Well, when the contact is consensual, as he suggested in the clip, it wouldn’t be assault...it would be consensual. But yes, I can see how Joe Biden, a politician with decades of experience plagiarizing material, lying about his experiences, and who acknowledged wrongdoing riiiiiiiiight about the time he wanted to president, certainly could have misjudged a lady struggling to get free from the clutches of an extremely powerful and creepy man as wanting to have him assault her on a sidewalk.

The “timeline” was filled with innuendo, assumptions, leaps of reason, and the obligatory unnamed sources. The paragraph he included, and the link provided, reads like a high school term paper. You know that, I know, but geesh. The issue of budget cuts and how OBVIOUSLY they lead directly to mismanagement——I heard a story today about a company that is assisting people in all 50 states with filing for unemployment benefits. The response on the state level has been problematic, crashed websites, overwhelmingly phone traffic, confusion and mayhem. This company automated the submission for all 50 states, with a team of 7. Being a cynical man, I’ll wait to see how this all plays out over the long haul, but it sure is a bad look for the combined firepower of the staffing and budget for a whole boatload of state agencies.

One day, you’ll talk to your grandchildren about all the stupid Trump supporters (ironically while teaching them good old fashion traits like civility) and how Trump was a sexual predator, and you hitched your wagon to Fightin Joe Biden, push up champ of King of Prussia circa 19ought57. Those sweet little faces will look up at you and ask “Gumpy ‘Splant, defender of women, what made Joe Biden so different than mean old President Trump?”. If you’re honest with them, the only answer you can give will be “Penetration, children, Joe got penetration.”.

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

Maybe it takes a simple guy to point out the obvious, but to break the tension a bit. You folks are all capable of handling yourselves, but this struck me as damn funny: "...as this is beginning to get personal..." came after "Make sure you suck that jackboot good and wet before you beg the king to shove it up your ass, Joe." This could be better than Ali-Frazier. edit: Then Joe comes up with a call for "grievances". Jackboots, Kings and Grievances! I feel like I'm watching that TV show "Turn", except I can never understand the characters as they sound muffled, like a bunch of muffled tory's. -

Well hold on just a second. A few years back, a friend of a friend of mine had an accident where he drove his car through the front of a liquor store. He called me to help out, so I drove over to help him out. He was a big cat (RIP), and I'm a horrible judge of that, but he was 450-500+, maybe 6'1. He was actually waiting for gastric bypass but could never get low enough to have the surgery. Anyway, his car was being towed, I told him I'd give him a ride home. He had medical issues, of course, including the sheer effort it took to get his legs up into the vehicle I was driving at the time. When we got to his house, he told me he needed help getting out. I helped get his legs out of the vehicle, he sorta rocked to get moving forward and damn near tilted past the point of no return, as I was attempting to secure him from a fall like a doomed movie hero holding the door closed from a hoard of zombies on the other side. Anyway, we stopped him before he fell, and the math suggested that had things gone sideways, I was about to be crushed in the aftermath. Fat phobia is for reelz...and all you lovable b*stards would have laughed because nothing brings people together----libs, conservatives, bernie bros and klansman, like the unfortunate and most decidedly unhappy ending to some poor bastard crushed under a massive falling fat guy. -

Pizza Hut. Uber. Drive through at McDonalds. Home Depot. Grocery store. Landscaper. Electrician. Insurance claim. Withdraw money from the bank. Amazon warehouse. Many, probably most of the UPS/Fed Ex deliveries made. There are millions of interactions going on every that have very little do to with true 'need' when considered in the cataclysmic sense. It's an illusion at this point, and ratting out the Amish amounted to a few coins, at most. -

There's a time for retrsopection, to analyze what went right and what went wrong. Thereafter, as we all know, we can trust government to put a program in place to deal with future pandemics. When in doubt, there is always another tax to be added, another trust fund to raid, and another crisis not to be wasted. I find it a gigantic waste of time to performer a retrospective using sound bytes from anyone mid-crisis. You have indicated that Dr. Fauci has zero reason to lie, and I guess the implication is that everyone else does. If I was pondering that question, I guess I'd want to know why, when Trump did act, it took governor Gov Cuomo so long to act for the people of NY, and why when he closed off Mt. Vernon, he didnt act more quickly in cordoning off NYC, or set a line in the sand at the northern edge of Westchester County. Moving backwards, had Trump acted two weeks earlier, and based on your thoughts, I'm thinking you would have supported a total shutdown of...everything, across the 50 states? At the same time, I would wonder if the US had been locked down 2, 3 or 4 weeks earlier, and by that I mean a real lockdown, how many people would have been impacted adversely given one less month of saving, one less month of shopping and preparing, one less month of income? Given the run on essentials as the shutdown was phased in, what might it all have looked like with that sort of lockdown? Would a run on the banks have occurred? Civil unrest? Chaos? Finally, the economic impact on those not susceptible to most severe impacts of the virus, the non-vulnerable among the citizenry...what might the impact of an early lockdown been on their psyche? We already see signs of both governmental overreach and a willingness to push thr envelope, what might that have looked like? I appreciate your confidence in Dr. Fauci's integrity, personally I don't ever trust anyone that completely when acting in a political or quasi-political role. I think he's done a good job walking the nation through this, but 30 days ago I couldn't pick him out of a crowd and couldn't tell you a thing about him. Still, he said what I would hope a man in his position would say "...it's complicated". That's the understatement of forever. Sincere best wishes to you and yours, and a hope we get back to some version of normal soon. -

This seems like common sense. In fact, I’d think if we applied social distancing techniques, shuttered people in place and shut down the economy with regularity we would have less deaths by the flu, car accident, and line drives to the skull at baseball diamond. -

I like Trump, I certainly don’t think him infallible and 4 days out of 7, I wish he handled things more tactfully, with less bravado and and sticking to the script. I didn’t care for Obama as President, I thought 6 days out of 7 he was a horrible President, but 7 days out of 7 he was good on the script. Finally, I think 7 days out of 7 politics is nasty &$#@ing business, the people who swim in those waters are often vile and despicable human beings, and in the end, it’s all about power. That pre-dated Trump. The pandemic response is what it is, mistakes were made, Trump made mistakes as did just about every other leader in any position anywhere. If you believe it’s all on Trump, then Faucci, Biden, Pelosi and Schumer et al erred in not demanding time on CNN to tell the world the ONLY way to save us all was to shut everything down ASAP. They would have willingly provided the air time. -
I got hung up on “forcible contact”, which is different than “contact” implies judgement, and the fact that similar calls were not made in subsequent games, including at least two Mahommes scrambles thereafter. The fine line between “Holy crap what a play” and a flag is razor thin. Also, it’s hard to separate rational “ah, they viewed it as forcible” when a shot to the head is not called as well. And when black-suited officials suddenly rush into the field, like evil Spider-Man in a Marvel comic book. ? The NFL, phrases like “good no call!” and the relative dearth of obviously flag-worthy calls as the game comes to critical points is the true culprit here. When the league improves the officiating experience, people will have less to complain about.

I’m probably a bit less concerned about the extremes, but when you add in “citizens must show papers” (think O’Hare airport lines), while it’s a ***** free for all at the southern border and “how dare you ask for papers in that case!” coupled with “people shouldn’t need papers to vote”, it’s relatively easy to see that the tail wags the dog. and don’t be closed-minded, there are no genders and the number of genders is infinite depending on #yourtruth. -

I was on the wrong side of the old “You’ll put your eye out” when I was a young man. Wrong place, wrong time. ***** happens sometimes...though being completely honest, I was a bit over the top with my own children. Had nothing to do with my own dealio , much more to do with my own generalized anxiety that BAD stuff can happen coupled with a spouse who felt the same. I’d knock it back 15-20% if I could do it again, and have shared that with my awesome adult-aged children who seem none the worse for wear. Jarts is Thunderdome BG. Crazy talk!! Jarts...you people are Tiger King without the prison time! (Presumably) ? -

Reddogblitz = Reddogright. Though, on WMDs, my thought at the time was that everyone in the world thought there were WMDs in Iraq. I recall....hmm, Hans Blix (?) from the UN saying as much before the war, and I always viewed that scenario as Hussein playing chicken with the wrong Texan. I’ve learned a lot since that time, but that was my read at the time. -
The Big Gamble: Hydroxychloroquine
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No, I don’t think that at all. I think President Trump wants to save as many people as possible, as most presidents would, and he’s pragmatic. I think his desire, or impulse, to speak what’s on his mind allowed him to cut through the bull#### and tell the American people what he heard, what was being reported, and what the medical professionals at his level shared. I can see a medical professional suggesting “well, some of what we’re hearing is promising, so, let’s move forward cautiously with trials and....”, I can see him recognizing that people were going to die, and he shared what he had heard. I’d bet his advisers were telling him to stay quiet, to remain guarded and he thought “F&$# that.”. In that regard, he’s pretty amazing, assuming of course success follows. i think you’re 100% flat out wrong, I think he care as much about the people of this country as any President ever has, and more than most in recent memory, but even if you’re right, he wins by American lives being saved. What’s better for a narcissist (as some see him) than saving lives? -

I have been laughing about this reply on and off for about 8 hours now. You give me far too much credit for attempting to set a trap for you, I had typed a reply last night and somehow swiped the wrong way on my ipad and lost it. I'm really not all that complicated. With due respect, the 'straw man' reply is overused and I reject it's application here. We learn and grow by being open-minded. I acknowledge fully that I disagree with you on many issues, and that my opinion is unlikely to change based on your feedback. However, you posted the article, you put it out there as a hammer to the sensibility of Trump supporters, you indicated that the three news outlets reported it, and my impression was that you viewed it as follows: "One news outlet reporting it's ok to be skeptical, two gives the story credibility, but three is a slam dunk!". My point is that history shows us that media sources uses circular sourcing, reporting what another outlet published, and more recently, hiding behind the tag line "....which we have not independently verified". Let's go with the Covington Catholic story as an example. There are others more relevant to Russia, but I think we can agree on a rush to judgement, a narrative that was concocted by media sources that had no basis in fact. I don't think I denigrated your argument, I'll have to check. I simply asked the questions to try and understand that which to me is virtually impossible to understand. This is one of the biggest stories in the history of our nation: A president accused of treasonous activity and an attempt to remove him from office. I assume we can agree on that? So...How did the major media outlets so misread the Russia investigation, how did they misread the tea leaves, how did their sources fail them so badly, and how did they miss the malfeasance at the FISA court level and upper echelon of the FBI? I know how I square it, I'm just wondering how you saw it? Was it incompetence, intentional or something else? As a gesture of good faith, I'll even share my reply to your reply in advance: Whatchootalkingbout Willis? -

Come on Gary B. If we're going to sit in judgement of every person holding a political office making comments and doing it for political gain, let's just concede that everything that is ever said or done by a person holding political office is done for his/her own political gain. It's much easier that way than debating back and forth over an attempt at humor and an acknowledgement that a political enemy praised someone.
