Wait what did he say? Love that dude

    Its a quick watch. < 2 mins.

Basically said it is a loss for the Bills but not a huge one given he faded away for 2 seasons in a row. Allen always having to answer "are you good with Stefon?" etc

we have huge holes to fill in secondary.  Need to prioritize it in draft.  Dejean reminds me of Hyde.  Could come in and fill immediate need. I also like Cole Bishop in round 3 or 4 if he’s available.

    Need? Absolutely not.

So, no. No to a first round DB when it's a deep draft for WR and we need one , badly.

    Did I say no?

  3. Wilson is not starter material and I agree that with Taylor on the team, Wilson is useless for the Jets.

But it also makes me wonder what the Jets' long term plan for a starting QB is. Rodgers will play for what another 2 seasons max? What then?

I post this not with any genuine concern but with a sense of glee.

Yes the days of coddling 1st, 2nd and 3rd round players is over. Trial by fire....sink or swim.

That's already happened. Torrence and Kincaid started and Benford, a 6th round rookie, did too

I never get too excited for 40 times with safeties.  It doesn't translate well to being a "good player" as much as having a high football IQ, instincts, and CHANGE OF DIRECTION ability.

Not saying that 40 time is insignificant (it IS).  Acceleration to recover from separation, providing over the top help with corners, closing on a ball carrier.  All these things and more are helped by a good 40.

But if you don't have the other important intangibles, all you are is an amazing track star.

Cole Bishop is more than that for sure.  Definitely worth a look if he's the BPA.

Yea, speed by itself isn't the determining factor for safety, or any position for that matter. But speed in our D backfield is needed to cover the likes of Tyreek Hill.

I suppose you won't tell us who this "someone" is either.

The Bills have to have a draft more like the 2017 draft this year…. We need a true blue and two red chippers at least, imho…

i really hope I’m wrong about Kincaid.

I am pretty sure you are wrong but this season will show us more. I think he did very well in his rookie season and appears to be a good kid. So I expect him to work on his craft and improve.

Let us temper expectations about his stats though. Presuming we add a blue chip WR in the first round, there will be a lot of good hands for Allen to throw to. On the Chiefs, Kelce is their #1 receiving threat. Kincaid doesn't and should not need to be that for the Bills. WR should be primary and TE for blocking, making lot of first downs and scoring TDs.

I like the way Brady started using him later in the year. Early in the year, those OTB check-downs, literally anyone can do that stuff. You play to Kincaid's strengths by using him down the seam and on the Y cross stuff, which is what Brady started doing. So I have super high hopes. Kincaid is a dude.

This is my take as well. The way he was used was different with Brady and made me believe it was Dorsey's asks of him which limited his effectiveness as well as his development. Perhaps Dorsey did not trust him enough to run the deeper and more complex routes?

Now it is up to Kincaid to put in the work in the off season on his body, his mechanics and understanding of route concepts. If he does that, I truly believe he will be one of the top 3 TEs next season. There is no reason to believe he won't put in the work - kid looks to be a good dude.

I don't disagree with what you are saying about it not being a vacuum, I do however definitely disagree that WR is our weakest position.  Don't get me wrong, I 100% want WR first, even a trade up, we need a succession plan to Diggs and this draft has too much talent.

But, we are definitely weaker at other positions right now.  Diggs, Samuel, and Shakir is a pretty strong trio of WR's while we are missing starters all over our defense.

Again, I am on your side...I too want a WR and I am hoping we go get Thomas or Odunze if he somehow slips to 20...or if not maybe trade back a short bit from 28 to add another 3rd and then take one of Coleman, Leggette, Franklin, McConkey, or Pearsall near the top of the 2nd.

I still think WR is most likely our first pick, and hope so too.  Just saying, it wont surprise me if we either wait until the 2nd or make a trade back first and then go WR either.

Fair points but the way I look at it, which position group which is currently weak can positively impact the outcome of games if filled? Imo, it's an outside WR who will complement the current group of receivers and then allow a broader set of plays almost impossible for an opposing team to defend. If we hit on such a WR in the draft, even if he has 50-60 catches, those will change the nature of our passing game.

As I said a few days ago, we have gone down the road of beating the chiefs by loading up on defense. Yet we failed every time it mattered. Time to take a different strategy and complement our best asset JA17

Worst mistake is passing up talent to reach for a position.

That cannot be labelled "worst mistake" in a vacuum. Generally on stacked rosters or in a weak draft class, this is true.

But, this is a rare year where our weakness is matched with a good draft class for that position. Besides that, our main rival also needs WRs and will undoubtedly pick the best available at their #32 spot.

So, if the BPA is a DT and the next best WR is let's say ranked #29-#31 on the Bills' board, you take the WR to strengthen your own team to help outscore the Chiefs and also to keep that guy away from that rival.

Doing anything but a WR would be a great example of being a slave to the BPA strategy without thinking of these other angles. I don't think Beane will get too cute. He will draft a WR at #28 or move up a bit

If I were betting on it I think the Bills draft a different position at 28 and then trade up in the 2nd for a WR.

And thereby risking the Chiefs take the next best WR? I seriously doubt it. The last thing we need is for Beane to be such a slave to the value charts that he passes on a WR he has pegged as a #30 pick (as an example) because "the value wasn't there". I would rather be move up a bit or down before the Chiefs to get a WR.

Samual absolutely can play outside, but a unique quality our top 3 WRs now have is outside/slot flexibility. All 3 are effective in the slot, and all 3 are effective out wide.

Samuel reminds me SO MUCH of prime John Brown.

Kincaid/Knox also are effective in the slot, Cook out wide.

    Brady must be drooling.

Cook needs to work on his catches. Towards the end of the season he was dropping too many balls for my liking

I don’t blame them but I don’t like it either. It’s a different form of nepotism. It’s like, “he’s an easy personality to have in the room and not a real threat to the job.” More power to him, but I think it’s BS that a more qualified individual doesn’t get the opportunity because he’s a known “nice guy.”

Without a doubt. I am not disagreeing with what you are saying. My point is that it's not Peterman's fault that he keeps getting jobs. He sucks on the field but has done a good job marketing himself.

He’s the worst player to ever play in the NFL. That’s not hyperbole. When you factor in the importance of the position, he’s the worst player ever.

I never liked Peterman because I felt like he was stealing money from more deserving people. Here we are, however many years later, and he is still taking a job from someone more capable of doing the job. I’m glad he isn’t taking a roster spot on this team.

He is a terrible football player, agreed. But to your words of "he is still taking a job", it's the front offices who are willingly paying him. I really don't blame him or his agent to continue getting employed as a player.

McGovern is gonna be that guy. I think they really like Edwards as well as he is a Kromer guy. I do too. McGovern is a natural center, played center in high school, so the dude has been snapping a long time. He will be fine. Draft somebody late sure, but there is no reason to spend a high draft pick on a center.

Not on center necessarily, but I really want one of the 4th round picks to go to OL. We have to keep the pipeline full on that line.

Of our top 4 picks, 2 each on O and D makes sense to me. WR, S, DT/DE and OL.
