No, it doesn’t, not at all. You sound almost like a fundamentalist preacher here. It’s a complex subject, with lots of moving parts, and citizens have a right to have a seat at the table. I’ll backtrack a bit to find what you think the solution should be policy-wise, but in the meantime, what policy would you suggest?

“ Rush Limbo” though, ya gotta give @Tiberius credit for slipping in a humdinger there. -

I think the messaging here is while American’s question every single industry, product and service that goes awry, it’s completely crazy to question any issue with Rocking The Vote, unless it benefits the other team. -

If you walked by a Jennifer Rubin raging at Glenn Youngkin for not publicly apologizing while she was chomping on three slices of Sbarro meat-lover pizza at the local mall, would you stop and engage? Take a minute to explain why a handwritten note is sufficient to apologize to the offended party? Remind her that people devoted to a life of public service make mistakes, too? No, more than likely, you would shake your head, catch the eye of another shopper and both shake your head at the crazy woman making a fool of herself. Who cares?

Wrong guy Chief. This is an “it is what it is” situation. If Hochul morphs into something good for NY, in a manner that makes sense to me, I’ll be happy for the good people of NY. The math and her history suggests that won’t happen, but we’ll see. For me, it’s all about creating options for personal choices moving forward. Enjoy the tears though.

Hard to argue. Personally, I think NYS has gone past the point of no return when it comes to conservative policy. Hochul was on board when Cuomo was harassing women, when the SUNY Poly scandal took place, when the administration was cooking the books on COVUD after being caught unprepared for the pandemic itself, and has her own burgeoning pay-to-play scandals. Meanwhile, we’re shedding population at an alarming rate over the 8 years she’s been in office. The answer, of course, is to give her a whack at running the whole show. It’s not really all that different than the election of Biden. For all the talk about progressive political agendas and hope and change, dem voters are like everyone else—-the status quo is fine as long as they get theirs, and in NY, Hochul is status quo.

We had a plan, and we forgot it when someone got punched in the mouth. On the whole though—yeah, fun times!!

When we were kids, a guy stopped his car on a side street we were walking on and approached us, asking if we had thrown a snowball at his car. We had not, though at other times we might have. One of my friends was a smart ass, started walking towards the guy telling him to get lost or whatever and the guy rapped him right in the kisser. Actions have consequences.

I don’t recall that book specifically. We read a ton together and sorta remember Wanda the Octopus, but cannot say with certainty. Cool cover though! On that note, one of my prouder moments as a parent was when my daughter called from college after a long class on employment law and told me that she kept thinking of me and this clip.

I have not voted yet. Soon enough. There have been times in my life when I have gotten wrapped up in all this more than I do now, and obviously I spend time on a message board dealing with politics so I find the subject interesting…but have come to the conclusion it’s an enormous waste of my time to spend much time worrying about it. So, I don’t. Have a good day ya commie chick ya! —or— Have a good day, ya democracy loving chick ya!

Hey Mup, No hatches to batten imo. There will be a ton of political theater, a treasure trove of breathless reporting, and much to fret about what with the notion that democracy is on the brink. Cast your vote if you choose, take a pass if you like, consider historical precedent when it comes to midterms and move on.

Trust the guys who define the process. They’ve earned that right. I’m with you here, and would love to see OBJ in a Bills uniform if he’s ready to roll.

Interesting question. Here’s an opinion piece posted to the Fox News website: https://www.foxnews.com/media/nbc-news-blasted-critics-over-retracted-paul-pelosi-report-questions-persist-done-damage Lots of speculation on the reporting, including how NBC could have gotten it so wrong (assuming they got it wrong), why the story was allowed to air to begin with, what actually happened in the house, and why journalists aren’t out seeking clarification. All fair questions in my opinion. In a nod to Chi and Sunny D, it could have just been one large, systemic f/u where professional reporters, editors and producers simply got confused and produced a story over the course of a week and then published a fabricated version of events from unsubstantiated sources. Or, they’re part of Team Conspiracy. I would think Miguel A. and his producers would be terminated on a screw up this big, if indeed it was shoddy reporting.

She’s nuts, of course, but her comments on security at our southern border are spot on. The amount of pain, suffering and death on both sides of the border is incalculable and Biden and his team seem not very concerned about it. I’d go so far as to say politicians on both sides of the aisle seem not to be all that concerned about that brand of suffering.

The hold is a whole ‘nother issue. The jets long drive had a few, olineman yanking players that had a shot at the runner. I agree they were letting that stuff go, which makes the hold to set us back 10 and negate the Diggs grab aggravating. Again, when you’re not playing well, a lucky break or two helps to win games. In two plays in about a minute, time runnning out, both went the Jets way. It happens, and it blows.
-
It was a penalty and should have been called. The db holds him, doesn’t track the ball, and it impedes the ability to catch the ball. I understand the perspective that one call doesn’t win or lose a game, and the Jets were the better team today. Still, when you’re not playing up to your standards, and things aren’t going right, it absolutely does not hurt when a call is made that should be made regardless of what point of the game you are in. Luck matters in the game as well.

It’s not a winning thing, Tibs, I just opined that DeSantis will be ok based on Trump’s word play. Biden is president and his VP believes he is guilty of violent sexual assault, and as @Doc pointed out, a racist. In that regard, Biden was ok, right? Every interaction doesn’t have to be a blood sport, Tibsy. I do want to recognize that you surrendered the W though. Integrity matters.
