    Does it really have that much of an effect? I don't think it does. Look at all the players in the NFL Hall of Fame, NHL hall of fame, etc. You don't find a lot of family lineage there. You can't measure how well a father teaches their kid a sport by how well they played on the field.

    The House won't do much honestly. This 2-year cycle will be shown by the media as gridlock government at its worst, with the House refusing to get along with the Senate, congress with the whitehouse, and Democrats vs Republicans. The best thing for Republicans is to have the incumbency advantage for the next election cycles.

    Its more then just the candidates, its also the historically extremely poor Democratic turnout rates.

    Actually, they most likely won't even count my vote at all. The races aren't supposed to be close, and they don't count absentee ballots unless they are close. So by that logic, I didn't vote.

    Wrong. There have been exit polls released for early voting for lots of different races (Texas governor is one).
