Nope. Those are the Trumpers who believe everyone is lying but Trump. people are entitled to peacefully protest. It’s the American way. Promulgating this stop the steal lie, however, has got to stop. Trump started it, his followers bought it, and it has led to such things as insurrection and the storming of the capitol.

I don't mind any of this, except for "stop the steal." It is a freaking lie. That's the problem. There was no meaningful fraud, and everyone with any kind of political background (Republican and Democrat) knows it. Don't like the relaxation of absentee ballot rules? Totally fine. We disagree, but your opinion on that issue is at least somewhat close to reality. The "stop the steal" nonsense? No reality to it whatsoever. Nothing but a straight, damned, poisonous lie.

Agreed. Part of the constellation of factors that went Indy’s way. They had to play a perfect game to win, and they nearly did. But for what I suspect was a perfect breeze on their missed FG a and the overthrow of Pittman it easily could have been different.

The INT last week was a brutal throw. Not sure if it was on the move - he might have been climbing the pocket. But just a horrible, horrible throw.

Maybe you're right about elite. They were ridiculous. I thought he was throwing the first one away and, as it was in the air, I was thinking that he put a lot on it to simply get rid of the ball. Just a stunning throw. Probably the most amazing throw I've ever seen. I don't think a play like that is easily replicable. The other throw was reminiscent of Rodgers (on Thanksgiving, I think?). Just absurd. But probably not as lucky. I think we actually kind of agree on Allen. He is the reason we won the game. I just felt like . . . I know he can play a lot better. It's not a criticism, I guess, just a recognition of what a gifted player he is and what an excellent player he has become. If he's "on" his game, we will win the Super Bowl.

They should (obviously) want Daboll considering that they are either keeping Darnold, drafting Justin Fields, or both. The most important thing they can do is to take the next three years to "build" their next QB, just like Daboll did with Allen. But, of course, this is the Jets, so they're screw it up somehow or other.

To me inside pressure is the key with this group. Hughes pressures, but doesn't get home. Addison is hit and miss. Johnson hasn't earned the snaps. I think Epenesa will be much better next year, but I'm worried about him getting pinned and losing the edge this week. I'd play Murphy in his place. But the problems with the ends aren't as serious if we can get a little bit of pressure in the middle. Unfortunately we're wearing Oliver out having him play 1 sometimes because Star opted out and Butler is inconsistent. That's basically the problem with the whole thing. They miss star and they miss Jordan Phillips in a big way. And I'll add, Quinton Jefferson seems like a great guy, but I'm not sure that he's had the effect that they had hoped. So, basically, a bunch of problems came together at one time and forced McD and Frazier to hold the thing together with gum and dental floss this year. Hence Oliver seeing time at 1 and Justin Zimmer seeing meaningful snaps.

Agreed. Here's another reality. We played a stinker on Saturday in which our lines "lost" during the first three quarters and really "lost" during the fourth quarter. Field position was horrible all day long, in large part to at least one dumb decision by Roberts. D couldn't get off the field on third downs. John Brown was a negative. Game plan might have been a little better (use McKenzie a bit to at least get them thinking and maybe make their D-line run side to side and get a little more tired?). I don't even think Allen was all that sharp, honestly. (The toe-tappers to Davis were kind of lucky and inflated both our score and his stats.) And yet we still won. Basically, this year, we learned that the way to beat us is through a balanced attack and to have our offense have a stinker. Tennessee wrote the script. Arizona, although an unlucky loss, was similar. Our troubles really arise when we play a team like the Titans where we have to sell out to stop the run and the QB is good enough to beat us otherwise. KC and first NE games were affected by weather and injury, and I don't think they speak to the formula to beat us. So, long story short, yes we were bad on Saturday, but I completely agree with you. Now we're used to being in a tough game again, and we won in spite of turning in a clunker. Let's make Lamar beat us through the air and see what happens. Let's also see how true they are to their principles - bring on the blitz, and let's let Allen throw it around all day. Although he was a lousy run defender, we miss Jordan Phillips's pressure more than people realize. We also need someone--anyone--who can anchor. Not having Star hurts.

Thought about this earlier today. Jackson is not an impressive passer. Beat us on a filthy throw on a corner route to TE last year. But it was pretty lucky, in my view, given his overall body of work. This might be a game where Trent Murphy is in for Epenesa and sees meaningful time. May also see Dodson active in Gililam’s spot - a little extra speed at LB just in case. Key to victory = defensive discipline + what for us has become our average offensive performance.

Wrong game. It flurried a bit, and the field might have been slick. But I think you’re probably remembering the Divisional Round game against the Dolphins that year. The field had to be brushed at the half because of the snow. Otherwise, I agree with you; as long as there isn’t too much snow, and as long as there isn’t too much wind, receivers will have an advantage because they know where they’re going.

Normally I would agree with you, but in this particular context I think "idiot" is an expression of fact. The raiding of the Capitol is in a class of idiocy by itself. FWIW, talked to an "establishment" Republican in DC yesterday. Let's just say this: there's going to be a long blacklist when this is over. People are especially pissed at Hawley and Cruz, who are smart guys who should have known better. And one of the reasons the "establishment" is so angry is that Trump/Hawley/Cruz et al. promulgated a lie to take care of low-educated, struggling middle class people and in some cases ruined their lives.

He's a loser and so are his followers. Actually, the followers are losers and he's a traitor. Some of the followers are also traitors. I have Dave Bellavia on this morning, and I'm so disgusted with his "whataboutism" that I had to turn him off. I've just had enough with the "what about Antifa" "election fraud" "Pelosi/Schumer" lies. The election fraud hoax is what got us into this mess, and we can get out of it together or we can continue stumble along in this fractured state of dual realities and see how that turns out. No matter, Trump has got to go.
