AW23 Beef with the Bills-Any insight?
Tcali replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lots of them feel their career was wasted here with the top to bottom incompetence. They laugh about this team/organization. most of them will be respectful....And remember I am talking about the yrs not incl 87-99.And I am not talking about the players re the fans.- but re the organization. -

aw has the false idea that pro football teams give a damn about their ex-players. they give a damn if they can get good pub,,or its a big star that will draw fans. most ex-bills cant stand the buffalo bills..-for many reasons -
true--but on the most talented team in the league and with coaches that knew how to use him(exc on that final drive against an exhausted raven team when they ran that idiotic EZ fade when Kap coulda walked it in). I kinda worry that Allen could become another Kap if he doesnt learn some more basics eg screen pass and not panicking when throwing to wide open WRs.

AND Allen not getting the ball in the endzone. same thing vs miami when he was handed tremendous field position time and time again. There is a pattern here.YES--fault lies with the WRs and O line but not all of it -
Did anyone notice something about Sam Darnold?

Freddy was awesome. he would be borderline HofF if he didnt start his NFL career at almost 27 -

Second half: Week 14 Jets at Bills, 1pm CBS

no im talking about exactly what i said. even when he has good protection he stays there too long with his feet glued to the carpet...Then pressure comes in and a panic situation is corrected. Then the running out of the pocket ensues and Allen can be successful at that at times cuz he is big and fast and a good runner.--But he creates some of the problem himself at this point. -
Allen is certainly promising. But his faults re passing arent all specifically about accuracy. he does have a problem there--esp when he has WRs wide open in critical situations. Has he been awful in passing accuracy?? Not lately. Mayfield is by far the superior QB of the 2 right now. Allen may even that out as time goes by. Lets not get carried away here. Allens play is a bit chaotic separate from his butterfingers receivers.

the CB could mug the receiver back then. Kemp was a winner. He made the throws when they had to be made and he didnt do dumb stuff. 3000 yds for LA chargers. 15 yds per catch over whole career.65-37 career record. Dickerson is one of the all time greats.right up there ps-so true about his running style--it was so smooth and effortless looking--but no one could stop him -

Rivers isnt elite. He has been a mistake machine his whole career. Big stats and tons of screw ups -

Namath was an amazing QB. People dont remember that his knee was completely shredded in (68? ) and he was hobbling on one leg for the rest of his career. His release was incredibly quick and his accuracy was dead on AND when he wasnt a cripple he was an excellent runner. Amazing the dumb comments from people who never saw the guy play. Kinda like the under 50 crowd who say that Thurman was a better RB than OJ. -based on what they read on the internet on Stats sites. Give me quality and brilliance when judging a player. Gayle Sayers was one of the greats. -

True and right on the money...esp the point about him getting less beat up when he runs.I dont think many people grasp that. -

it would help---but still he has many many many things to work on. Very raw. And wastes a lot of scoring opportunities. A QB needs to take responsibility out there. Last week tons of yards a few points. Today tons of yards and hardly a point in the 2nd half. Some of that is on him also
