We'll see what the Mexican troops do now. They have 1 month. As for Canada, again a pledge means nothing. Trump took Office 2 weeks ago. The pledge should have been fulfilled at the latest by that date. And the markets recovered by 10:30 AM.

Mexico has 15,000 troops at the border? Could have fooled, well, everyone. What have they been doing, siesta...ing? As for Canada's pledge, when was it (going to be) implemented? Sounded like a "yeah, whatever" and then when Trump showed he was serious, they did as well.

Not sure why all the kvetching over what happened with Mexico. Trump got them to deploy 10,000 soldiers to the border, Mexico gets help with illegal arms trafficking and no tariffs for at least a month, while they see if the troops are doing their jobs (and with this Admin, they'll be allowed to). Now Canada...

I think I told the story here before but I went to trivia about 6 months ago and a new couple joined us. We got on the topic of politics and they were talking about how social media was doing some amazing things, using the Vance story as one. I said "telling lies is nothing new." And then they tried to say why this was different.

The job is eliminating waste. Meaning he'd have to look at payment systems, some of which I'm assuming would be classified.

I won't feel pain either way. But we're spending $150B annually on illegals which works out to about $900 per taxpayer. And that's something I have to spend. The tariffs probably won't be around long and if they are, I'll just avoid things affected by them if I don't want to pay too much.
