For decades, R voters have noted how the mystique of the Kennedy clan overcame a woman being left to drown in a car, a 10 hour walkabout after the car went in, ties to organized crime, allegations of sexual assault and rape, the Marilyn Monroe thruple, addictions, hypocrisy,JFK Jr recklessly responsible for wiping out a family, influence peddling, only to find RFK JR a bridge too far for democrats. COVID is the most lethal virus ever. It may have done it Camelot.

Vivek Ramaswamy for president 2024?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
From the looks of him, he doesn’t appear old enough to have a drug addicted ne’er-do-well son who could work for a shady energy company in a notoriously corrupt nation who could get the old man to fire one-count em one—individual in exchange for a billion dollars in aid, then return home, make sweet sweet skin chime music with his decreased brother’s widow before becoming an expert art person. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

There's a balance there. However, one of my individual pet peeves is educated and supposedly learned people who are emotionally soft. It's difficult for me to trust them, and this guy falls into that category. Spare me the 'woe is me' BS, spare me how you and yours should be considered beyond reproach, and get to the point. People were mean to you. Toughen the %$# up. True story. When one loses control or feeling in the Great Toe, it's referred to as Toelio. Ok that's not true, but it should be. I heard that gout can be very, very painful. Hope you feel better soon. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Yeah, but it gives a whole "Contagion" angle to it, which psychologically screws with the emotions of the masses. Even now, I feel like Redtailhawk looks like a homelier version of Dustin Hoffman. -

Hans C. Andersen died in 1875, so I don't think it was him. I read through the manifesto, and it's helpful to understand his persepective on the big picture. It's obviously self-serving to a large degree, so that must be considered as well. He also seems to have a bit of a God complex and clearly doesn't appreciate being judged for his actions. -
@The Frankish Reich I'm a Coors Light, Corona drinker, enjoy a Guiness or Black and Tan every now and again. I'd drink Bud Light before the dust-up, but it would probably be the last choice if other stated options were available. What's with the judgey "horrible taste" take? The product sold well because people bought it in large numbers for consumption. What's next, you guys trash talk some poor guy enjoying a Kit Kat because you prefer your fancy Cadbury Caramilk or Aero candy bar? I'm over here enjoying a Kit Kat, contemplating a Coors Light later and..well, I'm listening to ABBA. There, I said it. ABBA. I have no plans to go out and buy some craft beer made in the 'brewery' of some dopey real estate attorney/brewmaster, knowing full well the 'brewery' is his moldy basement and his kids likely dropped some snot-laced Leggo into his swill when the babysitter wasn't paying attention. Go to h3ll, the both of you.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Distraction incoming. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-12289007/Scientist-denounced-Covid-lab-leak-theory-said-privately-highly-likely.html Many people were distracted by the common sense analysis of the proximity of a lab specializing in infectious disease, the outbreak of a virus in a country known for secrecy and human rights violations, concerns over US involvement in said lab, the introduction of 'wet markets' into everyday lexicon of American life (the 2020 version of slippage) ...and the knowledge that some science guys straddled the line between politics, knowledge and medicine. It's tough to trust people when they prove themselves untrustworthy. -
Yeah, that’s it. The WH security screening in 2023 boils down to a metal detector and an old guy with a clipboard and pencil. 🤦🏼♂️ I’m guessing you must have a $&*t ton of stock in Burisma.

See, here Doc, I agree with Chi. Washington would cease to function without an uneasy alliance between adversaries. So, with a few exceptions, mutually assured destruction keeps things mostly quiet on that front. Hunter Biden is protected in large part because Mitch McConnell's son, brother, cousin or whomever is operating in a similar fashion. Consider, for example, W Bush. According to the dems, he lied about WMDs, manufactured false intelligence, started a war that resulted in the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and a million plus people in the Middle East. His punishment for all this was a nice place in Texas and a special relationship with the Obama's and Clinton family. Trump is the wild card because he's an outsider and rocked the boat. He also was foolish to maintain any documents at all when it was crystal clear Biden/Garland would go scorched earth on any issue they could find. They would have found something else, but why expose his throat to the wolves at the door?

I'm not surprised. You strike me as a pretty smart guy generally, but you're a linear thinker.

Of course it does, BillSy. Change a couple names, the other side of the aisle lacks trust and demands accountability. We agree. Tonight I play the lottery.

I think it's recognition that the system is flawed and likely politicized 99 times out of 100. People don't trust the system because it's used to bludgeon some and protect others. Maybe this is the 100th time and Jack Smith is the hero we all deserve, but chances are he's not. The DOJ didn't help themselves here, at least from the 'trust the professionals are doing professional things' perspective. They view the issue as so important that they send armed agents, presumably with orders to dispatch those who may not comply or pose a threat to the order, spend 11 or 12 hours rifling through documents vitally important to National Security. While doing so, they grab protected personal information, tax return documents, and documents protected by attorney/client privilege. A short time later, they release details of the raid including pictures of folders like they're running a reality TV show. On cue, a short time later, we find that like with the Clintons, this whole national security stuff is so important that Biden is leaving &*&^% around like a drunken circus performer and no one in the government has any idea where anything is at any given point in time. We're told, of course, that this isn't a problem at all...it's slippage. As far as the SC pulling out all the stops, what would prevent him from doing so? It doesn't cost him (or anyone) a dime to launch multiple attacks on multiple fronts and run this out as long as possible. In fact, he's getting paid for all of it, and his financial future is assured one way or the other. There's big money in all this. You should be guessing "lack of trust".

The Biden family paraded their grandchildren around maskless during the inauguration, COVID still killing Americans at an alarming clip. The optics were terrible, the message terrible, but the Biden family likely isn't bothered by such pedestrian things. A party is a party. I'd think they are pretty used to the special treatment treatment, and if Uncle Hun dropped a bag of nose candy or two about, that's a private family matter. Above. The. law.

The Florida Blueprint: Inflation

Married for near 40 years, and I’m not saying I’d do it. I’m more of a social influencer on an obscure part of an internet message board. Do as I say, etc etc, creating Tik Tok challenges sorta thing. -

You both sound soft as microwaved butter, yet seem unusually narcissistic in feeling you need to declare your political leanings. Next time you tell him to go to hell, take a swing at him, impress your wife and his for your moxy, then boom, you’re on a cruise. -
Love that one. I would think the one I have is mid1950s and not particularly high end. Same general style. I also have this console, obviously not the one here but same make, model. The TV guts are long gone, the radio turned on and worked, turntable (turntable went in the drawer at lower left) didn’t move. I’m actually thinking of doing something similar (no fish tank), but maybe put in a new turntable and speaker, put a bar behind the TV lens and with that assembly on a hinge.

Florida has the same problem. -
I bought a home near my office a couple years back, turns out my neighbor was a hoarder. She had a couple hundred albums from that era, and an old console record player that needs some work. At some point, I’ll look into restoring the record player and listening to some of the records. Kinda cool to have, one is shown here.

Things John might be inclined to believe: Donald Trump is an agent of Russia who enjoys winters in Moscow and water sports; Hillary Clinton deleted 33,000 wedding and bridal shower emails that were intermingled with top secret documents; No one ever gets charged with a crime when top secret/classified documents are treated recklessly and carelessly, and end up on computers of friends and associates without adequate clearance; It's pretty common fare for a $billion in aid get held up until one person in a country of 43,000,000 people is laid off; Political leaders declaring an election is illegitimate and stolen is some cool mo-g, but political leaders declaring an election illegitimate and stolen is an afront to democracy; Robert Mueller really meant there was a conspiracy afoot when he said there wasn't evidence of a conspiracy afoot; Slippage is really a thing 🙈🙉🙊 Good news though--no one knows nothing. Rumor is it was the Door Dash guy.

Don’t look to silence people with opposing views, John. That’s one of the basic tenets of far left (or far right) ideology. You’re free to disagree with his controversial take here that being healthy equates to being “far right”, but in my humble opinion you suggesting he not share his views and keep his mouth shut because it offends you is the bigger issue.
