We are so lucky to have Brandon Beane, the best GM in the NFL. Not just at his job of signing players, but his candor and honesty when speaking with the media. Just an awesome dude all around.

Poyer elbow injury (update: “day-to-day”)

This is the best case scenario in a bad situation. I was fully expecting to hear "out for the season" -
AND they are going to have to hand Tua a top QB contract, LOL

Josh Allen Mic'd Up Bills vs. Green Bay

Yes, and that is not an appropriate metaphor for the situation. "Seeing ghosts" is a metaphor for being rattled by the pass rush, playing scared, and hurrying to get the ball out and making bad plays. While the metaphor exists, he was not seeing ghosts, he was not playing scared. He was playing arrogantly if anything. -
Josh Allen Mic'd Up Bills vs. Green Bay

He stunk in that he made a couple of bad decisions trying to force the ball in order to pick on and humiliate Alexander and it backfired. He was NOT "seeing ghosts". that is a totally different behavior. -
Yeah, those four players are good/great. Four. Good for them. They got marginally better. They got FOUR good players with 14 picks, 7 1st rounds. If that was Beane's record we would be calling for his head.

I pulled the image below from a Dolphins board. They've been tracking their "haul of treasures" they've received since the big Texanstrade, as if the results are anything to be proud of. Let's review... The Dolphins traded Tunsil, Kenny Stills, and a couple picks to the Texans. In return they received a couple 1sts and a 2nd. They then flipped some of those picks for more 1sts. All in all, they have received 14(!) picks: 7 1st round picks 1 2nd round pick 1 3rd round pick 3 4th round picks 2 5th round picks With those 14 picks, (7 1sts) they have added the following cast of "superstars": Noah Igbinoghene Solomon Kindley Jevon Holland Erik Ezukamna Channing Tindall Tyreek Hill Jaylen Waddle Bradley Chubb LOL

That may be the best mic'ed up ever. I love that he tells them not to tell him when he is mic'ed up. Makes it much more real. Plus I love the fact that Josh has nothing to hide. Too many good moments to single any out. Just really cool. -
Good question, my antenna has been down since a recent remodel. Last thing to go back up since we dont ever watch over the air tv, just mainly stream. I've never had an issue staying digital because if the real apps dont work, the "other" site always did. Now neither are working. Guess I have to get on a ladder tomorrow. Or just head to Whitehall Sunday. I dont see that error, the stream just never plays after I click through all the ads like the usual song and dance. Seems buffstreams is gone, and the rest arent as reliable.

If he didnt like the price then they werent available to us and our "budget". Everything is technically for sale if you are willing to pay. But that is silly.
-
Why not?

So you think Beane ignored the IOL and S that were available? I mean, a lot of folks had some good ideas on who was available and most turned out true. It isnt hard to figure out when you look at team standings and player contracts.
-
This is completely irrelevant to the trade deadline and trades being made. No IOL or S were available. Doesnt mean you just give up improving your roster overall because your biggest needs cant be addressed. edit: Plus, Beane picked up a Safety. Not sure he could have done anything more. Did ANY linemen get traded?
-
The last time we traded player/player with Colts was Sheppard/Hughes. Previously, Bell/Biscuit. Hoping this follows the trend...

Yes, I havent been able to get the Bills games on any of the CBS apps lately. They only show CBS News during the games. I just chalked it up to them seeing my IP is Atlanta even though I'm signing in to a Buffalo-based Spectrum account, or a Paramount+ account. The worst news is the pirate site that has worked really well the last few years has seems to "bite" the big one. I cant get any of the pirate streams working either anymore, and I'm pretty good at that stuff. Some other friends reported the same problem. Bummer.

Beane heard the "Moss and a 6th" meme here and made it happen!

Too much cheating.

Well, zero now

Classic Bears.

In this league it's not worth paying a MLB and an old DE when you dont have an offense. Smith contract coming up, so decisions need to be made.
-
This line of thinking. Tua is the only one I'd personally compare Fields to. Josh and Hurts are far better on their own.
-
Bluster isnt a real culture tho. Theyre finding out the hard way.

NFL messing up a good thing (Pat McAfee)
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not necessarily. Keep in mind, I have never seen a contract for myself, but from similar situations being discussed by other media outlets previously, NFL rights contracts are very, very specific. What you can show, when, how long, no pausing, etc. To the point that if I miss PtI on ESPN and watch the replay, they dont show the NFL clips on the replay. They strip all NFL highlights out of the show. Little stuff like that. I wouldnt be surprised to find this verbiage in the existing contract and McAfee's team just didnt see it, or understand it. So they had agreed to a number of stuff they could do and show and that all added up to $4M. Using logos in their own graphics wasnt part of that. Mauybe it only costs an additional $500k/year? Who knows. Sounds like we'll find out tho
