  1. It'd make you a guy who gets online and talks bigger than his britches
  2. Hey, I'm rooting big time for Buffalo. Just saying that the bunch of whiners on this board had better get ready.
  3. I live in Denver, and it's really amusing. The talking heads on the local radio sports programs are, for the most part, trying to put a positive spin on all of this. They are poo-pooing Marshall. And they're even more vocal about Cutler. After Cutler's horrid season last year, they are beating their chests like they heisted those picks from the Bears. The fan base sees it a different way than the radio "personalities". If they don't get off to a fast start like last year, the fan base is going to run "Baby Belicheck" out of town on a rail.
  4. Why would we want that slow tub of goo? He stinks . . . I mean really stinks. Trading Lynch for him straight up? Even our front office isn't that dumb (I hope).
  5. There is a feeling of woe is me, doomsday, the sky is falling, etc. all over this board. . . and I understand why and concur with your sentiments. The AFC East is loaded except for us. They talked about the three horse race in the AFC East today on ESPN's "First Take". The talking heads debated who was the team to beat amongst NE, NYJ and Miami . . . our only mention was at the very end when one said "We didn't even mention Buffalo . . . poor Buffalo" . . . I don't think there is anyone sane, and of sound mind that would argue at this moment that we aren't the runts of the litter in the AFC East. Even the most optimistic homers with the rosiest glasses on cannot deny this. But, to add to the woe is me of the board is this: The Bruins are going to knock the Sabres out in the first round. They won the season series 4-2, and were playing better down the stretch. I feel it in my bones. Another New England area team is gonna make us all gnash our teeth in about a week and a half or so. Prepare yourselves.
  6. Was just browsing NFL.com and came across a video called "Draft Journey". It featured Colt McCoy. He seems like a very intelligent kid. . . however, we DO NOT want him as a Bill. Reason: Of all people, Rob Johnson is/was his quarterback coach!! Yes, that Rob Johnson! Check it out for yourselves!
  7. Amen to this post. Those against McNabb, let me ask you this: So, you want to keep the draft pick(s) and build the team for the future? How's that been working for you the last freakin' 10 years???? We've been "building for the future" with no success for the last 10 yrs!!! McNabb IMMEDIATELY makes this team better. He has to. Our current QBs are essentially career back ups.
  8. I don't get it. Why would anyone be against McNabb? For the #41 pick? He could really help us start to turn in the right direction. Football is largely emotion. He'd help in that area. The team would believe more that they could win. A QB can make a big difference. Just ask the Vikings. They had been decent for several years, then Favre had them one play away from the Superbowl. We obviously aren't as good as the Vikings, and McNabb isn't Favre . . . BUT, you cannot tell me we wouldn't be a better team with McNabb as compared to the back up types we now have. We simply would be better with McNabb than without.
  9. If there was a known bidding war between us and the Pats, I'd see your point. But that wasn't the case. Crumpler had been on the market long enough for us to show interest. We didn't.
  10. We never had him in for a visit like Dwan Edwards and Andra Davis. A guy will almost always go visit a team and see what kind of offer they might throw out. We showed no interest. I guess our TEs are so good that the front office doesn't see the need! Hilarious.
  11. I knew that a common response like "Crumpler isn't that great" was coming. That's not the point. I'm saying that the Pats go and fill holes, we don't bother much and are left with more holes than draft picks. Nobody can tell me that this roster couldn't have used a good blocking vet TE like Crumpler.
  12. Okay, the Patriots lost Ben Watson and another tight end this offseason. So, what do they do? They quickly go get a decent veteran replacement in Alge Crumpler in free agency. Crumpler is considered only an average receiving threat, but is considered a 6th O-Lineman when it comes to blocking. My question is: Since we have a bunch of unproven TEs on our roster, and it's been widely known that we've been trying to upgrade our TE position for years now, why did we not sign a guy like Crumpler? It just makes you really see the difference of the haves (Pats) vs. the have nots (Bills). They just quickly fill holes that pop up . . . we let them fester and don't ever fill them until the proverbial "next year". We create more holes that we can fill in one year EVERY year! Really frustrating at this point.
  13. He can't be any worse than what we've got . . . at least to add to the competition. He'd cost almost nothing to sign. If he really stunk it up, then just cut him. I'm saying that it costs virtually nothing to take a look.
  14. All the better, as he wouldn't cost a draft pick and wouldn't cost much out of Ralph's pocketbook. I don't see the downside of signing him, at all.
  15. A Daunte Culpepper signing would make some posters here sick to their stomachs. I'm not one of them. Culpepper is better than alot of other junk that's been mentioned on here as a possible QB suggestion. Matt Hasselbeck, Marc Bulger, Tyler Thigen? Hass and Bulger won't make it though any NFL season in one piece again. They are both beyond brittle at this point. Culpepper has always had a strong arm and is still fairly mobile. He has been on some really bad football teams the last several years, and hasn't had much help. Miami (when they were really down), Oakland and Detroit. Who would have looked good in those situations?? Nobody! And he seemed to be those teams best options at times. Just remember that Culpepper was a Pro-Bowler when he was younger, albeit throwing to a young Randy Moss. But, Daunte does throw a nice deep ball. I bet Lee Evans would be all for signing him. He sure would throw deep more often than Captain Checkdown or noodle-armed Fitz. Now, I'm not saying he'd be the answer, I'm saying he's worth a look. Our current QB situation is unacceptable. I can't imagine heading into the 2010 season with Trent or Fitz as our starting QB. The season would be anti-climactic in the sense that it'd be over before it started, for all real intents and purposes. (I read an article that said Fitz is one of the worst back up QBs around with one of the weakest arms, and lowest avg per completion the last few years. I don't even want that clown on the team. ) Has Culpepper retired? What's his status?
  16. Trent actually said that "nothing needs to change, we just need to start winning. We all like playing for him (Dick Jauron)" Is he really that stupid? Nothing needs to change?? How exactly are they going to just "start winning" if nothing changes? This blew my mind. The guy is mirroring his head coach. I have always been hopeful (but never confident, as these are the Bills) that Trent, with his Bill Walsh accolades, would finally be our franchise QB. Now? Who's the top QBs in the April draft again? Ultimately, however, the QB won't matter as long as the organization is run as it currently is. It is a system of failure.
  17. I couldn't disagree more. Lynch can't hold Fred's jock strap. I believe before Lynch came back, through 3 games, Jackson was second in the entire NFL in yards from scrimmage. Fred has such a better feel for the passing game and screens, it's a joke to compare the two.
  18. Anybody notice that our offense is so out of sink since Lynch returned??? Fred Jackson played full time in the N.E. game and Tampa games and we had some offensive continuity. Now with Lynch and Fred rotating, we have no continuity. Lynch sucks, flat out. They should immediately start Fred and give him virtually the entire load. Lynch should be used only to give Fred a breather when he needs one, and maybe on the occasional short yardage play. In the offseason, trade Lynch for a veteran a O-Lineman or D-Lineman or an LB. I know that they wouldn't get much for Lynch, but it would clearly be addition by subtraction at this point because Fred would need to then carry the load.
  19. The punt on 4th and 1 with 7 min to go was causing my own death almost. Then I almost had a coronary when with approx 1:30 to go on 4th and 10 he freaking punted????? What other coach in history wounld do that? New Orleans was kneeling down on it regardless Dick. I hated Greggg, and Mularkey . . . but this man must die now. Please do us a favor and just die Dick.
  20. How can you say he has another great 4-5 years in him? Nobody can see into the future. I'm not an NFL scout or front office man, so I don't truly know how Seymour's play last year compared to earlier in his career. But I just read the Rotoworld site where it said he is on the downside. And we've all seen where guys in their 30s can get "old overnight". He isn't possibly on the upside of his career in his 30s, as you suggest.
  21. I am now rooting against the Eagles . . . unless they're playing the Cowboys or Pats.
  22. I agree after reading that article . . . can you guys freaking believe what he said "Andy Reid didn't need to call me the best left tackle in the league because I've been proving that for the last 4-5 years." What an idiot of epic proportions! I hope this clown is in for a huge face-first fall. I will laugh my ass off.
  23. Oh and how could I forget! working us over for a 1st rounder for Pigboy Bledsoe!!!
  24. What a total rip off for the Pats! They keep ripping off these stupid teams! Seymore is 30, and on the downside now, and 2011 is likely the first year with a rookie salary cap, so they'll get a top 5 talent for cheap! Why don't we do stuff like this? It seems so easy for the Pats. Remember these moves: 1) trade away Deion Branch to Seattle for a 1st round pick 2) aquire Randy Moss for a 4th rounder net effect: replace Branch with Moss (massive upgrade) and replace a 4th rounder with a 1st. 1) trade for Derrick Burgess for a 4th 2) trade away Richard Seymore for a 1st. similar to the WR exchange in that they're replacing a 4th for a future 1st, but Burgess isn't that much worse than Seymore, and may be younger? Our front office is too stupid to be able to wheel and deal like this. The Pats are working everybody over because they see how to do it. Reminds me of the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys of the late 80s and 90s who kept wheeling and dealing to their advantage (Herschel Walker deal, adding Charles Haley, Thomas Everett, letting overpriced guys go like CB Larry Brown to the Raiders etc.)
