  1. Sure you are, but you can reimagine that too. Lots of people do that!
  2. I don't hate, son, it's really not in my DNA. I don't hate Joe Biden, but I know his history. I don't hate Trump, but I understand why you and others might. All I can tell you is that of you pay attention, you don't find yourself tangled up in a knot explaining why keeping top secret intelligence on the garage floor just because own a classic Corvette makes it safe. What Joe Biden did was completely predictable, and your defense of him was as well. That's the funny part.
  3. BillSy, you're punching at shadows in the night. If you feel compelled to explain your thought process to me, you lack intestinal fortitude in a major way. You voted for who you wanted, who really cares? I support your right to choose the agenda that enhances your life. I will say, however, it's not uncommon for folks to reimagine why they voted the way they voted when faced their own hypocrisy. You're against "stop the steal", you're for allegations of "illegitimate elections". You're against tyranny and overreach, you're for doors getting kicked in. The way I see it, all of you chumps trying to reinvent reasons you 'Rode with Joe' probably thought the game was over--because after Trump gets his doors kicked in and Biden gets on his soapbox, it would be almost inconceivable that Biden would have 4 count 'em 4 count 'em 4 separate incidents of illegally handling top secret material. All you needed to do was pay attention, BillSy, this is classic Joe, and that you're surprised by it speak volumes about your intellect. Btw, when he completely &*^%ed up the most basic duty of an American leader-----your Landslide President became your Mudslide President, sh*tting all over the chumps who thought they were above justifying illegal behavior. It's awesome.
  4. Tibs, your thought's on Biden's greasy pole is your business. All I can tell you is people vote their best interests, and the leadership of the party generally puts the candidate up that they feel inspires their voter base. Clearly, the base was energized in spite of the fact that Biden's worst tendencies as a politician actually mirror the complaints you have about Trump as an individual. It's ok that you wanted him, you owe no one an explanation.
  5. They are, though, Ten, and that existed long before Trump was elected to anything. The argument that somehow Biden was a “hold your nose” pick by people like BillSy is hysterical. He’s been a major player for decades, and offered a progressive agenda to his base. There was nothing unknown about the guy, his ethical, emotional peccadilloes were well established and well accepted. He was THE guy.
  6. I disagree with you on the relative POSedness comparing Biden to Trump and Trump to Biden. At best, they are on equal footing in that department. Trump leveraged his name and brand for self-aggrandizement, Biden leveraged the weight, power and worst tendencies of our system to target disadvantaged communities through legislation. Trump b*nged supermodels and socialites, stating truthfully that some women allow certain things in certain situations. Biden groped women for decades, was credibly accused of violent sexual assault, and when he ultimately apologized for his groping, he implied the women he harmed didn't understand he meant no harm. I believe Trump made a significant tactical error in holding on to those files, though I would bet it is pretty common (so far, Clinton and Biden have had similar issues with this sort of thing, and we've only really looked at three individuals). His error was not recognizing when there is an all-out assault to destroy an individual, nothing is off the table. He should not have had the files in the first place, and certainly should have understood that what followed likely would follow, and should have expected just about anything could happen. That said--Biden has been a member of the establishment class for decades. He's been protected as such, he's run with white supremacists and notorious leches, lied, blustered, and become incredibly wealthy without much speculation on where and how his money was earned. Remember, he ran in circles where a senator could drive off a bridge after a drunken binge, leave a woman to die in his car, disappear for 10 or 11 hours, make up an absurd story about his actions, and throughout multiple dalliances thereafter, was ultimately lionized as a great American statesman. That sort of hero worship has to impact an individual on some level. This is just who Biden is, why would he ever feel that something as innocuous as national security was something he needed to spend time fretting over? "Throw that box over near the Valvoline, it'll be fine!". Trump, on the other hand, was under constant assault from the left and their supporters. Russia was bs. Ukraine was bs. Media reporting on both ended up being a ton of bs. The country rioted, cities burned, people died and Washington barely registered a raised eyebrow. He watched as a decent and noble public servant was branded a serial sexual predator simply because the system allowed. So, Trump is Trump, and that's a fair part of the overall conversation as to trustworthiness and character. Still, part of me thinks Trump took the files knowing full well the all-out assault would continue in perpetuity, and kept documents that might be useful to him later on. In a perfect world of honorable individuals and a do-the-right thing frame of mind, that wouldn't be necessary. Washington DC may be the farthest place from that Utopia imaginable.
  7. The interesting part about this to me is that for all the bureaucracy and multiple layers of government designed to ensure ordinary citizens are doing the right thing, the decision to let an extraordinarily reckless individual and his extraordinarily reckless team self-manage this review is normalized. The deal goes like this: Politically connected individual completely disregards law; Politically connected individual engages in a pattern of similar activity over at least a 5+ year period of time; Politically connected individual acts in an extraordinarily reckless manner during the entire time said law is being violated; Politicized DOJ decides the best course of action is to allow the politically connected individual and his extraordinarily reckless team to self-report on potentially illegal action. Sadly, @ChiGoose was right here. All these establishment types need is the right people in office, at the right time, to reveal that indeed, some people are above the law.
  8. We can’t trust them. They can’t trust us. The problem is at times we are them and they are us. PS Always remember in virtually every movie, when the zombie apocalypse hits, it seems the good guy with good ideas about fairness and righteousness is always chomped on first.
  9. I don’t disagree conceptually, but if those that went before didn’t keep visitor logs at their personal residence I’d just as soon not worry about it here. As I’ve said before, for those upset about Stop the Steal, I think it’s more than a bit hypocritical if they supported the Illegitimate Election campaign of 2016-current.
  10. So on this note, the question for me is...what is the standard for presidents and vp's historically? One of the issues with I had with the Trump raid centered around that subject. What happens in most cases? I've said it before--I'd be surprised if confidential/top secret material wouldn't be found in the home(s)/offices of most former high ranking officials. It just seems to be human nature, especially when the party in question is so sure of him/herself that they are convinced they are best suited to lead the world. In this case, would there be a reasonable expectation that visitor logs would be a standard at his home? Is there a log kept at Mara Lago, on the beachfront of Obama's home on Martha's Vineyard, at Bush's in Texas? I would think most of them would prefer not to have a log kept, there's really nothing goo that comes from it. At the same time, the Biden fiasco seems to point out the need for such logs to be kept. With top secret material stored near the recyclable bin in his garage, it's frightening to consider who might have had access to all this stuff. He did have that whole box thing going to supersize the security, but one has to be realistic--some high end criminals and ne'er-do-wells have figured out that by jimmying the top with a screwdriver, letter opener or pointer finger, the contents inside are often easily accessible to prying eyes.
  11. Slow down with the naughty talk, Chi. It’s unprofessional and offensive to some people. I understand your angle, I really do. You take what is known—which is next to nothing—backfill a narrative based on your preferred outcome, and suggest others should jump to the same speculative conclusion that you do. What we know, at best, is the following: Biden had material (classified, top secret, whatever falls into that category) in his possession that appears to be in violate the law; The material was in a minimum of four separate areas, including a garage; Biden’s legal team has made statements that may or may not be true about how/when/where the documents were found; Biden has made comments on such behavior as it relates to a former president, and certainly seems to think possessing such material is extremely reckless and dangerous. He seems to feel that standard does not apply to him; Biden has had experience in the proper handling of classified material for nearly 50 years, and based on reports, began violating the law as early as 2013. We have no idea where the material was stored, how often it was moved, who may have had access to it, and likely never will; The Biden WH has not been transparent about this entire incident, including revealing the news when the classified material is reported to have been discovered in early November; Look, this material may well have been planted by a staffer as some have suggested. This may be more disinformation planted by Russians, or maybe the French. What I will say is taking the self-serving narrative offered by his handlers—all of whim may have violated the law—as “fact” is just plumb silly. At a minimum, relying on this team to tell the truth after extraordinarily reckless behavior seems unreasonable.
  12. Devastating to the national psyche, pitted citizens against one and other and really reflected the first “Stop the Steal” of the modern era.
  13. Your commitment to the cause is admirable, that should be acknowledged. Only a true believer can see multiple issues over a 7 year period and stick to the script. Documents in the office. Documents in the house. Documents in the garage. Documents, documents everywhere, and still who can say if he intended to possess anything? Could be staffers who thought they were hiding Easter Eggs on the old timer. #staytuned
  14. A couple thoughts occur to me here. Who’s responsible for oversight and ensuring laws are not violated? Is erroneous delegation an excuse to skirting laws dealing with confidential/top secret information? It seems unlikely that team Biden would not know the law on this matter, assuming a staffer is responsible for the illegal activity, I wonder if they would face legal jeopardy? Biden was pretty clear on whom he thought was responsible for files at Trump’s place. It’s weird that suddenly he feels differently when he’s in the mix. It’s going to be a tall task to work backwards through 7 or 8 years of Biden’s life to get to the bottom of all this. Prayers up to him and the “staffers” who hid the files on him.
  15. Don’t be so presumptuous, and as you so frequently suggest, follow the facts. The conclusions rendered by AG Barr are quite clear and quite compelling. Those comments came after an objective and unbiased review of everything Russia related. Mueller’s concern and complaint(s) are of no value to me, he had so much time and effort invested in the hunt for Reds in the WH it was probably inevitable he would lose focus and objectivity. At least half the nation was absolutely convinced of DJTs Russian citizenship, and the pressure to find something, anything to justify time and expense must have been extraordinary. I think it’s time for you to remove the partisan blinders and recognize the damage that the Dems did to our system with that ginned up scandal.
  16. The ultimate resolution of Mueller was no obstruction, and an AG stating emphatically that what happened in this absurd spectacle based on lies and innuendo was that what happened to Trump should never, ever happen to a president again.
  17. There is a 100% failure rate from the last two presidential elections on national security issues. My assumption is none of these jamokes at the highest level of govt have historically been concerned about national security issues, likely because they all know it’s common. “Mutually assured destruction” is a phrase that comes to mind. For those keeping track, both parties have national security issues, both parties support questioning the integrity of our elections, and so on and so on.
  18. Nothing wrong with the Corvette, it’s a beautiful car sought out by your prototypical rich guy with the money to buy such things and the ability to seek out top notch hair replacement therapy. The dopey part was his insinuation that he treated issues of national security on par with his Corvette. FYI—I’ve never run the numbers, but I’d say I’m happy about 95% of the time.
  19. I think the issue tends to be more about the 7-8 years where the subject was actively involved in disregarding the law, recent developments previously referred to as unprecedented, the subject’s recent comments on the impact of such egregious behavior, and his completely idiotic comparison between his dopey Corvette and top secret government documents.
  20. I thought we were talking about Taibbi. Now we’re onto Hutchinson’s mother. Hard to say she has ethics and morals with the Trump rope a dope’n the driver. Nonsensical. Preposterous. Maybe she had a momentary lapse and remembered something from a Bruce Willis movie but I kinda figure if she would make that up, how far is she really from Russian hookers and urine?
  21. Well, one would think, but it’s weird the lack of interest in some stories these days, or some of the misses on others. Hunter Biden laptop is one. Missing on the fact that classified intel was in Biden’s possession in early November, before the mid terms in another. They missed sorta widely on Russia collusion, who Christopher Steele was working for etc etc. Just speculating like everyone else. The Trump wrassling with a Secret Service agent seemed very, very preposterous.
  22. Everyone knows the garage is the safest place in the house. Small doors and whatnot.
  23. Always liked this cover of “In Your Eyes”.
