  1. I think Thomas wins the job. A)Passing game asset B) Was a shoestring away from 4 open field runs this preseason. Even if he has lost a step, he puts himself in the right place to have a chance to break one. C)More meat in bad weather. He's done it for Chicago which plays in similar conditions. If he outplays Gates in a dome, imagine what 3 years of 1000+yds experience will do for him when it is 20 and snowing at the Ralph. Shaud actually looked quick against the 3rd team. I thought he would have been gone, but Tasker made a good point about him being the only real change up back.
  2. One thing you can't debate.....he's a pretty good actor for a football player.
  3. As an alum...I just want the pain to stop. I don't think this program has a shot to survive. Drop in class and go where you can be competitive. On a positive note, we could probably fight it out with Stanford for the NCAA Ping Pong Championship if there were such an animal.
  4. Where's Triumph? I believe the correct response is... "For me to poop on!"
  5. I'd like to write in a candidate.....Fairchild. By calling the run on 4th down at the 3 yd line, he is showing himself to come from the Mularkified School of Contrarian Playcalling. If we poop the bed early, he will jump to the scapegoat lead.
  6. I think Price had a fine game. He made a few key blocks down field on runs. He was open on 2 shots for TD's. I was never a big fan, but his attitude is better this go. Lee Evans in single coverage, along with 2 blocks, ends up with over 100 yds. That wasn't Aiken they were doubling.
  7. Nice recap. I would like to add that our run defense is doing an outstanding job so far. A few goaline stands the first two weeks, and very few breakers getting by. JP's 2nd fumble, it looked like he hopped in the air or some BS. He didn't have time, but with 30 seconds left...EAT IT! The skill players on offense were blocking 50 yds downfield. It cost us a penalty late in the half, but on Evans' first big catch, Shelton leveled someone 20 yds away, and Peerless was running full speed and had hands all over a defender. I really like Price's attitude so far, and I hope he gets some balls thrown his way soon to keep him hungry. Special teams isn't missing a beat from last year. Punts and coverage continue to be excellent, although they are playing around with returners to find a combo. Lindell, nice boot....but gags on the kickoff. One question....why did we decline a holding in the endzone and give up a safety in the 1st? Overall, even though we made mistakes, we were making progress the times we weren't making mistakes. No more spinning our wheels. I walked out thinking that was one of the top 4 or 5 games in entertainment value at the Ralph since '03.
  8. Oh yeah....well....Roscoe Parrish is a.....a....Bocce Ball, Covered with Crisco.
  9. Philly.....one of the best qualities in Buffalo folk is the fact that they don't like to get BS'd. While many other regions are "more prosperous" and progressive, these same areas are usually more corrupt (the masses, not just govt.), and self-absorbed. There is no problem with starting debate, or proding.....but don't try to "sell" them something, be it a Jersey, a Bridge, or an outlook. Show me the facts and I will evaluate them and come to a conclusion. Simple and Sweet. I just moved back to Buffalo after living in Miami for almost 10 years. It is nice to once again have a neighbor bring over a dish of food for no reason, or a person in the checkout aisle strike up a conversation with me to shorten the wait. It's nice to drink a $1.50 quality draft at a bar 2 blocks down, and be able to leave my keys and cellphone on the table while I take a whiz. Yes, the demographics scew older...and more blowhard, but I know when the crap hits the fan in any aspect of life, there are people here who genuinely care and want to help. Need a driveway shoveled...done. Need a job..."well my sister-in-law works at so and so, let me give her a call and see what she can do." For the love of all that is holy, you can't even adopt a dog at the SPCA because so many people give what they can here, including a home. What Buffalo needs is for those who have been lucky to excel in their field outside of the area, to lead by example. You don't have to move back....but you can buy season tickets and give games to family or charity. Visit the area when you can, and maybe expose some others to the culture and hospitality we offer. Make sure to support local ventures, be it Buffalofoods.com, or Roswell Park. I am convinced that a person who works hard and stays honest will eventually be rewarded. This area has too much good Karma built up for it not to explode upward in the near future. Until then, I'll be happy to listen to everyone B word and moan.....as long as they don't take my keys and my cellphone when I go to take a whiz.
  10. Wasn't the NYS legislature voting on Sunday beer as well? How did that go, if at all? Daily Double!
  11. I find your choice of smileys, racist! I'm not predicting SuperBowl, I just know they have 85% of a great D from '04 still intact...while the LB's are a little slower, the CB's are entering their prime. I predicted 6-10 before last year because I saw Donahoe for the suit he was. We are by no means a favorite, but if Jauron can get the most out of these guys, the games in December might mean something. At this point, that is all we can ask for.
  12. 9-7 The biggest psychological phenomenon when it comes to valuation of an object in which emotion is involved is the "double-overreaction". This can happen in the stock market, real estate, and even covering sports. People tend to latch on to something positive, overstate both it's actual effect and potential, and then run wild with it as others do the same. Only when the valuation is proven to be inflated and never attained in reality do people realize their previous mistake. In a psychological coverup, these same people "cover their mental @ss" and devaluate this same object to such a low point, that it actually becomes a great bargain. Thus we have our beloved Buffalo Bills. 1) Mularkey was almost worthless as a leader and is gone 2) Defensive core is still here from 2 years ago 3) Quantity, not quality in skill players, much like Sabres This Defense really only has questions on the line, and I believe that Jauron can minimize their weakness, if they even have one. If Triplett and McCargo can play solid ball, we are again a top5-10 defense. Other than McGahee, the offense is pretty much a bunch of guys. If the coaching staff can make Willis shove his ego up his rear and make him play team ball, they have a shot at playing with Chemistry.
  13. OJ was Secretariat Thurman was Afleet Alex TKO is Barba.........ahhh, nevermind.
  14. 1)Evans 2)Price 3)Reed 4)Davis 5)Parrish 6)Tasker
  15. "Rodeo is something that Americans should be ashamed of, a part of America's past that should be put behind us. It celebrates a pathetic view of the "Wild West." Such inhumane "reenactments" should be illegal and disdained, not celebrated as "cultural events."" Rodeo=Football Wild West=Gladiators Marv=soft, pink and squishy
  16. I gave my old collection of Transformers to a coworker of mine for his 3yo to play with. Maybe I should take them from his scrawny butt and pimp them on Ebay now.
  17. Don't you remember the joke? "Hey, did you hear the Chicago Bears traded for Bruce Smith?" "It's because they wanted a Coke Machine next to their Refridgerator!"
  18. Where would I find how to convert currency from Buffalo dollars to Jacksonville dollars?
  19. I like your thinking.......one more thing...the guy plays like Thurman Thomas. If Marv watched the games I did, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to us in rd 2. He really is the 2nd coming.
  20. "The Sabres are going to pound you, like Duke Lacrosse."
  21. Without help, he's going to move the team. If there was one car dealer in every city, and you owned the dealership, where would you rather be...Buffalo, or LA? Ralph could sell the team, let every season ticket holder attend games for free the last year as a "tip" to the city, and still come out $300 million ahead of keeping the team here. I don't care how big your heart is, I don't expect anyone to turn down that type of money.
