  1. So what are we gonna do tonight Brain? As for this chick...I don't see it.
  2. Steep price tag...but how great would it be to have had Wahle last year? I could see 5mil a year, but he will probably get more than that.
  3. I don't pay too much attention to NBA, so I may be wrong, but I believe they have something similar....kind of. A couple of years ago I was reading about teams trying to bring in FA's, and it said that there is a max cap on what a player can earn, but that cap is different for his current team and other teams trying to get him. So, if a guy plays for the Knicks and his contract is up, the Knicks can pay him a max of 5mil a year (just an example), but if he goes to another team they would only be able to offer him 4mil a year. Sounded like a decent system. It woudn't translate to NFL, but the idea is the same.
  4. The only problem is trades. If no one else does it first, San Fran will almost definately trade down if Ferg is still there. Of course, we could probably trade with them too, and it wouldn't cost much. And I still say no friggin way in hell does he fall to 8....or 7 for that matter.
  5. Moulds is a different situation than the others you mentioned. His salary is way out of line. There is no way even he expected to make that much this year. And I think that if he hadn't had so many problems last year, he would have been willing to restructure again. As for the rest, that has nothing to do with Ralph. The Bills are alway right at the cap limit every year (save a mil or so for emergencies). And even if they weren't, all thos players you mentioned were released when TD was the president and GM. New regime, new rules.
  6. It makes more sense when you look at the whole off-season. It puts Gandy and Williams at guard. The off-season leaves guard by far the weakest point on the team, but it gives us two good tackles (assuming Peters keeps his pace), and a strong center. If one of those guys can make the transition to guard, the line will be improved enough to make headway. Anyway, this draft is based on no trading picks, which is how I feel they will work it. It would be great to get all the help we need, but I don't think it's feasible in one draft/off-season. This will get us headed in the right direction without ignoring the rest of the teams needs.
  7. I put this on the main board along with a full off-season plan...thing, but I thought I'd put this here too. Draft (5 rounds - Write-ups via NFLDraftCountdown) 1. Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon 2. Nick Mangold, C, Ohio State 3a. Anthony Fasano, TE, Notre Dame 3b. Anthony Smith, FS, Syracuse 4. Gerald Riggs, RB, Tennessee 5. Matt Bernstein, FB, Wisconsin I'd like another really good O lineman, but I think this gives us the better value overall. Other than Riggs (who could be a decent backup), I think these guys could all find a place on the starting roster.
  8. You really think Schobel, Adams, and Ngata would be a bad line???? Those guys would be be great together.
  9. Early bird version. I retain the right to call myself an idiot and make any changes deemed neccessary. **Updated 28FEB Cut Eric Moulds, Mark Campbell, Jeff Posey, Bennie Anderson, Ryan Neufield, Mike Williams Restructure (Just tweak the contracts to open up some cap room) London Fletcher Takeo Spikes Re-sign Clements, Edwards, Denney, Thomas, Shneck, Peters, Aiken, Haggan, Stamer, Freddie Smith. Cap Related Using Clumpy's cap page and being VERY general with dollar amounts, I think after these moves the Bills are about 7 -8 mil under the cap. This includes "re-siging" Clements, not just franchising him. Draft (5 rounds - Write-ups via NFLDraftCountdown) 1. Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon 2. Charles Spencer 3a. Anthony Fasano, TE, Notre Dame 3b. Anthony Smith, FS, Syracuse 4. Gerald Riggs, RB, Tennessee 5. Matt Bernstein, FB, Wisconsin Free Agency (see explanation at bottom) Antonio Bryant, WR Kevin Shaffer, LT Proably need another DE for depth along with another versatile O lineman for depth. Depth Chart Rookie, FA QB: Losman, Holcomb, Woodury RB: McGahee, Riggs, Gates WR: Bryant, Evans, Parrish, Aiken, Smith TE: Everett, Fasano, Euhas FB: Shelton, Bernstein LT: Shaffer LG: Spencer C: Preston RG: Villarial RT: Peters OL depth: Gandy, Geisinger, McFarland, Teague DE: Schoebel, FA DT: Adams, Edwards DT: Ngata, Anderson DE: Kelsay, Denney LOLB: Crowell, Haggan MLB: Fletcher, Ezekial ROLB: Spikes, Stamer CB: Clements, McGee, Vincent, King, Greer, Thomas FS: Anthony Smith SS: Milloy Overview Defense: The starters on Defense are strong! The depth at LB is a bit scary, and Smith at FS will have a learning curve. I think the line and 3 strong CB's are capable of helping him along. Offense: The line is still the weakness, but it IS upgraded. Due to Mike Williams being cut and rumor that Preston may be the favorite to step in at Center, I have changed my draft/depth chart. Shaffer/Spencer on the left will be good and finally give JP some time to throw. I am not as down as many on Villarial, and think that he and Peters will be OKAY, but not great. From right to left the line is weak, and could certainly use some extra help. Reggie Wayne is gone, so I changed WR to Bryant. While not as good, he could be a good compliment to Evans. We need to show Shaffer the money and get him here. With another year under their belts, a slightly improved Oline, and strong WR/FB/TE combo, Losman and McGahee could have much better years. * Alternatives WR: Joe Jureviciuos or David Givens DT: Ted Washington or Ryan Picket if the price is right (low) Draft: Guards in 2nd round: Latui or Joseph 4th round: If there is another Guard capable of replacing Villarial that has dropped, take him. Think Setterstrom will go this far, Bill?? Haven't heard anything about him at the combine yet.
  10. If I'm Bentley? Buffalo. It's a couple hour drive home. Given what Bentley has said, if all the teams in comepetition all offered him the same contract, Cleveland would be the team standing in our way. Buffalo will have to outbid Cleveland, and I don't think that's out of the realm of possibility. And to go on record, I don't really care if we get Bentley or not. There are a few different routes the Bills can take this off-season, he is just one. I just don't think that players will not play for the Bills just because they are the Bills. If the money is in line with the other offers they get and the deal feels right, they will come.
  11. The weather excuse is bull. There are a lot of teams in this league that are in cold cities that most players don't want to live in, and top free agents go everywhere. GB, New England, NY, Denver, Cinci, Minnesota, Cleveland (a team Bentley has said he wants to go to) all have cold weather and will all be players in FA like they are every year. Too many people seem to be under the impression that TD is still here. His cheap approach to FA is gone. As far as anyone here knows, Marv/Modrak are going to be overspending on everyone they bring in. Is that good? Of course not, my point is we don't know. A few players have said they want to play for Jauron. They like the guy; like how he coaches and treats the players. He may not be considered the top coach in the league, but I don't think he's going to drive players away from Buffalo. Yes, we have a new front office. So what? Players want to get paid. As long as Marv isn't telling players they have to take LESS to play in Buffalo (ahem), we have just as much shot as bringing these guys in as ALMOST every other team. ALMOST = Of course players will want to play for the top 4 or 5 teams (Pitt, Indy, NE, etc...) IF the money is close. But those teams can't take everyone. Buffalo can be a player in FA if they want to.
  12. No Fresh Prince?? This list is trash.....
  13. Then why even bother? Why would anyone want to come here? There just isn't a point anymore. Sell the team to LA and get it over with.
  14. Yes, he took time to develope...that piss poor bastard! How dare he not come out of the gates as a potential MVP.
  15. Steve Smith...hands down.
  16. I was thinking the same thing. I know there is a college forum, but I think that should be for players and games that are still in college. What is the point of this board in the off-season if you can't talk about draftable players?? The draft board is a good place to put general player threads that people can keep returning to, and also for mock drafts that take place (like that 20 page piece of crap that haunted this board for two weeks). But talks about players and ideas of drafts and players shouldn't be moved. A mistake in my meaningless opinion.
  17. Probably the worst fake phone call ever.
  18. You're trying WAY too hard.
  19. There...I fixed the "bold".
  20. But just in case, I propose we start trading away our 2008 draft picks now.
  21. There won't be any word (other than the standard "coming along") until at least mini camps, probably not until training camp starts.
  22. I agree with Bart. As I said in the other thread, EVERYTHING I've read on Ngata is positive. No pick is a sure thing, but I think he's as close as you get and it's a NEED position. The only place I've heard less than stellar things about Ngata is on TSW. And really, it seems to me that everyone has this attitude like "well, if he's there for the Bills, he HAS to be overated and unworthy". (That's not directed at you Bill) Everyone wants Ferg and Mario, but they just won't be there. Ngata is the best available pick, and he has what it takes to be great.
  23. Oh...sorry, I didn't realize you were this childish. I'll leave you to your tantrum.
  24. I recently had to a bunch of research on the different routes Boeing and Airbus have taken in securing their future. The more I learned, the more I think this A-380 is going to eventually kill Airbus. Boeing's new "dreamliner" is where the future lies. Of course if you look around at all the different arguments one way or the other it's pretty much split down the middle. Only time will tell.
