be. When I got married 8 years ago in November we flew to Vegas after and when we left here it was snowing, got there and it was shorts and t-shirt weather warm enough to still go for a swim during the day
  12. I would say he had a good game today by any standard. But how much of that was because the Jets had to worry about trying to stop him using his legs? He was the only one out there doing any damage on the ground. How much did that help out?
  13. But the RBs weren't very effective today, singleterry was the best RB for them today and he had 30 total yards on the ground. Would the passing offence have been as effective if Allen wasn't running all over the place?
  14. People do watch the games and they see throws where he throws a 5 yard pass hard enough to blow through a brick wall and deep passes that are 10-15 yards away from the closest receiver. He has the athletic ability to be very good, but he hasn't put it all together to get to a point where defences are gearing his arms.
  15. That's true, outside of Diggs, Allen had experience with the rest of his WRs, Darnold hasn't. But even their RBs (which include a very good one in Bell) didn't look good with Darnold. It can take some time for QBs to get used to certain receivers. I remember reading last year Brady saying it can take him over 30 days working with someone to get into a rhythm with .a new WR, it's one of the reasons why new WRs didn't usually mesh with Brady when they come to NE
  16. Was that actually a sound effect or really what it sounds like when a ball hits what's basically a large tuning fork? Is that actually grey? When it's not close up it looks white
  17. Well that was the BB approach with him. Fox was talking about it on the pregame show today how BB was never very complimentary with Brady, never publically praising him, yet before he played his first game, he was already praising Newton about how he had been looking in practice and his leadership Cam has always seemed like a guy who needed his ego stroked to do well. Brady may have been different and needed to have a chip on his shoulder at all times to try and out do himself.
  18. But if the Bills wanted a guy who can dominate just standing back in the pocket staying safe, they wouldn't have taken Allen whose biggest asset is his running ability. With a player like him, you take the risk that he could get hurt, just like he could get hurt standing in the pocket. What Allen needs to do to be successful and have a long career is to learn how to protect himself and go down before contact or get out of bounds. I am
  19. Sorry, forgot that facts aren't allowed here I understand reading comprehension is a rare skill these days. Even less so when your just skimming to find something to trigger you because a response isn't Like OMG, isn't Allen perfect in every aspect and the greats football player ever!' You posted stats from one game to prove (I assume) that Josh Allen has defences fearing his arm at this point in his career, so I responded with 3 other QBs who had similar stats that I guess must also have defences fearing their arms too.
  20. 1 game Lamar Jackson went 80% for 275 3tds no picks Minshew went 95% for 173 3tds no picks
  21. Allen and Jackson are closer to being the same player then fans want to imagine. The difference is that Lamar is the better runner, while Allen is the better passer of the 2. He has to be able to run to be successful against the league's better teams
  22. And Allen isn't? Teams aren't exactly afraid of his arm (most people always not after games how teams looked to have created their gameplan on defence against the Bills to let Allen try to beat them with his arm). He has an extremely strong arm but that doesn't do any good if players can't catch it (because it was thrown too hard for the situation) or not in a position to be able to catch it
  23. I don't even know if I can say that his problems today we're because he was playing a really good defence. While watching I didn't really think regularly that the defence was play so great (they did play well though). He just seemed to be over throwing Wars and couldn't get anything going. The run game also just didn't seem to be able to get anything going.
  24. This is the way the NFL has been trending for a while now. QBs who can double as RBs to help the offenses keep the defences on their toes. Taking away Allen's runs would be taking away his greatest assets that got him into the league. The plays aren't the issue, the problem is that they need to teach him how to protect the ball and how to avoid so much contact. He needs to learn how to run like a QB (slide or go out of bounds) and not like a RB (take the hit and fight for extra yards). Until he shows he can regularly beat NFL defences with his arm and make all the throws consistently, they need to keep throwing in running plays to keep defences on their toes.
  25. That's actually surprising to me. TB has other weapons and he has been out of the league for over a year following a season where he looked like a shell of his former self. He should have stayed retired
