The Bills need to stop worrying about minor holes or future problems. They aren’t losing to KC because of OT depth. They need to start outgunning people. If they are going to win a Super Bowl it is because of Josh Allen and his weapons.

They aren’t built like Baltimore or SF. This isn't meant to be a balanced roster that would be a borderline playoff team with Kyle Allen. They’re more like the KC teams of the last 6 years. They go as Allen goes. Upgrading at WR is more important than the next 4 biggest needs combined.

Agreed on more weapons on O. I also think the strategy should be to load up on weapons to just score a lot of points. The D then can play a different game. With JA at the helm this team more than any in the past should aim for all sorts of offensive records and points.

A hypothetical “would ya”: pick 4 (assuming MHJ) is on the board for Elam, Bernard, pick 28, pick 60, 2025 1st  and 2025 3rd

Obviously that’s a hefty price but I’m trying to come up with something that would be considered. I saw something like this on twitter. At first I was like, “that’s too much” but after thinking about it that probably makes the Bills the team to beat. You’d re-sign Dodson to play next to Milano. I think that I would make that deal.

Naah. Not on board with this plan no matter how can't miss he looks like.

. They should swing big, whether they trade up or take 2 in the 1st three rounds.

In order to pass KC (and others) you have to outgun them. You have to trade scores. The Bills have proven over and over that they can’t get the late stop. Instead of worrying about that, score more points and it won’t matter. if you have a top 15ish defense (which they always do) that’s good enough. You will win because of Josh, nothing else. Give him everything that he needs and then worry about whatever else.

Better strategy to take two in the top 3. But I also think another vet WR is needed on this team. Harty , Davis and Sherfield can all go

It was more not having our two starting LB's (Milano and Bernard) specifically against KC that really hurt us.  Reid/Mahomes just kept attacking the middle of the field as Klein and Dodson are poor coverage linebackers.  I doubt Dodson was even at 100%.  Seeing Klein getting burned over and over again by Kelce was maddening.  Especially frustrating because we finally caught them in the playoffs without Tyreek or any legitimate WR weapon outside of Kelce.

The TOP was very high for us. The issue, v as has been discussed ad nauseum, is that we didn't end too many drives in TDs.

Even with D talent, we have shown to be incapable of stopping them in the playoffs. That's why I think the solution is to load up on O and just score a lot.

You can bet that Reid will draft WRs in the upcoming draft and attempt to stay ahead. We have to leap frog, not just keep trying to catch up

This team is actually going through some drastic changes this offseason... it has me excited!!!

Kudos for injecting the enthusiasm here. I admit I am still not feeling too great after losing yet again to the Chiefs in the playoffs.

But good to read your post and I hope this offseason brings the changes needed for us to finally get over the hump

And I'm not in a rush to bring any of our big ticket free agents back to be honest. I'd be interested in DaQuan if he is willing to take a 1 year deal and AJE if he ends up not finding his value on the market and circles back on a reasonable deal. But Gabe Davis, Micah Hyde, Leonard Floyd, Jordan Phillips, Tim Settle, Poona Ford... they can all go.

Of that list, I would like to bring Floyd back especially if we make the tough (and correct) decision to let Miller go.

Again, you don't need to surround Josh with as much talent as you do Tua to have a highly productive offense.

Not to derail this discussion but yes we need to surround Josh with more talent than he has. One could think that we couldn't sign DHop because of cap constraints - one player who could have changed the ultimate outcome of the Bills season .

Again, I don't want to hijack this thread. But paying Tua will affext their ability to get the level of talent they have now. But Dolphins need to pay him. He is a good guy and a good enough QB

He coached a great game and never deviated from how he played 4th down all season.  His players let him and Goff down immensely.

Also known as stubborn and bone headed. This isnt a linear, if-then-else situation. He was wrong to go for it instead of taking the 3 at that point. The margin for error was very slim. He cost his team the game

I don’t get this line of thinking.. which is very common. EVERY great coach won because of their QB… I can’t think of one GREAT HC who didn’t have a great QB with him.

Brady would have won Superbowls but you cannot deny that he won more Superbowls because of BB's coaching. I remember several close games which were won by your team due to tight game management

Bill is 71 years old. He has won 6 SB's as a HC and been a part of others as a DC. There's really nothing left for him to do or prove. I honestly think he's done. I don't think he'll coach again now that he didn't get the Falcons job. I think he ends up on TV somewhere doing pregame/post game work.

He has something to prove. That he can win a Superbowl with another team. Similar to Tom Brady.

If BB coaches even 2-3 years and wins a SB, he will ride off into the sunset and not have "he could only win with Brady" on his legacy

I am beginning to believe that Diggs may be a one trick pony who is a bit played out.  Various corners have been highly effective in shutting him down.  There remains a question as to whether scheme is an issue in his decline. Whatever the reason, his drop in production has been alarming and problematic.

Yes, it is troubling but again, the offseason will tell if he was somewhat injured to limit his production. If we really get a stud WR in the draft, the pressure and coverage on Diggs will go down and we will have a more diversified WR group. I still value Diggs for his drive, experience and as a mentor

  9. Here is my plan:

Keep Diggs - I think he was battling injury. He is still a viable force and a mentor for a draftee

    Draft one in Rd 1

    Shakir as #3

Round off with a second tier FA

Look at progress of Shorter and Shavers

    Another lower (Rd 5+ pick)

We cannot just depend on the draft. We need at least one FA, maybe 2 to round off the roster

As I have said before, I would fire McDermott if I was the owner. Not for all of the BS reasons that people on here gripe about, but because I believe that coaches have a lifecycle if a team is not winning championships. Larry Bird, when he coached the Pacers, said that after 5 years that a team stops listening to a coach. So you either have to get a new coach or new players and it's a lot easier to fire one guy than get a new roster.

We are looking for a coach to take the team over the hump. If a proven coach is not available, you stick with McD. Because choosing an upcoming HC can back fire and the team can get worse. By the time that happens, another 25% of Allen's career would be gone.

I just hope if Brady is the OC then we change how we play, these long time consuming drives at not it.  Get back to quick strike and big chuck play football

That is fine if our D is good. I am pretty sure there was a deliberate strategy to keep the Chiefs O off the field (Like the Giants did with the Bills in the Superbowl). The intent also was to end those long drives in TDs as often as possible. This was a good plan given how undermanned we were on D. Mahomes marching down the field proved it.

The issue was that we didn't have the reliable and multiple weapons to end in TDs.

McBeane should have learned this lesson by now - you have to out gun the likes of the Chiefs and not build a multi layered D to stop them. With Reid and Mahomes, the Chiefs will find different ways to score TDs. We just have to be built to score more

Plus Diggs is 31 this next season, we need a succession plan.  So for me, I want to see them go get a guy who has WR1 potential rather than a guy who just compliments a WR1 like Digss with size.  Hopefully, that WR1 also brings size to the table too though :)

That's why it is critical and important to draft a WR with our top pick. I don't care if they overdraft by a couple of positions if a good one is available. The rookie will be the heir apparent to Diggs after 2025.

But we will need at least one other vet to round off the mid to bottom of the WR roster.

I dearly hope that Harty and Sherfield never again wear a Bills uniform.

Davis, Sherfield and Harty were not the answers.  Have to reload at get the right WRs this year.

Imo, Beane's biggest offseason mistake was to not sign DHop. He just had to do the required capology to make the $$s work.

If we had him, I truly believe this season would have gone much differently and we would be very much alive.
