What team is going to give us a 1st round pick for a CB with one season remaining on his contract without first knowing that he would extend?
I wouldn't even give up a 2nd for that. CBs can be found in round 2 also. I might give a 3rd.
But if Clements doesn' t play this season, even a 6th is better than nothing.
Your gut hunch is justified. Just look at our recent drafts.
Let's see how it shakes out though. Panic won't help.
I agree though, if they trade up, it'll be a huge mistake unless it's for a player like Mario Williams.
That's exactly right but you have to have the DTs to stop the run. Do we have them?
The entire thing falls apart from there if you don't. Tripplett has never been promoted as a run stopper.
Atlanta's rushing offense comes almost entirely from Vick. I didn't use them because they are an odd team in that way. Minus Vick's rushing, the Falcons fall out of the top 10.
Seattle's rushing allowed in those games-
Jags 119
Falcons 115
Skins 141
Dallas 164
NYG 166
That's an average of 141.
Only one of the defenses that you mentioned were in the top 10 for stopping the run and that was Tampa in a division with Carolina and the Saints, two teams not exactly solid rushing teams. And the reason why Tampa's as good as they are is due to their superior linebacking and secondary.
Seattle and Carolina were in the top 5 and neither has big tackles, but then neither plays in a division with anything more than average running teams. It might also be why Seattle allowed nearly 200 yards rushing to the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
Right, or else Levy and Jauron get fired and Wilson hires another stiff that scrapes off the urinal cake for another coach and repeat this exercise again as everyone keeps defending Wilson just because he wants to keep a horrible team around to string everyone out on.
But hey, the sheep will keep coming to the trough like trained mules.
Shouldn't that depend?
If they lose 10 games over two seasons posting winning records twice, then great. If they lose 10 of their first 12, well then, why keep them around? What, Levy's "ripening" mentally as he nears 90?
We'll find out when we face NE on the road. I'm sure that the 2nd half tape will give the other teams that we play the pattern for beating us.
Right now all we've done is replace Teague with Fowler and maybe Anderson with Gibson or one of last season's rookies.
Sound "Marvy?"
Exactly! And just like trained animals the market responds. Pro sports are becoming more and more for the hoity toity when it comes to attending games.
DE: Most agree we're solid? Huh? Most think that Kelsay and Denney aren't starter caliber. Only homers here think differently.
Tripplett's a legit starter? Then why didn't he start in Indy?
Peters started what, four games?
Fowler was strictly a backup. He's getting the money that Teague got to play LT.
Anderson and Gandy were penalty factories last season and combined for over half the penalties of all players that played line.
You say from what you hear. Didn't you watch the games last season?
