  1. Just wow. I've thought Dennis Thurman was a big part of the problem this year and still do. As a coordinator on the side of the ball that the Head Coach is involved in, he's responsible for teaching and implementing the game plans that Rex designs. The players have been confused all year and a big part of that has to be Thurman's coaching. I hope Rex recognizes that he needs a better DC and replaces him. This interview inspires no confidence at all.
  2. I think where we disagree then is I believe the game film of Mario just giving up on tons of plays this year proves Mario handled it the wrong way.
  3. Marrone got the gift of the healthiest team in a decade with a dominating defense and barely had a winning season.
  4. Mismanagement can absolutely cause players to be disgruntled but there's correct ways for a player or employee to handle it and there's wrong ways. Mario has chosen the latter and that's on him. It's obviously a failure all around but you're just blaming Rex and not taking into account the other side which I feel is short sighted.
  5. I want players on my team that don't want to let their teammates down. Mario is being selfish and not a team player. I don't care what the scheme and coaching is, you don't screw over your teammates like he has. Bye Mario.
  6. I've been on several megaships and probably ten cruises total. Love them. The megaships are the best, so much variety and so much to do!
  7. Looks great to me!
  8. I think Michael Floyd is a really good option that can be had at a decent price. Good over the middle / intermediate target where we struggled this year.
  9. Usually a head coach who is involved in one side of the team is responsible for the playcalling and scheme while the coordinator is responsible for teaching it. Given all the confusion this year on defense I think it's fair to place blame on the coordinator for the poor job on teaching the defense. Crossman has a history of generally terrible special teams with last year being an anomaly. Agreed in Lal and Lee, they're doing a great job.
  10. What about Doug Marrone's time here made you think he was a decent coach?
  11. Huge loss. He was supposed to be their edge rusher. And they have pass rush issues with a good offense. 30th ranked pass defense in the league because of lack of rush. Fit makes a lot of sense I think for them to go after him.
  12. I think his personality is to be all out for himself and those people tend to maximize money. Jacksonville also runs a 4-3.
  13. Mario is going to go to a team that gives him the most money. Without looking I know the Jags D is terrible and I assume they have a ton of cap room. I'm guessing Jacksonville.
  14. I totally agree on Jeffrey being special that way, I don't think there's a lot of receivers as good as he is in the NFL right now. My point was more that Charles Clay has the body type to develop into that type of receiver at the TE spot who can make contested catches. Arm length is the same (33" for each) and vertical jump for Alshon was 36.5", Clay 33.5". I'd like to see him use his athleticism more because he has the measurables to do it, but he's not near as good at using it on the field as Alshon is, so we have the potential to have someone develop into that. Whether or not he will is another story. In my ideal world we sign Jeffrey and Benjamin to get another burner/sideline guy in Benjamin and a tough receiver in Jeffrey, but I doubt it'll happen cause cap. Probably more likely we sign Benjamin and draft a big WR like Michael Thomas from Ohio State to fill the trust catch role. I wouldn't mind that combo at all.
  15. Benjamin is a weird case. He's actually a lot like Sammy in his Suceess rate on 9 routes is fantastic. He also is very good at comeback, curl, and slant routes. I feel like this compliments Tyrod's game a ton. I agree that it'd be good to get a big WR but we've got a big weapon in Clay, same height as your guy Alshon. I think Tyrod could utilize Benjamin's talents well as their strengths match up quite a bit (deep ball, sideline curl, etc).
  16. Draft round is a bad way to judge talent. For example: 2014 Jets D by Talent 2014 1st Round Dee Miller - Sucks. 4th String this year. Calvin Prior - Rookie Sheldon Richardson - Great Player Quinton Coples - Sucks. Cut mid-season. Mo Wilkerson - Great Player Kyle Wilson - Sucks. Cut. Calvin Pace - Good player but older, not as good last year as he was. 2nd round: David Harris - Great player 7 first rounders and David Harris So out of that list, 2 were cut, 1 relegated to fourth string, and 1 who has slowed down. That's 50% of that list.
  17. Hey look it's the same thread we've already had 15 other times!
  18. Travis Benjamin is a stud who has been underused. I'd love to grab him. I think he's a legit #2.
  19. Especially when it comes from the same people over and over. We get it, you're frustrated with how this season went. Let's have football discussions, not "9-7 8-8" or "Wrecks Ryan" over and over. It's taken over every single thread.
  20. I might have to take a break from this board. People don't seem to want to talk football anymore. They just want to vent frustrations and it's pointless.
  21. I agree. This team was flat for the entire year, especially that first game after he got cut, the opening game win vs Indy. They had no heart and didn't compete in that game. Obviously they should have won much more than 27-14. There are a couple that stand out for me: - The Giants Game. That put them behind the 8-ball for the entire season. - Tyrod's Injury. Not having him cost us the Jags game. - Aaron Williams and Kyle Williams Injuries. This really put the screws on our D; Not having Kyle really hurt the D-Line and Aaron is a dynamic player in Rex's D.
  22. Whoever I bet on after the lines come out.
  23. What's the success to failure rate on free agent moves and draft picks across the league? What's Whaley? It's completely my perception, I don't have the data, but I believe Whaley is league average or better in these areas. And I think he's very strong in trades. Any argument without this data is not very useful and I'd love to see the data myself. Best way to judge him. Every GM has a huge contingent of misses.
  24. I don't think we are top ten on paper. We don't have near the talent of teams like Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Seattle, etc.
