Less merchandise to unload when they move the team....

The last bunch of years is littered with guys we just missed Big Ben, Willis, Spears (traded pick for Losman), Wolkfork... Also annoying are the guys we missed after our pick. No matter who we pick, I give them a 30% chance of drafting a stud player. Even if they had the #1 overall pick. Even if we pick a stud, DJ couldn't coach 'em anyway. Yep, you know he'll be back next year.

I like Quinn. Has a bit of an attitude and a Thurman Thomas type chip on his shoulder (thought he should have been drafted earlier). The Bills should do this? Which Bills? The DJ Bills? No way. DJ and crew can't even get Owens the ball, how do you expect them to mold "raw talent" like Quinn into a NFL QB? Now, if we get an actual NFL quality coach, I'd say why not, although no way you get him for a 4th rounder.

Doesn't matter that he was let go when he was. Who knows how long he would have lasted anyway, and who knows how he would have handled the salary cap mess that was Bruce, Andre and Thurman. FWIW, I have the utmost respect for the man. He is just a fantastic GM.

Personally, I am tired of his choppy, stop and go running style. No fluidity. Stops and allows the tacklers to get to him. Should we trade him? If we can get value (God I hate that term) then yes. Since he is a recent 1st round pick, I would want that in return, and even more. Would we get that? No way. Recent history has shown that elite backs can be had for chump change. And I wouldn't term Lynch as an elite back anyway. I would much rather start Jackson and bring Lynch in as the change of pace, hard yardage guy.

As far as he can? Man, he took this team as far as he could his FIRST season. As much as I hope he is fired this week, won't happen. And I am kinda skeptical he's canned after this season.

As assistant HC, April would be the "obvious" choice. I believe it will be Fewell, as April will likely be back next year whoever the HC is. If he was the interim HC, doubt the team could bring him back in the ST coach position. Even though ST is having a below average season, I doubt the organization lets him go.

Interesting article. Especially that it is on the official bills website. Makes me wonder. If the organization was 100 % behind Trent, they would not allow that article on their website. Makes me think the org is not behind Trent all the way and if Fitzy has a good game this weekend, we may have seen the last of Trent.

Actually, ESPN has run a 1 hour show about the WFL. I've caught it a few times. They talked about how teams couldn't pay players for a few weeks, how the championship trophy was repossed at the championship game due to creditors. They interviewed one guy who played with the Jets and ended up in the WFL in the last years of his career. It was very good. Haven't watched the USFL one yet, so I can't compare them.

I also liked Palmer yesterday. Although, the jets offense was pretty putrid, so I'm not sure how good he really was. As for Banta Cain, I'd sign him. Probably get some useful info from him regarding our next game vs. the *patsies...not that it would really help anyway. Also, he's a seasoned vet and could provide some nice depth. Just wonder why he was cut, seems odd to me.

Wow. Lombardi sure showed me his intense insight from being in a NFL front office position with that one. Sorry, but stating the obvious does not make him some sort of guru. I saw that same statement on this board plenty of times yesterday.
