I'd like to propose some new names for the conference (stealing most of these from a Texas board): - Southern Unified Conference, or SUC - Big East 2 - Dead Horse Conference - Suicide Pact Conference - Lame Duck Conference - dog**** Conference - Not BCS Worthy Conference - The Big Zero - The Big Disappointment - The Slaughterhouse Ten God, this sucks.

God damnit. This was the worst thing that could have possibly happened. The Big 12 is a cluster!@#$. The only reason why Texas wants to save it is Beebee's guarantee of TV money + UT being able to get its own Network to generate some extra bucks.

Chuy's is a south-central texas chain now. I think the food's pretty good, but it might not be as good as you remember.

There's also talk that the SEC might not take A&M without Texas or OU.

Do you think there's any reliable way to judge an offensive lineman's talent in the above scenario, given how bad predictability is for them? It seems like a logistical nightmare to try to judge last year's O-line given what you just said.

There's been a lot of talk from players and fans alike that other teams knew exactly what we were running last year. However, what I haven't heard anyone quantify is how much of an affect that has on the offensive line. If other teams know exactly what you are running, play in and play out, that has to have a big effect on how well you are at blocking. The question is: how much of an affect does it actually have? If other teams knew what you were running each play, would it be easy to overpower the O-line? Should the O-line be able to hold their ground even if the other teams knew what they were running? Personally, I think it's a stretch to say that a good OL would have held their ground regardless. It's pretty unrealistic given how big and athletic the d-line is in the NFL. However, I'm not sure how much the offensive line play will improve with an unpredictable scheme.

Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?

The one time I used that (way back when I had the devil's cable company), it crashed my box. Oh yeah, that doesn't let you skip commercials too, even if you were DVRing the show. -
Gizmodo's grasping at straws here because Apple didn't invite them.

God I'd love to see how fast Ubuntu 10.04 boots on that bad boy. I bet it'd be like 3 seconds.

This thread is pretty ridiculous. There are *tons* of variables involved here. Simply saying "my G5 iMac smokes my 3ghz Dell" means nothing. Unless you're comparing base OS installs with the same exact hardware (a feat which is pretty much impossible without buying a brand new mac, immediately installing bootcamp, and doing the exact same benchmarks under Windows as Mac OS X), there's nothing to say about Speed. Same with reliability. It's basically impossible to measure reliability numbers across platforms. When talking about the whole virus & malware deal, there are multiple reasons for the discrepancy. Here are the top 3 in order, imo: 1.) The popularity of the platforms 2.) The way users use the operating system (which is largely due to the difference between the default user models, but MS is trying to change that in a kinda dumb way) 3.) The architecutre of the platforms (BSD vs Windows security models)

Six month Assessment of Nix Gailey regime

1.) They haven't had six months yet. 2.) You're asking how good they are at marketing. -
http://www.cnbc.com/id/37392344 There is so much money in Macau right now, it's insane. Based off of the numbers, Casino Revenue is 4x higher in Macau than it is Las Vegas. What do you economics guys think about this? How does this reflect on the US Government?

All I have to say about Orakpo is that everyone on this board, who said to never draft another Texas Longhorn, was 100% right. Just like Cedric Griffin, Michael Griffin, Aaron Ross, Vince Young...... er.... um.... wait.

People don't do meth recreationally? Should have told that to my friends in college, that would do it on occasion, recreationally. -
Years of eating at Schobels has created 3 NFL football players. Aaron Schobel of the Buffalo Bills, Matt Schobel of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Bo Schobel of the Indianapolis Colts. They still come home whenever possible and during off-season and enjoy the meals they have for years. http://www.schobelsrestaurant.com/Schobels...urant/about.htm

I can see why. I loved Stripsteak! I'm going to head back to Vegas in August, any suggestions on which steakhouse I should try? I wouldn't mind eating at Stripsteak again, but trying the other celebrity chefs places are fun.

I love me a good Fillet. I just ate at Michael Mina's Stripsteak in Vegas and it was absolutely fantastic! They cook the Fillet there wonderfully - you get three different flavors: The flavor of the meat, the flavor of the grill, and the flavor of the butter poaching that they use on it. The combination of the three is fantastic. My girl's Ribeye was also great, but you couldn't taste all three flavors nearly as well - hence one of the reasons why I love Fillets. Done right, it can be a more complex taste than other steaks. BTW, the Duck-fat Truffle Fries and the Truffled Mac N Cheese were to die for! The next night I also ate at Hubert Keller's Fleur De Lys. Ate the Prix Fixe 4-course menu, which included a Fillet. Even though Fleur De Lys is supposed to be a "better" restaurant, I liked the Fillet at Stripsteak much better. The Fillet at Fleur De Lys was cooked in a way that didn't give it much flavor outside of the meat, which meant a not-so-tasty Fillet. Fortunately, the Truffled Onion Soup, Yukon Gold Veal Ravioli, and Popcorn-flavored Ice Cream more than made up for it!
