Biden has been in office for nearly half a century, complicit in the issues at the border for the duration. He’s been the number two man in the game for 8 years, and the top dog for 3, and one of the most powerful men in the country for virtually all of it. The number of people dead or victimized as a result of his “leadership”, on both sides of the border, is incalculable. Trump was President for 48 months. With respect to the border and the greater of two evils, it’s Biden by a mile.

If we had representatives in our political ranks as supportive of such intensive, exhaustive and thorough law enforcement initiatives for regular Americans victimized outside the kingdom within the boundaries of DC, our nation would be more fair, more just, and just about unstoppable. Come to think of it, if more citizens supported the sort of hyper-vigilant policing we saw post Jan 6...with all that stuff you mentioned above front and center to the investigation...what an incredible place this country would be to live in. What we get instead is a constant, steady barrage of criticism against the police, and a story like the one out of NYC yesterday, where a guy tries to kill another guy by cracking his skull with a baseball bat, and walks away with a slap on the keister and not much more.

It’s funny watching it all unfold. I was reading an AP story today about Hunter the Brave kicking a$$ and taking names. The new narrative was republicans haven’t found “significant” evidence. The job is to keep pushing forward with pressure on the Biden boys relationship and old Biden’s credibility.

I’ve read this a few times and still don’t understand your point. Unpacking it: Trump has unethical lawyers: We could have a long conversation on defense attorneys and straddling the line between fact, innuendo, and victim blaming. That’s irrelevant when it comes to the actions of the prosecution. Trump’s lawyers are waiting for a mistake: Yes, as they should. I’m binge-watching “Suits” as we speak. It seems to me that the Smith team(s) selective leaking is unethical (assuming of course that they leaked it) as well, and the response by Frankish sort of confirms that. When considered in context of the gag order requested by the prosecution, it seems that concerns about the release of evidence designed to be inflammatory is one-sided. As Frankish said, it’s life, but it’s certainly part of the story.

Trump is the defendant, on trial for his life, and him stating what he did or didn’t do isn’t a leak, it’s a personal declaration. We know who said it, when he said it, and the manner of his declaration. The prosecution, on the other hand, has nothing to lose, infinitely deep pockets and is supposed to be pursuing justice from the perspective of truth and doing the right thing. What you’re describing is a political and theatrical performance where there is neither attribution nor specificity, and the illusion of insider information that may or may not be true. We don’t know who said it, who leaked the information, the veracity of the claim or the trustworthiness of the source, or if there even is a source. It always seems to me that if the case is rock solid to begin with, why the need for the dog and pony show?
-
Patience for what? “Sources” unknown are offering “reports” to shape a narrative on what transpired. Why not just offer up the actual witness statement so the entirety of the allegation might be understood, v. selectively leaking data to influence public opinion?
-
If they are, where are they?
-
Why would we need “reports”? Witness statements in a criminal trial would be a matter of public record before the trial commenced, correct?

Kempy Boebert admonishing people about the morally acceptable way to admonish people, blissfully unaware as usual. 🤣

No, they don’t have to prove their case. That’s a plus if they can, but it won’t move Biden loyalists like you, Kemp, BillSy etc. It certainly won’t move the Senate to support impeachment. At a minimum, the modest goal of the impeachment inquiry is to paint Biden as corrupt, greedy and having sold out the American people in pursuit of personal gain. If you believe the polls, it seems to be working.

yeah, like Frankish said...whatever he did. It's hard to remember sometimes.

Your perspective is interesting. The pushback from the WH, and democrat leaders is that there is absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing. I’m assuming you see the potential of wrongdoing of some sort, what is it that bothers you from evidence that’s been discussed? I don’t really see an issue with the rebranding, if that is all it boils down to. Much is made of impeachment being rare, but since Clinton, we’ve been down this road 4 times involving 5 administrations. If it’s just a matter of political posturing, is it really that big a deal? That’s the way the game is played. Special counsels, guilt by association, selective leaks, innuendo etc. The Senate will not oust Biden one way or the other, should it come to that. It won’t come to that absent clear and convincing evidence, assuming all players do the right thing. Worst case scenario is they shine some light into the life of a political heavyweight and his family. It should be interesting if nothing else.

I think we’re past the point where the question of Biden being an innocent pawn in a vast right wing conspiracy, the questions that remain are how much did he benefit, did he break the law, how much money has been funneled and from where. It’s interesting that the committee has faced resistance over the release of the 5,000+ emails Biden used on the government platform.

I think it's good for a change that there are precious few leaks designed to shade the opinions people have about Biden and his alleged scheme. These are hard times, people don't trust politicians, faith in congress is at an all-time low and before too long, the Russians will set upon us (again). We have to pull together, and as we know, there is nothing to fear if there is nothing to see.

We all have different questions, Kemp. I am wondering why you're retroactively outraged about comments from 20+ years ago, considering only 20 seconds or so, with the narrative cut off in the middle of the dialogue. It weird because there is no outrage, no hands raised in protest, no push back from the people doing the interview, in the actual moment. Why do you think that is? As for caring about anyone but himself, I have voted for a long time on the premise that I choose the politician who is going to hurt me, or my family, less. I don't think Obama cared one way or another about me, nor did Bush, Biden or Trump. I know you're a Bidenista devoted to the guy, but that isn't me. As for the Saudis, I asked the question because I figured you would try and sneak past it and hope no one noticed. I always notice, usually let it pass, but figured this time I'd prompt you again for a reply. I think Biden has been in government for nearly 50 years, at the highest levels of our government, and has been one of the architects of American dependence on this shady and sketchy regime. https://www.state.gov/united-states-saudi-arabia-relationship-eight-decades-of-partnership/#:~:text=The United States is the,at more than %24140 billion. I also believe he has routinely sold out the American people in pursuit of wealth and power, similar to what we see happening with the Senate hearings currently ongoing. As for Kushner, I think the only reason you get your testes in a twist is because someone told you to be outraged at a private partnership with the Saudis, when the US government openly brags about the same type of relationship. I'm good with moving toward a cessation of relationship with the Saudis, but before you get to Kushner in 2020, you would be wise to clean up your own backyard first. There's been clutter and garbage accumulating there since about 1975. Btw, nothing says valor and honor like lying about being present at hallowed ground as events unfolded. https://nypost.com/2023/09/11/biden-claims-he-was-at-ground-zero-day-after-9-11-but-his-own-book-puts-him-in-dc/

I listened to the entire interview, the questions asked and answered provided. I noticed that the interviewers were engaged and engaging, seeking out guidance and feedback on specific questions. In the moment, they were not outraged, offended, or quite nearly as impotently enraged as you claim to be today. I think that’s because the interview was about specific issues, that all parties knew what those issues were because it was discussed before the interview took place. Maybe though, they were in on it, Trump acolytes, and your humanity quest should be refocused to question their humanity? Special credit to you though, for not being pretend outraged about imagined racial/gender inequity in the makeup of the panel. Usually you ask a poorly constructed question about Matt Gaetz and whether or not he would watch a show like that, or invite the interviewers to an imaginary bar mitzvah or “Sexy at Sixty” birthday party. I noticed you had no thoughts on Biden’s very close personal relationship with the Saudi prince. I’m shocked. 😉

I didn't lose anyone close to me, but a friend of a friend worked at Cantor and was killed during the attack. He was a good guy. A friend's son's fiancee was killed by falling debris, and two very close friends lost a number of people from the town they lived in in NJ. Finally, another friend and his wife were on the way down to the World Trade Center for their liquor business, made it as far as Yonkers and were turned back because of the attack. On the Trump comments, I kind of wondered why the clip started and ended so abruptly, so I went and listened to it. It actually spans almost 10 minutes, and the message is quite a bit different than what you portray it to be. The clip starts out with two smiling reporters, and the anchors specifically ask about his properties and his thoughts on the attack and how it impacted him and the landmark/marquis properties he owned and how this impacted them. You can actually hear the deference in their voice, and the respect for the loss in his statements. Why do you suppose the entire clip wasn't aired? Just an oversight, I guess. Btw, on 9/11, and the aftermath of the Khashogi murder...what are you thinking about this whole deal? Looks like all is forgiven, I guess. https://apnews.com/article/biden-saudi-crown-prince-mohammed-handshake-g20-c33e0f9bd2c6aff967a9d3d61529d9bd

TM was doing something wrong. He was beating Zimmerman quite badly. It was the most important part of the case.
