Will 2008 be a Realigning Election?
Bishop Hedd replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Be careful. He is an honest to gawd Texas expert, just check out his livestock/Whitman tower pic! There are a couple past cong. races that sort of allude to the realignment and demo shift we are now seeing. One is Macaca Allen vs Webb Va. -

Except it was Exiled who started the thread. Nevermind. Sometimes I feel like I'm reading Kelly Fair and Balanced. -
Will 2008 be a Realigning Election?
Bishop Hedd replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Gone soon will be that indelible image of the 2004 electoral map of the US which had the whole west coast, most of the Great Lake states and the Eastern seaboard Blue with everything else a big Red. It will continue like this thanks to changing demographics. North Carolina and Virginia have changed that much in the last four years alone that they are in play now. The Gorgia of today has changed in the respect that it bears little resemblence to what it was 8 years ago, let alone 20 or 30. Can we even think about Texas in the blue 8 years from now? -

Dear Senator John McCain
Bishop Hedd replied to PearlHowardman's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Johnny, I thought you were all excited about the VP choice of McCain...at least when it was announced? We're seeing a lot of people fall of her bandwagon. I'm just waiting for the two Buffalo radio talk show hosts, Beurele and Beach, to admit their giddiness (they both said McCain would win in a landslide after the Palin selection) was premature. -
Before this thread devolves into complete gaiety it must be made clear that this Palin person is a complete embarrassment. Many knew this after a cursory check on her record but the the corporate media pretty much gave her a free pass, even after troopergate, her daughter's family way problem, her screwball christianity, her lack of success on e-bay, her wholehearted support for the bridge to nowhere, etc. I didn't even see the Couric interview (sounds legendary already) which I guess will compound problems for the ticket but the republicans should be asking themselves how it ever came down to this. While "The Base"-the knuckle dragging neanderthals who make up Bush's 20 percent approval rating-were absolutely giddy over the Palin selection it has taken a few weeks for most thoughtful cons (Will, Hagel, et al) to read the handwriting on the wall and respond in true horror. I didn't think anybody could top Quayle but Miss Sarah has managed to lap him around the track. http://www.buffalobeast.com/

Can Obama Run The Clock Out?
Bishop Hedd replied to molson_golden2002's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It should be all over for Palin/McCain shortly. In an act of sheer desperation Fox is reporting that Palin/McCain will go negative in a big way with the Wright/Ayers crap all over again. Should all be over shortly. -
Bills warn rowdy fans...
Bishop Hedd replied to stephenjames716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm really perplexed how they traced it to me. When I recieved the letter last week I thought it was some sort of mistake, then I got pissed and threw the letter out. I tried calling the guy who sold me my season tickets a week ago but have had no luck yet. I can only gather that the people who took my seats after we left told security that those were their seats but they lost the tickets. Either way it is kind of a half assed way of dealing with security issues. We'll see what happens tomorrow. For those that question the wisdom of leaving early time was I would never think of leaving a game in progress (when I was in my twenties back in the '90's...early 90's) but with the game out of hand like it was against the Seahawks and the weather conditions being what they were what would be the point to watch them slog it out for another quarter? Did I miss something spectacular? All I know is I made it to Weichecs in Kaisertown and was chowing down on wing dings when the final gun sounded. -

Bishop Hedd replied to stephenjames716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I don't like is that they sent me a letter even though my friend and I left the stadium on our own accord during the middle of the third quarter with the game well in hand. They're telling me that basically I'm responsible for whoever sits in my seats after I've vacated the stadium. Ridiculous! Nothing this organization does surprises me anymore. -
You just answered your own question; "if there's nothing to hide, then cooperate". Of course there's something to hide or her and the husband would be all over Sean Hannity's program proclaiming their innocence over this partisan witch hunt. Oh wait...she is.

She nailed the accent and Palin's complete befuddlement with anything outside of her safe little insular Alaskan world of mooseburgers (Bush doctrine; "I don't know what that is"), Fey should be a considerable source of amusement this campaign season where her candidacy is already considered a joke.

Baby Joe Mesi wins Democratic Primary
Bishop Hedd replied to JK2000's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It was an interesting primary in WNY a couple days ago. While I couldn't vote for Mesi I probably wouldn't have anyway. He chose the democratic line because it was obviously the only way he could get elected. His previous support of Republican pols in the past, including the dreadful Pataki, has been well documented. While Mary Lou Rath had been taking up valuable real estate in the senate for years Mesi will likely be just as ineffectual...assuming he wins the general election. Hoyt won. I don't really want to talk about this race though it was funny watching Rachacha retard Golisano and politcal vulture Pigeon wind up with egg on their faces. No the big surprise is Kryzan winning the Democratic primary for republipigo supremo Tom "Enron" Reynolds soon to be vacated us congressional seat. She beat out musty, dank millionaire industrialist and libertarian screwball Jack Davis and Iraq war vet, 30 something educator Jon Powers in probably the biggest political upset in WNY history since, well since.... -

We'll find her back in Deerballs, Alaska cooking mooseburgers come November, probably speaking in tongues in that godawful annoying accent of hers. -
I loved Olbermans response to the batty broads church, Palin attends a church were they speak in tongues which means no one, including themselves, can understand what they are saying, sorta like Fox News.
