  1. that's too funny...i didn't read any posts..my bad.Just assumed it was about Harvin as the title suggested!!!!! LOL
  2. they are fun to watch. At dinner , the place had some stupid college football game on,we requested to watch Leafs...this as a diehard Sabre fan..in downtown buffalo. What can you do..they are better and way more entertaining than the Sabres right now. Hopefully that changes, but i think it is bigger than just the injuries.
  3. Two threads...should prolly be merged. As i said in other..i can sympathise...but cut this guy today
  4. i have suffered with headaches of a a diiferent kind...cluster headaches is what i dealt with. they can be debilitating. that being said, the OP had it right...this guy is toast. Let him go today, and find someone that will be on the field
  5. eric, i dont know that i have anything to make a sign...will ask at the front desk. We should be there 9 AM
  6. well...the oysters were good! damn i thought they might actually tie on that PP in the 3rd. In the car and off to Buffalo for the game tomorrow...
  7. 30 minutes to slug down the oysters and a couple of beverages, 10 minute walk to game...perfect!
  8. Anybody going today? If so, son and I heading to Oceanaire about 4:00pm as they have $1.00 oysters all Day. So a couple dozen oysters and prosecco before the game it is! I will be in the red Denison Swimming hat. First beverage on me!
  9. well, at least she was still having fun http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2930955/I-actually-friend-benefits-Brady-Bunch-s-Florence-Henderson-80-discusses-active-sex-life.html
  10. the main reason to brine poultry and pork is moistness, especially in the white meat of chicken/turkey. Weird science behind it, but the salt allows the bird to absorb liquid and "unbind" some proteins, which results in juicier meat. The sugar helps the skin brown better, and the yes if you add flavours some of that will get absorbed..typical things for a turkey may be bay and fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme.
  11. man, that pass was sweet!!!! Finish boys, finish!!!
  12. can brine it while you are thawing!
  13. Man, that top line for the Wings scares me. Got a bad feeling bout Vanel going off tonight. Have heard the guys on GR occasionally say that he wanted to come back here..wonder if we have another win or two with him in the lineup. At the very least, would love to see that slap shot from 10 feet on the shoot out
  14. the 60 is my everyday beer...saison/witbier usually before dinner. 60's after dinner. One new beer i do drink quite often now with desert is Ommegang Rosetta.. great with chocolate and sweets. http://ommegang.com/blog/meet-rosetta/
  15. That to me is beer Nirvana...finding a beer you love with low ABV. I am on the eternal quest to find good, low ABV, beer. Love Tank 7 Saison from Boulevard, but its 8.5%...so i drink way more SmartMouth Saison at 5.5% even though i don't like it as much
  16. Lets hope...that sounds like crazy fun in a weird way. We dont eat till later...can you periscope your dinner for us...think i would watch that over football any day!
  17. so, did he get arrested cause he was drinking while on probation?
  18. DC tomorrow and Friday, Sabres game in DC Friday night. Saturday to Buffalo for rd 2 thanksgiving...then Bills game. Home on Monday
  19. Not sure..but that late 80's period of conehead, earl, peanut guy, butcher dude..kinda cool time when you think about it. Funny story..my Sabres seasons right out of college were 1st row of Orange...first time my Mom went to game with me, beer vendor for my section brought me a Christmas present. Yep Mom, i buy enough beer that the guy brought me a Christmas present!
  20. while ago i thought i heard the owner was a West Point grad and wanted to go with Black Nights....but maybe Army did not let him go with that?
  21. Agree...think there will always be one offs....but in the main athletes still need to do the work to stay eligible and graduate at top tier academic schools. Weird, you would have thought the problems at NC would have affected their academic reputation more than it has..still tough as balls to get in there for an out of state student
  22. I don't remember this guy....weird. Did not go to a ton of Bisons games in 86 and 87 when i lived in Buffalo..but prolly 10 a year or so. RIP Butcher
  23. That was always what i thought...ND, Stanford, the Ivy's...you might be able to get in with lowered standards than the average bear...but once there it is sink or swim. Granted, they have academic advisors on every team, and i assume on revenue teams like BB and Football...like a ratio of 3 athletes per advisor/tutor. My daughter is Senior this year and was recruited in a non-revenue sport..her coach always said 3 seconds faster in a 200 is worth more than extra 100 on the SAT...and man is that ever true!
