  1. Nice spin. Obama didn't support the candidate that would do a better job and that would advance the ideals that he is purporting to claim. Now, you're assuming that the "and believe in" statement is referring to Obama's staying neutral due to his message of government reform. However, we don't know this to be the case. Take a look at the whole quote: It could easily mean that Obama believes in himself and his cause, and in order to not screw it up for himself and his opportunity to run for President, he compromised on his values in order to progress further up the chain.
  2. Clam up, since they have absolutely no evidence to convict anyone of anything.

  5. lawlz, knowing who was driving the car = being involved in a hit and run? You define "involvement" a bit differently than I do.
  6. O RLY? His car = he was there now? Stop embarrassing yourself with this line of reasoning.
  7. Today on RCP was an article by Jay Cost as a frame for the general election. I've said on here a few times that both candidates were particularly appealing this year because they were both viewed as "change" candidates, and ones who were, at least part of the time, viewed as centrist. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/horserace..._a_frame_o.html Much of this is the reason why Obama and McCain are close. I was arguing this point of view with OCinPhilly when he asked how the Democrats seemingly made it closer than it should have been, though I said it much less eloquently than the article made it. He also describes IMO an accurate view on why Obama convinced the super delegates and not Clinton.
  8. Lets sign both Jones and Benson [/lawlz]

  17. lol, this coming from someone who was mad about people always throwing around the race card in immigration threads. Is it cool to throw around racism for other topics, just not immigration?
  18. A post whore is someone who posts a lot of messages on a forum just for the sake of posting. Someone who posts a large volume but contributes to discussions, such as AD, is thus not a post whore.
  19. Where did I say he was being victimized? What I said was that the facts didn't add up, and that given APD's history, it was a possibility that the cops were in the wrong in that incident. That being said, the facts STILL don't add up in that boating case, especially since there were two eyewitnesses who both claim the cops being abusive toward Ced. We still don't have a clue whether Cedric was guilty, innocent and abused by police, or if Ced was guilty of bwi and the cops were guilty of being overaggressive in their handling of the situation. Without a doubt, there is some part of that story that is still not on record. Quite frankly, we don't know if he was or was not drunk in this case either. They didn't say anything about a BAC or him failing any other types of tests, so we'll have to wait and see about that one. From the sounds of the article, we may never know. I won't hesitate to call him a moron though. You just got arrested for BWI (true or not), you don't freaking put yourself in a situation where you are driving after you've had some drinks with dinner and are flirting with being drunk. :wallbash:
  20. Aww, poor finkottle, still has a grudge against the guy who the best candidate of the two parties. Its quite funny to see your obsession with him.
