I am relatively new to posting on this board and I apologize if this has been posted before, but I would like to know out of the stadiums that you have been to, who has the best atmosphere? I am going to be a homer here and say Ohio State. Starting at Skull Session two hours before the game, basically a pep rally, to when the band does the famous ramp entrance, and having the stadium rock during O-H-I-O it really is something else. Plus, script Ohio is one of the better traditions in the country. I have been to Michigan and honestly it wasn't as loud as you might think for 110,000. Places I want to go to are, Death Valley (at night of course), Tennessee (although they are the team I hate almost as much at UM), a Rose Bowl (hopefully this year), and Notre Dame.

Steele's was great! Packed with info, and the shorthand is bad at all. It has two pages on EVERY D-IA team. Not for the casual fan, but if you are a die-hard college football fan it really is the premier magazine.

I have friends that play soccer and I try to watch it but I just can't get into it. I understand how fit you have to be to play soccer, but everytime I see a soccer player take a dive and roll on the grass trying to get a more severe card just turns me off from the game. It's also another one of those sports that are great live, but suck on TV.

Personally, I wasn't impressed by Athlon this year. It doesn't have anything about non top 25 teams and other than the conference that you choose. For about the same price I can get every team in Steele's mag that I finally picked up this year.

I personally like the college system better, I think it is much more exciting. Plus, they don't end in ties which is great...games going into 5 or 6 OTs.

Yeah, I like them a lot. They have a real nice low-key, chill feel to them. I have one of their albums, Know by Heart.

Penn State sure has the right schedule to do well. They play OSU, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin at home. They play Northwestern, Ill., and the damn school up north on the road. Sure UM is big, but the fans there aren't as loud as you would think. Plus, playing in Baver Stadium PSU is used to the big crowds. They also have a really weak pre-season. All this talk has kinda worried me a bit...

Out of 80 some players at the pre-draft workout, Bogut was ranked in the high seventies. Apparently, his footwork is awful.

Amherst was named the safest city in the country, so if that was a concern...

In Dublin, a subarb of Columbus where I live, the rec league has a draft every year where coaches select players based on the rating they were given by their coach the year before. Of course there are teams that suck and ones that are good, but it all works out. I also umpire baseball and referee basketball and parents these days are CRAZY!!!! I've been told not to walk a kid becuase the pitcher would get "really stressed and hurt." Also, that I "should be nicer when I call strike three, some kids don't like it when umpires call strike three."

What makes me mad about the players is when the player reps, such as Todd Merchent refer to a salary cap as a form of slavery and that they "might as well put us in shackles." Here in Columbus the news showed most of the clip, about what they are doing is it making better for the fans and how he blames the players, and he still sounds like a jerk. GG, I watch almost every Blue Jackets game on TV and as a broke college kid, I don't like having to pay $50.00 to go see them in person. Yeah, I'm bitter about it...but does that make me a poser?

I've always wondered if the Steele mag was worth the extra price. I will have to pick it up now. The only thing I have heard is that he uses shorthand that is uncommon and makes it difficult to read.

My cousin goes to Penn State and can't stop talking about this guy. It's making me nervous about the PSU-OSU game this year.

BlueFire, The OSU-Texas home and home is going to be amazing!!! Tickets for this years game are already going for 900.00. I think whoever wins the UT-OSU game will be playing USC in the Rose Bowl.

I for one am not surprised that these kids acted like this, after all they are most likely Pats fans.

Personally, I see a classic game between USC and OSU this year. Ohio State has THE BEST LB corps in the entire country. With Troy Smith, starting with the UT game, and Teddy Ginn this OSU team is going to be great. And besides, a USC-OSU Rose Bowl National Championship game, it was meant to be.

I hope he does well, but when the Spartans come rolling into the 'Shoe in November, he is going to have a tough time with Mr. Teddy Ginn.

Minor league baseball has always been know for quirky promotional days, but this one takes the cake.

I am new to the politics board here and so before I start I thought I would say hey. I consider myself a democrat and I can tell you that I am mad as hell at Durbin and I won't accept his apology. Other than throwing mud on an already slumping party, he insulted our troops in the worst way. I am a college student and my best friend had a full ride, but instead joined the army and is fighting now. I am sure most people on this board know someone in the military and know how I feel.

Durbin should be ashamed of what he said. These prisoners in gitmo are being treated pretty well considering who they are. They do NOT fall under the Geneva Conventions because they are not a uniformed, legitimate military. These aren't members of the Republican Guard or anything like that. These are people who dress like civilians and cut off American heads. We don't technically have to treat them this well, but we do. How come we never hear anything about that?

I think the Bills need to choose what shade of blue they want to use and stick with it.
