  1. I live in that area (Van Dorn & Telegraph) and most of the elementary and middle schools in that area are good. Hybla Valley used to be run down but mall is being remodelled and area in general in is improving. I know a number of people who live in the area. Recruiting station in Alexandria is at 7609B Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22306 http://www.google.com/maps?q=navy+recruiti...4&start=0&hl=en Outside city of Alexandria Recruiting station in "Fairfax" is 6198 Franconia Rd, Alexandria, VA 22310 It is really Springfield http://www.google.com/maps?q=navy+recruiti...1&start=0&hl=en This later part is conjecture and it is possible that it moved from one location to another. Both are in same general area; driving between the two is a pain in the butt for there are basically only a few routes and all are over utilized. My brother Rory (those who have been to tailgates have met him) used to be a Seabee.
  2. Alexandria or Alexandria in Fairfax County are different areas - one is small city inside beltway and one is outside south of City of Alexandria; City of Alexandria also has restaurant tax which affects you if you eat out a lot. Fairfax City is a county surrounded by Fairfax County. Fairfax is also a postal code area IN Fairfax County. I'd go with Fairfax since it is further outside the beltway unless you are planning on taking public transportation. Schools are definitely better in Fairfax County; not sure about Fairfax City. Cost of living probably a little bit higher in City of Alexandria Commute sucks ESPECIALLY if you need to cross beltway; I used to travel from Alexandria to City of Alexandria and crossing the beltway would cost me a lot of time and there basically are no roads which cross the beltway and do not intersect it. I'd be glad to answer any questions by PM. I have lived in Alexandria, VA 22310 (Fairfax County not city) since 1994 or 1995.
  3. The fact that he needed to be picked by seniors committee tells you that the younger and maybe wiser voters did not want the baffoon in the hall many times but like lemings they will follow the lead of the pack over the cliff.
  4. Wednesday, September 28, 2005, 6:00-9:00pm http://seiz2day.com/nyss/buffalo.htm I have never been to one but I hear the food is very good. I was planning on going one year when Marv Levy was guest. I have attached copies of the broshure in PDF and jpg format. 5. Article on it: http://finance.myway.com/ht/nw/bus/2005082...-n23558759.html Notice the quote from article: In order to verify the identity of new Gmail users, Google sends new subscribers a sign-up link in the form of a mobile phone text message to whatever telephone they provide. Not as simple as it appears especially if you want to sign up multiple computers and if you do not have a mobile phone.
  6. Many Bills fans are not smart enough to use them at right time; Bills fans doing the wave while Bills on offense with Bills trying to tell crowd to be quiet still embarasses me.
  7. 1946 was last century. That is when many of the anti-Chinese laws were repelled, the ones which declared that no Chinese could become citizens despite the fact that many had been born here and were several generations in the US. Slavery was not the end of discrimination based upon race. Most people have heard of Ellis (Liberty) Island but most have not heard of Angel Island where Asian travellers were interned. I attached one side of my daughter's project on immigration.
  8. I am flying in as well from California (if NW does not cancel the flight during strike) so I doubt I'll be bringing any food; I'll contribute to some others effort.
  9. It is Pole 5 with the renumbering. Are the Bills still going with 3 hour rule with preseason games? That means the parking lots will not open until 3 PM (6 - 3 hours).
  10. He is no bigger that Parrish! How does he expect to stand up rigors of NHL? Is Rosen-ass his agent?
  11. Yeah that makes sense. I'd NEVER buy a ticket from a scalper which was printed out on a computer but I'd buy the actual ones even though they are equivalant if they are real. I doubt I'll see any offered today when I look for a scalper with 3 preseason tickets when I get to Buffalo.
  12. Is this just a way to get fans to buy from Bills first? I cannot see real advantage to a bar code system unless they have a lot of counterfitting. They just be doing some camera work comparing ticket users faces at multiple game for same seats spptting the comercial scalpers.
  13. MapsOnUs was one of my favorite maps sites - you could organize it well, keep your own address lists both personal and businesses, etc. Today I went on to look at a route from Buffalo to VA and a hotel to stop at on way and I found out the customized maps saving is GONE and map structure is completely different. I had kept a map of many Bills Backers groups across the country as a resource and it is gone now. Very sad. Used to be a great site.
  14. Felony law is regarding a broken BONE - noses are NOT made of BONE. Reminds me of Travis's broken bones.
  15. Say hello franchise tag ... agree quickly to a deal with team like Spikes did before money dries out or end up playing on one year deal or going thru same thing next year. If you are the best then you are CERTAINLY worth tagging. Yep. Nate can be very, very good or make very, very big screwups at wrong time. But like Henry I see a team being willing to limit his minuses in a new deal especially if he does not make those kind of mental mistakes this year.
  16. Silly mocking of a player who is one of the most durable at his position. He had a MRI because his foot was hurting in a way it normally wasn't and he wanted to make sure he did not further injury an injury he was unaware of. I didn't like Bledsoe as a QB and I did not want to trade for him although I thought he did a good job staying alive for THREE YEARS behind a line which looked like NYC bar patrons derived of their constitutional right to smoke. I do not think mocking him for mentioning a foot pain makes any sense; it makes Bills fans seem like bad sports, a fact which is often true.
  17. In order to be the BEST they need to not fall apart when faced with 3rd string offenses like Pittsburgh's "rest and keep out guys healthy" team last year. The defense was TERRIBLE that game. Eliminating bone headed plays/penalties (unnecesary roughness penalties, Clements interference showboating) is possible if they keep their heads on. And the Bills need to be better on bend-don't-break or Jerry Gray needs to do his best Bill Yoast immitation and just forget bending at all: "I don't want them to gain another YARD, you blitz all night! They cross the line of scrimmage I swear to God I'm going to take every one of you out. You make sure they remember FOREVER, the night they played the Bills."
  18. I think you need to add Moorman to list. I maybe McGahee's agent may have encourged him to sit out some plays since the real money is in regular season and it is debateable whether he can last an entire season since many sophmores can't.. I am sure his agent's FIRST priority is Willis getting yards (even if they do not lead to wins), awards, etc which he can try to leverage for more $$$ in a holdout.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=oj Interview is NOT about football or the murder he was declared not guity on and later found libel in a civil case. Sound is weak even with sound turned up full on my laptop.
  20. Not saying I am agreeing to shortening pre-season but how would it be different if they had 2 preseason games and 18 regular games? While SOME teams have good preseason game turnout, most games have much lower turnout than regular season. I am assuming you saying that the NFLPA would insist on raising all salaries by 1/8 (percentage of new regular games) because NFL would ask for 1/8 increase in TV network payments?
  21. Appropriate for kids of all ages older than 3. They have a large variety of events for the kids. Hardest part is keeping them away from all the candy.
  22. We lost one and a half guards (Lawrence Smith and Ben Sobieski) and got one and a half centers back! http://sports.myway.com/news/08082005/v6259.html Ross Tucker is back! Welcome back, Your dreams were your ticket out. Welcome back, To that same old place (RWS) that you laughed about. Well, the names have all changed (Anderson & Gandy) since you hung around, But those dreams have remained and they've turned around (Losman). Who'dve thought they'd lead ya? (Who'dve thought they'd lead ya?) Back here where we need ya? (Back here where we need ya?) Yeah, we tease him a lot, Cuz we've got him on the spot. Welcome back. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. .
  23. I never signed up for it but one was mailed to me. I have bought a copy at the stands a couple of times when in Buffalo but never gave them my address. I suspect they got my name from the Bills Backers organization but there was no indicator why I got it. It might be from when I downloaded an offseason issue. Anybody else get a free issue?
  24. I am viewing partal file and NOT great quality despite being 714 MB (1:09:10, 1st of two parts and the by far largest part). Constantly being interrupted and jerky. Not a big deal since this is a scrimmage but just wanted to see some Bills in motion.
