  1. I'm with you 100% Rico. Parcells is the type of coach who will cozy up to Williams while pushing him at the same time. He's a perfect fit. Mularkey doesn't like fat guys because he doesn't think it's fair that someone can get by on talent alone when he had to practice 5 hours a day to be a career 2nd string TE. Williams lost over 50 lbs coming into camp this year, and the Bills were 3-1 in games which he played start to finish. It's easy to say he doesn't have heart, but when one wheel goes when you are moving close to 400 lbs and you rely on the other, that will go soon also. With a good medical and training staff, this guy is close to a Pro Bowler. I understand at 10Mil we had to cut him, but for 2-3 Mil, I would grab him in an instant.
  2. Part of the job description for any GM or Coach is for them to scmooze the owner. The problem is that Mularkey and Donahoe have the personalities of plywood. These are billion dollar toys for these guys, and they deserve to have a listening board. It really is Donahoe's job to take care of, and if Ralph got to Mularkey on a regular basis, it shows even more why we made the right move in caning him. I am involved in a similar field...just treat the owner with respect and make him feel his opinion is valid. And make sure you have some Jello in the fridge for him.
  3. If Bill Levy's wife drives up to dinner next Friday in a brand new Pink Caddy and wearing a fur, then there might be a problem. The NFL is too big now to have a major influence from the outside. Back in the day, without big TV, huge salaries, and when the game was just a game, guys could be gotten to, and some big names at that. To fix a game like this now with the technology and communication we have is next to impossible. If you want to find a fix, look at Mid-major basketball for a guy shooting 2-20 with 8 turnovers
  4. That was a TD...nobody on TV mentioned it, but I couldn't believe there wasn't a review. If Seattle was Buffalo...we'd be boarding the 12:10AM Greyhound to NYC in order to burn down the league offices. I bet on Pitt so I will gladly take it, but this game was raw. The funniest thing was on Pittsburgh's last drive, Big Ben made the 1st down by about a yard and a half, only to see the ref spot it an inch or two past the marker.....as to cover his butt for the other 8 blatant misses.
  5. I guess you've never been to county! I don't see the foofu's dealing with a foot of snow too well tomorrow morning. There may be some scalpable tickets for the locals for a decent price.
  6. If I remember correctly, when we stopped them on 3rd and long to get the ball back, the team was himming and hawing whether or not to call a timeout, and it took about 15 seconds to finally do so. That was pretty uncharacteristic of Levy to not manage the clock correctly.
  7. We are in the catbird seat with our pick with Cutler and the RB from Memphis projected to go the next two slots. We are a very logical slot for someone to trade up. Unfortunately, Miami makes the most sense to go after Cutler, but teams like Cleveland, Minnesota or Jacksonville may want to take a stab at Williams. If we aren't in love with someone at #8, get out if those two guys are still there.
  8. Hang in there. Everyone can take a cue from how tough she is. If it hasn't already, the family's adrenaline is going to kick in to a "get it done" mode. She's leading the way by toughing it out. If anyone close to the situation is sane enough to focus, do your research on the internet. It sounds like she's headed to some of the best care around, but have a basic knowlede, if not in depth knowledge of options before going into meetings with doctors. It should help you feel a firmer grasp of the situation, and not leave everyone to feeling chaotic. Best wishes and prayers
  9. I've already burned it and have a CD ready to go for the first tailgate. Anyone got a doobie?
  10. I'm in the same boat. I thought the guy would still be in the fetal position right now.
  11. That will make for a great slideshow soundtrack next year. Especially if we are bad. Such a sullen, defeated backdrop.
  12. I guess this chick hasn't been to a game at the Old Rockpile. That's ok honey, you should at least get a B+ on your 10th grade English paper for which this was written.
  13. So what you are saying, is that I should unchain Phil Luckett's niece from my basement wall
  14. Sherman= In prime lapdance position Mularkey= Afraid to look at boobies
  15. Those were the days! I think Roby must have family in Boston, because he always seemed lit up in the broadcast booth when we played there. I'm pretty sure he was fired after hearing the same highlight reel you described. He was the best in the booth though.
  16. I agree Dan. I really can't believe how PC everyone has become. I would hope Bills fans had a little more subjectivity in evaluating a situation other than GOOD/BAD! That's just the skill set that got our coach fired. I'll tell you this much....my Dad was a cop from the time I was born until I was 18. I took more jokes, had to politely nod and smile whenever someone went into a wrant about "Lazy, donut eating pigs" who did so seriously when they didn't know what my dad did. And for $20K a year, he had a gun to his head, got to deal with the scum of the earth everyday, and was happy to have a job. It wasn't worth it to defend every cop, every time someone made a disparaging remark about them as a whole. I understand that 90% of people deal with law enforcement by receiving a ticket from them. If the Mularkey family thing is the real reson he left, and it wasn't because he was strong-armed out by the administration, then he is just a little girl. Simple as that. He talked tough, but he walked...that's what is left in my head.
  17. Right On....I can't believe what a PC world this has become. Poor judgement from the teacher, maybe, but for calls to fire him....comeon! I'd like to see the parent teacher conference on this one: Teacher: "Mr. Mularkey, your son seems to be having some difficulty with math. Why on his latest test the question was "Billy needs to get from Buffalo to Pittsburgh as quickly as possible. It is 300 miles from Buffalo to Pittsburgh. The plane goes 300 miles/hour, and Billy would have to wait 1 hour in the airport for the plane to takeoff. The train goes 100 miles an hour and Billy would have to wait 30 minutes for the train to leave the station. The bus goes 60mph and Billy would have to wait 20 minutes for the bus to leave the terminal. The final option is to have Damian Shelton take him to Pittsburgh on the handlebars of his bike. Shelton's bike goes 10mph, but there is no wait to get on since nobody expects to get to Pittsburgh on a bike. What form of transportation should Billy take to get to Pittsburgh the quickest?" MM: "I think the answer is obvious."
  18. I thought Studesville shot Roman Candles at the RB's at the combine while they run the 40, and the one who got hit the least, we would draft?
  19. OC: The corpse of Hitler DC: The mother Robin that gashed my head open because I was too close to her nest.
  20. I'm going to have to go back and review the film before I can answer why I hate Mularkey.
  21. I'm pretty sure he wasn't joking about being on it. He was very specific when it came to dosages, and he isn't quick on the fly about any other subject. He called JP Losman, LP at one point, and when asked if Marv had a role on the team, said that he didn't want to say who the GM was yet. The shot at Sully was a good joke, but if Ralphie was really ho-hum and depressed about stuff, that could explain how things have snowballed downhill the past few years, and his need to reclaim the president's role now since he feel rejuvinated. No big deal if he is...but I thought we could be watching a Mike Tyson press conference once he started going down that path.
