Hopslam/Nugget Nectar..Anyone Care Anymore?
plenzmd1 replied to plenzmd1's topic in Off the Wall Archives
oh, I've seen the beer snobbery, believe me. Happened to wander into a nice beer bar in Baltimore last summer when there was a home brew convention....fork in both eyes was preferable. I was just not certain how small is small batch. Some the guys down here that I would consider microbrews only pour at their taproom or sell in sixtels to a few local bars. In terms of sours, this is a pretty funny writeup, albeit a few years old. I guess the threat of the bacteria getting loose in other tanks scares small brewers...but his local place Hardywood is dedicating a whole separate room to sours so i am excited about that! http://bit.ly/1p8rkWH I think a great style of sour to start with is a Flanders Red Ale or Flemish sour. Rodenbach is affordable and good. http://firstwefeast.com/drink/2013/01/rodenbach-the-ultimate-gateway-sour-beer Monks Cafe is also very good. I am sure Pooj as been to Monks in Philly http://www.globalbeer.com/belgian-beer/monks-cafe-flemish-sour-ale -

Dont know what is small batch...but the local guys here in Richmond all seem to be great guys. Whats cool is most of the folks here have at least one good Saison...And when Hardywood opens their new place n Goochland(pooj knows) they are starting a serious Sour program. And i love me some Sour! -

see, thats the key..your age. Anybody over 25 in a flat brim looks like a fool...unless you are a pro athlete,,,even then its a stretch And that's the whole point and always will be...youth wants to wear what old timers think sucks...as soon as old timers like a style, its on to the next for the youngins. -

I am suggesting the exact opposite of panic...Last thing I want is for the Sabres to get within 4 at the deadline and make some dumb ass trade trying to get there. I want GMTM to be realistic where they are, look at the organizational strengths and weaknesses, and plan for next year. The strength of the organisation is clearly at the forward position, and the weakness is clearly the D. GMTM said as much yesterday. Gionta clearly has some value if he accepts a move...but its limited. You ain't getting a top 4 D prospect for him, or any other rental. You might for Kane, and your hope is a much cheaper winger, where you have organizational strength, can come up and produce if you can move Kane. Signing him after next year I think will be difficult if not impossible with Sammy and Jack due as well... -

But GMTM would be wise too...not a true Sabre fan alive that thinks this team can MAKE the playoffs, let alone win a round or two. This team has been out of it since they went down 7 points in late November, and have made up zero ground even with Jack, ROR and hot Kane back. Be wise GMTM, first mover has the advantage. -

and you know he has talent based on??? Did you watch a ton of his games in college at eastern Illinois? Beat a mediocre Cardinals team( who the Bills destroyed) cause the Cards kicker missed a game-winning field goal. For a half, was tearing up a Miami defence that had yet to gell...and again who the Bills put up almost 600 yards on that very same...when they were playing much better, I am not saying he doesn't have talent...but if this kid is not screaming Bryan Flynn , Rob Johnson, and Scott Mitchell, i dont know who is. And the fact the Pats are willing to trade him i conference, with a soon to be 40yr old starter, should tell you all you need to know. -

-
collards black eye peas and greens( good luck for the new year) i always associate succotash as southern..not sure why I am doing roasted leg of lamb sammies(thinking of doing sous vide) with a romesco sause on toasted sourdough Going to a friends house and he insists on breading his wings..so no wings for me!

Never understood the McRib love..but they did have a jalapeno burger for a while that i liked That's a good one, and no. I know OV is still available in Canada, but never see it in the states anymore. Same with Labatt 50...prolly my favorite mass produced beer. Product feature I used to miss was bright light switch on floor, especially when i was a smoker. Smoke in one hand, gear shift in another, steering wheel has to be included, possibly a drink.....just always liked if I could use my foot!

most likely, and according to all reports, he is the most valuable trade piece (as a rental) on the team. 2nd might be high...but who knows.
