  1. CANT BE, DEAN....CANT BE!!!!!!! Only "them" act like that!
  2. Be careful...mention Dear Leader's name out of context, even in jest and your post may up and disappear.
  3. I like Newt......that "far right radical"s response WAY better. 100 Days of Devastatingly Swift Success To mark President Obama’s 100th day in office, I’m going to say something you might find unexpected, even shocking: President Obama’s first 100 days have been spectacularly successful. President Obama is the strongest domestic Democratic President since Lyndon Johnson. His ability to get Democrats in Congress to give him things that undermine their own power is impressive. In just 100 days, President Obama has been devastatingly effective in moving forward swiftly the most radical, government-expanding agenda in American history. Successfully Moving to a European Model of Government Control At home, in everything from his economic policy to his energy policy to his just-announced science policy, President Obama has successfully moved the country from a traditional American model of entrepreneurship and private initiative to a European model of regulation and government control. Abroad, he has succeeded in his apparent goal to be the un-George W. Bush; replacing aggressive, if sometimes flawed, American leadership with a humbled, weakened America on the world stage. Judged by these standards, President Obama’s first 100 days have been a remarkable success. Getting Congress to Give Him Things That Undermine Their Own Power The Obama record in the first 100 days includes three instances of spectacular political impunity: • Under the guise of “economic stimulus” he was able to pass a $787 billion gift for his liberal special interest base. And he did it so quickly that no member of Congress was able to read it before they voted. • After campaigning on a pledge to end earmarks, he signed an appropriations bill loaded with 8,000 earmarks -- and paid no political penalty. • President Obama has kept congressional Democrats marching with him in lockstep. House Democrats tow the party line an amazing 94 percent of the time and Senate Democrats vote Democratic 91 percent of the time. Two Historic Bureaucratic Power Grabs In these first 100 days, the Obama Administration has achieved two historic bureaucratic power grabs: • President Obama has transformed the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) into giant engines of unsupervised spending. Together, they’ve spent the equivalent of the entire federal budget for 2007, without having to disclose where the money went. • Just two weeks ago, the President presided over an unprecedented bureaucratic power grab when his Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ruled that greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health. This seemingly innocuous decision opens the door to wholesale regulation of American life by government. The threat is so great that politicians and activists are using the specter of an out-of-control EPA to force Congress to pass a $1 trillion to $2 trillion energy tax in the form of cap-and-trade legislation. In Foreign Policy, Weakness and Self-Delusion The Obama 100 days record also includes remarkable weakness and self-delusion overseas: • In an attempt to overcome anti-Americanism abroad by agreeing with it, President Obama has gone on a global apology tour, labeling America as “arrogant, dismissive and derisive” in front of foreign audiences. • President Obama has unleashed a domestic war over the meaning of guilt by caving in to the anti-American left and leaving the door open to prosecuting Bush Administration officials over the interrogation of terrorists who plotted to kill Americans. All Other Obama “Accomplishments” Are Only a Prelude to His $3.5 Trillion Budget But all these successful expansions of government at home and retractions of American leadership abroad are merely a prelude to President Obama’s looming crowning achievement: His 2010 budget which remakes our health care system, remakes our energy system, raises taxes and forecasts an amazing $9 trillion increase in the national debt. As I write this, Democrats in Congress are fashioning a deal to pass the budget’s provisions on health care by preventing Republicans and moderate Democrats from having a voice in the debate. Think about that. The Obama-Reid-Pelosi political machine is going to pass legislation that fundamentally affects every single American -- as well as 17 percent of our economy -- by cutting the elected representatives of half of all Americans out of the process. If they succeed, the budget will be President Obama’s most enduring -- and devastating -- accomplishment. Will the Future Bring Change We Can Believe In? Or a Change in What we Believe? One thing is clear at this point in President Obama’s presidency: His control of Washington Democrats has been so masterful, and his policies so successful, that he has officially claimed ownership of the American economy. Going forward, it won’t be possible to continue to place blame on former President Bush and the Republicans. If President Obama fails, it will be his failure and his alone. As for us, the “success” of the first 100 days of the Obama presidency raises a threatening possibility. As my daughter and columnist Jackie Cushman put it, if we’re not careful, instead of change we can believe in, we’re going to have change in what we believe. It’s something to ponder for the next 1,361 days. www.newt.org
  4. YES. VERY. Specter wasnt a real Republican and its absurd to think he was. How does ANY Republican vote FOR a massive spending bill like he did? It goes against all party beliefs. Eff Specter. And Eff any other so called Conservatives and other mealy mouths who feel the only way the GOP is to become viable is to be just slightly to the right of the Democrats. I find it laughable that becuase you didnt sign on to the Obama agenda youre somehow a "right wing extremist." Its comical that the same bunch of folks who made a staunch liberal like Joe Lieberman a pariah becuase of a SINGLE ISSUE are now dictating to me about tolerance.
  5. Unless the money for this flight was not already set aside in a "publicity" budget or the like, what does the cost have to do with ANYTHING?
  6. I cannot argue with any of this.
  7. Youre missing it. This ops are indeed commonplace for the Statue of Liberty. Done all the time and I know for a fact that are at least three scheduled (or were) for Memorial Day weekend. Also, the Hudson corriodr is a major pattern route for Laguardia. So in fact, yes......aircraft do fly this pattern all the time. The overly dramatic way people act...and the way the press feeds into the hysteria. All that said, this was a unique event. Sure, it would reaise concern. But what is ticking me off here is coverage. Go read the NYDaily News and NY Post coverage. You would think the planes were do loops ten feet from the tops of buildings. THATS what I cant stand about these events. And yeah...I think people are being a bit dramatic. I understand the immediate concern and even a bit of panic. But one guy stated the planes were so close "he could clearly see the markings" on it. So he could do that...but the American flags and the huge words "UNITED STATES AIR FORCE" plastered on the thing didnt clue you off that this is all Kosher and no reason to run out of your office screaming and pulling your hair out? Idiot.
  8. Arent a good portion of flight ops for the AF and Navy "photo ops" where they just go up with a few cameras and shoot? One more thing....this is New York. There are not one...but TWO major airports where jumbos fly in and out of all day and all night long. A 747 flying low and slow overhead is as commonplace in this area as anything. And there is a huge....HUGE difference between a few military jets flying slow and low and stable and a commercial 767 doing 400 knots at full throttle, flying erratically, and pointed right at a building. Oh...this "reminded" people of 9/11? Oh...the fire trucks people see all day long in Lower Manhatten with the names of the dead painted on the sides and that huge pit outside World Financial dont clue you in on a daily? People are !@#$ing dumb.....and the typical media just fed them all another bowl of "stupid" with a side of "hand wringing."
  9. Right, conner...becuase the stimulus funds would have gone to research and the CDC and whatever vaccines needed would have been distributed, along with what work needed to be done to stop this...in Mexico....all within the course of a few months since obama said "Its Done", right? Making a flu pandemic a political issue. "Time to put away all those childish things." Indeed.
  10. Anyone who thinks that folks celebrating their religion is a threat to their own views of religion arent very secure in their views in the first place.
  11. When I see moves like this it makes me feel that Wilpon is really looking to pull a "Rachel Phelps" with this franchise.
  12. He resisted arrest. End of story.
  13. Im sorry, I cant consider ANYTHING "torture" where thirty seconds after the action starts, the subject is unharmed, unmarked and as if it never happenned. Pulling someones fingers out their sockets it torture. Making someone "think" something (in this case, that they are drowing) is not. I love this....making someone "feel uncomfortable" is now "torture." What a bunch of pussies we have become. And lets get this right...the few people who endured this masterminded one of the most terrible slaughters ever. Not in this Country's history. Ever. Whats next? I gotta feel sorry for Hitler becuase he was a bit chilly in the bunker?
  14. Torture is not a fun subject on the whole, but neither is recapping my neighbors diving out of skyscrapers so they don't burn to death.
  15. IMO, it has a lot of merit. If gay marriage is allowed country wide, you are talking about a pretty quick change to the status of millions of people who use the health care system and get benefits. It will have a pretty big effect on the taxation of folks, too, on all levels. Im not saying that this is a reason against gay marriage, Im just saying this is something the health care and IRS needs to be aware of and prepare for.
  16. No...but I have to admit that every time this story hits the news, they are showing this beaut' in that hot white little bikini strutting down the runway. Im diggin' that.
  17. This reminds me of all the gay rumors surrounding Mike Piazza in NYC a few years back. The guy dated the Playmate of the Millennium and then married another Playmate. I should be so gay.
  18. Funny....I beleive in the traditional definition of marriage, but a VERY close family member is gay and still managed to get married to her partner. How my opinion cant even "subjugate" somebody so close to me, let alone the gay community at large means either Im not very good at "subjugation"...or youre full of sh--, as usual. Tell ya what...us "close minded" Christians will leave the gay community alone and let them marry each other till the cows come home if you libs so concerned about rights will leave US alone and free to put up a CHRISTMAS tree in front of the library next December. We will take care of Miss USA, YOU get that Newdow clown off our asses. Oh...and if we are going to "give" you gay marriage...becuase clearly gays cant marry unless EVERYONE agrees to the practice, then I want Rosie O'Donnell done away with. Permanently. Get her job as a fluffer for gay porn...I dont care. And like Lex Luthor annexing Austrailia, I want Fire Island back. All of it. Deal?
  19. All metal pioneers...left out the obvious ones like Iommi and Rhodes: Allen West & Trevor Peres Chuck Shuldiner Kerry King & Jeff Hanneman Alex Skolnick Adrian Smith & Dave Murray K.K. Downing & Glenn Tipton Dimebag Darrell Marty Friedman James Murphy Dave Mustaine
  20. I just want to say that although I still think youre a dumb lib (), youve got my respect, becuase at least you can see the forest for the trees, something most arent able to do.
  21. Thats all Im sayin' I think Dean said it, too.
  22. Very nice. Always love it when a someone lectures on intolerance, ignorance and bigotry by practicing it, themselves. Fine...let the gays marry. Just as long as we kill all the Christians in the process. Right?
  23. Opinions are not true nor false. They are his beliefs. They could be as correct or as ass-backwards as anything else out there. Let him have at it. As long as it doesnt bother you, what do you care? Unless hes in a legislative or judicial body, his opinions mean sh-- to anyone except himself.
  24. WHY DO YOU CARE WHAT HIS OPINION IS SO MUCH???!!!?????
  25. CANT ONE HAVE AN OPINION ON AN ISSUE WITHOUT FORCING THAT OPINION ON OTHERS ANYMORE?????!!!!!???? Im against gay marriage, abortion (but think both should be legal..just leave me the !@#$ out of your sh--), like the Mets and think Tony Ellsworth is half a douche for !@#$ing over my friend when he broke his frame. What the !@#$ does any of that have to do with YOU people? Jesus.
