Who's Running The Executive Branch?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Irv's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Absolutely agree he looks like he’s in great shape, he’s had good plastic surgery and his hair guy had some chops. As for slipping a bit, yes. On the right is dopey Joe from 10+ years ago, he was a backslapping, tall tale telling huckster who was likable enough, but you always wanted your wife or daughter to be mindful of how close she got to him, and he’d doink you in the nuts after mumbling a question about whether or not you liked “Hertz donuts”. On the left, we see evidence of Joe slipping off the intellectual cliff to a decidedly predictable end. -
I’ve lived in the Albany 30 years, and while I haven’t been on Wolf Road apparently at least as long as there has been a Toro Cantina, I would second @Gugny suggestion that options are plentiful there. It would also be relatively close to Cohoes. Never been to the music venue there. Saratoga most definitely has some options as well, and is a cool town worth the trip though farther north. I should get out more.

Adam Zyglis - BN "Political Cartoonist"
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Jordan Poyer called it correctly: “disturbing”. Some people are just ugly, and it’s at least good to see Zyglis acknowledging he gets paid for his brand of hate. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

The vaccine President!! Yes, based on the science, he saved millions and I’m not even sad he let you come along for the ride! You’re welcome! -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Old Jim looks to have a few dozen extra tickets in the Death by Heart Disease Lottery based on the weight he’s carrying around that midsection. Read a book man! -
Maybe, I live in Albany. We can pay all our tax bills a number of ways--local bank, the assessors office, online. It's very convenient.
-
You wrote that the tax is $98 per month. For that to be true, the tax on the house would have to be $98.00 per month. That's just the county bite. If you feel there is sufficient value to the total property/school/other tax in Buffalo, thats fine, but the tax on the house was not limited to $98 per month (though it doubled since 2015).

What is better, no guns, or more guns?

He sounds plastered which may explain his odd interpretation of the 2nd A. On the bright side he’s been loading up that cannon reference since 1986. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So, another way to look at it is a person in that situation is unlikely to become infected with COVID, but if they do they are really really really unlikely to develop serious health issues. However, it makes sense to risk a serious heart issue (unlikely) because they’re still less likely to have the heart issue than if they developed the condition from COVID (more less unlikely) ? I don’t know. I feel like lots of young people aren’t going to see the logic here. -

Public comments must be limited to those effusive with praise for the decisions and members of the a school board. Any comments outside the limitations must be locked down under penalty of law.

It’s a shame to feel this way but I understand. I live in Albany and love my trips to Buffalo to see family. My children have been raised in Albany—love Buffalo, but if they left (or we could get them all to collectively move somewhere where we weren’t shaken down) we would go. Easy enough to fly in from NC as drive from Albany. As it stands, we’re trying to thread the needle with 6+ months elsewhere (Florida, perhaps) when the time is right. NY politically offers very little of interest to me. Good luck whatever you decide.

This is it—between the shakedown to do business in a city like Buff, wetting the beak of politicians to get things accomplished, the potential for unrest supported by “leaders” and the inevitable additional shakedown of this wealthy family, the Pegs would be wise to avoid the city like the plague. To be completely honest, they’d be wise to vacate NY but so far, so good.

Vikings Rookie Shot 4 times
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s possible this was a hunting accident where the shooter heard rustling in the woods and fired indiscriminately, or maybe the shooter accidentally discharged the one/two/three/four bullets into the chest/leg/torso/other of the bullet recipient, but I personally don’t see @machine gun kelly as being way out on Crazy Island on this one. In other words I don’t think the aggrieved party is on walking around saying “Man, I dodged a bullet here, lol.” -
Thank you for the thoughts on my pending visit. My only real concern is the old Bruxy Springs will start yammering on about politics. I was a concert-going fan back in the day, and have no issues with his politics (though I think he's a hypocrite +/- alot), but I just want to go and enjoy the story with my son. We'll see. NYC is a cool place, I'm sure, I'm just more comfortable in other places. My wife (from White Plains and later, Yorktown) told me after we had been married a few years that she would have loved to live in NYC for a while. Given a city choice, at that point I would have chosen Boston. I'm hurt that you think I had to search for intel about the NAE heels. You think 60 year old conservative men don't know about haute couture and vegan skorts? You think we can't appreciate the intersection of environmentalism, fun, sass and fashionable footwear? In this case you were correct, but I'm hurt nonetheless. I duck duck'd it--and I applaud your recognition of the marketing ploy. There's lots of money in saving the planet. Now, about the party. I wasn't suggesting you wouldn't be delightful, I was talking about the vegan heels. It's a metaphor. Snoozefest. Boring. Blah blah blah. Quite the contrary--assuming you are who you represent yourself to be online (my general disclaimer for folks on the line), I'd think you're intelligent, friendly, bold and a person of substance. I respect that, (I married a woman like that) though i might disagree with your take on things. To be candid, I don't know if half the information you post is true or not, I'm a pretty simple guy. I watch behavior and modeling more than anything else. It's why when a poli talks about saving the planet and pollutes the snot out of it, or devises complicated tax schemes that seem a fair bit more redistribution than earth-saving, I tend to tune them out. I'm all for a smarter, safer, cleaner planet, but personally believe this movement follows the modeling of traditional religion moreso than it does anything else. My fave party story. I'll ask you to trust me here--one of my skillsets is getting along with folks and finding common ground. I, like you, might be considered delightful at parties. A number of years ago I was at a friend's house and the vast majority of folks were strangers to me. We got to talking about N'Orleans, Mayor Nagin Katrina response and folks left in the city. A lady there was quite vocal about the federal response, how black people were left to die and how it was all W Bush's fault. I engaged in conversation on that issue--state v federal response and who can do what to whom, and after a few minutes, she lost it. Total emotional mess. As she attempted to browbeat me, I responded calmly, and some other folks gathered. Turns out sweet old Leh-nerd was in a liberal enclave! I was engaged in multiple conversations, agreeing with some folks, disagreeing with others, and a few became animated, then it became personal with some pointed attacks at me. Turns put growing up in a house with multiple brothers, with friends who liked to bust chops, and having an affinity for that as well, it didn't bother me. It all sort of ended when the first lady, in frustration, turned to her husband and pleaded "Why don't you say something to him!". His response was awesome..."Because he's right.". I've not been invited back, but that's ok too. I have no recollection of a 12/3 interaction. I'll have to double-check that, but let's not forget, we need to tax the rich. 😇

Carl Nassib Announces He is Gay

Swimming holes at the holler. Towels between butt cheeks and seats. Naked golf swings. ****** talk thrown around like we’re the French. This is like a painting where Norman Rockwell meets R Maplethorpe. And..Hapless…sunscreen liberally applied to…bug spray to a…..I just….it’s like I try…I mean I just can’t. -

Well, now we know. After Thunderdome comes Camp Melanoma. The odd part of this for me, beyond it being something I would never want to experience (and good for you for having the confidence to experience it), is that a ***** is frowned upon but it is perfectly good form for a guy on a golf cart to paste a trail of scrotal/butt juice on a vinyl seat for the 4some teeing off later in the day. -
Dudeski, he’s the leader of the free world elected in large part by people who claim to victimized by…ah, college…and need redemption in the form of someone else sucking up the payment. He’s the leader of the free world with a history of groping women and children in public, and was elected in large part by people who claim to be pro-women because he “owned” his behavior at age 78. He’s the leader of the free world with a 5 decade history of making racist comments including claiming to be the arbiter of…blackness, elected in large part by social justice suburbanites claiming to be about racial progress. He doesn’t need to look strong, he just has to avoid wearing Dr Jills PhD’pends on his head while out in public. Besides, any devout Catholic knows his shtick from the last 45 years and have shrugged and reconciled or moved on.

Seriously BillSy, I get it. Twitter user PudPullerXXX said that he heard that Instagram user Connie Lingusrox read something that someone told her about which you believe addresses the reply you would have sent had she said what he said and you linked. I responded directly to you because of comments you specially made. You don’t have to send me someone else’s text because their grammar is better, their wordplay more evolved, or because you can’t reach them in time to get a quick answer out. To quote Cat Stevens, “Take your time, think a lot, think about everything you’ve got…”. Trust me—I’ll figure out what you think even when you struggle to knit the words together in a way that makes sense. I’m sort of a savant in that regard.

The “folks” in Portland are not the heroes of the tale for thinking people. That they were allowed to rage, destroy, occupy, assault, and given enough time and opportunity, murder law enforcement officials is no less a blight on our way of life than the dimwits who were able to defeat what passed for security at the Capitol is in under 5 minutes as if in a scene from “Olympus has Fallen”. It must be very troubling for the Capitol police to know that they are being used as pawns in this story while they watch fellow officers assaulted, maimed and killed every day under the guise of social justice.

Good song, goes on a bit but the video is cleaned up early MTV.

I don’t know if NYC is falling apart and I certainly wouldn’t blame you if it was. It’s a rainbow world. I’ve never been a big fan of NYC, though I’m going to see Springsteen on Broadway next month with my son. I will say this—any heel that finds itself yapping on about being vegan while polluting Mother Earth on its trip in a cardboard box via container ship from Portugal is no friend of mine, and likely insufferable at a 4th of July party. Q6: With respect, why did you think #5 was a Q?

IMO this is the worst type of extortion—somebody wanting nothing from you really ****s with your head.
