  1. He will produce? There are no absolute givens when it comes to the draft and production.
  2. But, if Maybin doesn't produce, we didn't improve our front 7. They should have addressed it more, is the underlying theme on this board today.
  3. I agree completely. Those late picks were as if we didn't even have them. . . totally worthless.
  4. Yes, I am complaining. Just the fact that they didn't take these "flyers" (6th & 7th rd picks) on different positions makes no sense. They could have used more depth along both lines, and the LB core.
  5. After day 1 I was starting to get my hopes up. . . but with Dick still here, I should have known better. After 3 corners drafted last year, including rds 1 and 4, I thought there was no way we'd spend many picks on DBs this year. I guess Dick showed me! Also, I've read several profiles on Maybin. They all say that he is not an every down DE. They talk about a switch to OLB or a pass-rushing specialist that only has one speed move and not much else. I'm on record as saying I'm officially nervous about him over Orakpo. Especially since they're talking about Kelsay still playing most downs My favorite pick of this draft is Nelson, hands down. He appears to be a Tony Scheffler-type 4th rd TE.
  6. What don't you like? The Edwards for Cutler exchange, the Lynch for Wells exchange, the Scheffler addition, or giving up the 2nd or maybe 3rd round pick?
  7. Hypothetically, if you were the Bills GM, what moves would you try to pull off? I'd look strongly at this: Trade: Trent Edwards, Marshawn Lynch and a 2nd round pick (try a 3rd at first and see) for Jay Cutler and Tony Scheffler (I'd also try to throw in Chris Kelsay, which I'm pretty sure would NOT sweeten the deal, but sour it, unless he agreed to a different contract with Denver) Waive Kelsay if Denver won't take him Draft at # 11: Chris "Beanie" Wells, Ohio St. RB Our skill position players of what looks like a high octane offense: QB-Jay Cutler RB-Chris "Beanie" Wells WR-Terrell Owens WR-Lee Evans TE-Tony Scheffler To me, Lynch is a good, but not difference making RB. Wells could be the next Adrian Peterson. He is bigger and faster than Lynch, and isn't the off-field headache. And obviously, Cutler and Sheffler would be considered big upgrades. In this scenario, we wouldn't have a #1 or #2, so we'd need to sign players like Kendall Simmons and Cato June. Kelsay would have to be cut because I'm certain Cutler would require a massive new deal.
  8. Adult? With that post? Dude, now you are going overboard. Go suck (with) Dick. You are a freaking loser yourself if this kind of nonsense is okay with you. Your deeply in the minority here, genius. You're going to find out how much so if you keep this line of defense up.
  9. I don't have to accept that Jauron is going to be coach, anymore than I have to watch this pathetic organization next season. I've always been a big fan, but this may well be the last thing I can stomach. We obviously will never win with this coach (and owner, for that matter). What is so hard to get a grasp on?? IF Marv never hired DJ in the first place, he wouldn't be here now, right? If you are an optimistic Bills fan today, you are just fooling yourself (or deluding yourself).
  10. What's to be confused about? 1)Dick was Marv's hand-picked guy. 2)Ralph was going to go with Marv's decision to get him to come aboard as GM. 3)Dick is still here now. 4)We have sucked. 5)We will suck again now. 6)We will suck as long as DJ is coach. (P.S. if I made any typos putting the words suck and Dick next to other, please ignore)
  11. Marv's the guy who brought in DJ, so I have to fault him as much as anyone. Ralph was going to listen to Marv's advice at that point in order to get Marv aboard as GM. Marv, you have forever tainted your Buffalo legacy. This DJ character is causing a lot more pain than the pleasure you provided in the 80s and 90s. God, I hate Ralph's cheapness and decision-making today more than ever. He really is going to lose the fans now. This board is as cranky and cantankerous as I have ever witnessed, and with true good reason. I HATE keeping Dick.
  12. I thought they were saying it was windy all game long that Monday Night?
  13. Okay, just so I'm clear on this . . . When losing against Cleveland, we run three straight dive plays into the middle of the line to set up a 47 yd FG in very windy conditions. When winning, we throw on 2nd and 6 with JPig Losman at QB as we are approaching the two minute warning and when we've been running all day on them. Ummm, okay. . . but I guess only for the Buffalo Bills historic organization. (Historic in the sense that I have never seen any organization in any sport find more seemingly impossible ways to steal defeat from the jaws of victory.)
  14. Oh, and I forgot to add: I don't believe there is any way Jauron gets fired. He will unfortunately be the coach next year. Financial reasons demand it, in Ralph's mind. Those hoping to see him fired, don't hold your breath. He gets fired at the end of 2009 season at the earliest, and that's if they don't go at least 8-8. If they go 8-8 in 2009, he stays for 2010 too.
  15. Let me preface by saying I've been a die-hard Bills fan for 30 years. Sadly, I have come to expect the worst from them. I didn't watch a down of the game today because with JP starting, I was pretty certain they'd lay an egg. I felt it coming. Unfortunately, they laid an egg much worse than even I anticipated. It has been so torturous over the years, I can hardly begin to describe. Some of you older fans know of what I speak. Deep down in your heart, you know. . . you just know that they'll always ultimately crush your hopes. I have suffered so much, that I now have become apathetic and numb regarding them. The harsh reality is this: The Bills (and Sabres too), being Buffalo franchises, are at a severe handicap. This is a small, dying market. The ownership groups struggle to make the money that other franchises do. Therefore, their spending is not on par with even average franchises, much less the richer ones. The Bills being way under the cap is such damning evidence of this. It is just a simple truth. The front office (no real GM), the coaching staff is bargain basement (Jauron is a freakin' joke. Just promoting Turk made me sick. I knew they'd suck on offense), the scouting staff is also not as good as other richer teams as well, obviously. Therefore, with all of these disadvantages, the end result is a weaker team on the field. It would have to be. Bills fans, you are hoping against hope (and reality) that this team will ever be very good for very long again. The late 80s-early 90s were lightning in a bottle/good luck/Bill Polian-led. Those years were far from the norm. They were the equivalent of the perfect storm. We may get a good year here or there on rare occasion. But, this organization cannot really compete. The norm is they won't. I'll root for them until the day in the not too distant future that they leave. I'll study their draft picks, be hopeful about the few mid-level FAs they'll bring in, but I'll not be really fooling myself. I'll know the truth: No matter what they do, it won't be enough. . . I am so accustomed to this now, I've accepted the reality. It is part of being a Bills fan.
  16. Since I'm a fan of this team and can't break free from them, I want me dead too.
  17. I want the guy dead. He is the worst freaking coach I've ever seen. Who sits on the ball and goes for a 47 yrd FG into the wind?
  18. Yes, I believe we are right about on par with the Detroit franchise (that run in the early 90's was obviously not the norm for this horrible franchise)
  19. At least we'd all be put out of misery . . .
  20. It is surreal what Buffalo sports teams do to us poor fans. It never, EVER stops. The torture is beyond what any normal sports fans have to endure. 4-0 and 5-1 to 5-5??? Lose at home on Monday night to Cleveland in an absolute must win game?? Only in Buffalo can a team get off to a 4-0 start and be virtually eliminated by week 10. the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.
  21. I'm !@#$INg done!
  22. Everything I posted was true, unfortunately for us fans.
  23. I could not believe it when I heard that Crowell was put on IR for a 2-4 week injury. This amateurish front office is a joke. We have no real GM. Not hiring a real GM is a cheap/stupid move by the owner. The Peters debacle and not getting Evans signed to an extension by now are tell-tale signs that the owner has one foot in the grave and the other out of town. Evans is as good as gone next year if we don't franchise him. Bottom line . . . this team can no longer truly compete in the NFL. The playing field is so stacked against us that we fans will ultimately be frustrated to no end. I see where many posters talk up a good, optimistic view of things. But anyone that is being realistic and knows anything, realizes that we are playing extremely shorthanded. And trying to play as shorthanded as this organization does is no way to try and win. . . which we won't do much of.
  24. Bingo!! We have a winner! Both of our QBs suck! We need JPs arm and Trent's head combined somehow!
  25. Sad to say, but I couldn't agree more. I hated the Schonert promotion to OC. I mean, look at the logic (or illogic in this case): he was the QB coach, and the QBs struggled last year. So, why promote him to OC if his "specialty" struggled last year? To me, it's just Ralph and this organization cutting corners. Same thing with no hiring of a real GM. Schonert's offense = Fairchild's offense. God, how I wish we would have hired a real OC.
