  1. I just posted that I knew this is Nix's draft. It doesn't change the fact that much of the fan base feels a little leery and gun shy about this team's moves, based largely on historical failures
  2. Al Groh at Virginia is famous for it. . . and Washington did this year for the first time. But you're right, not many do run it. I just Googled it and only a handful of teams run it.
  3. I realize that this is Nix's draft. My point is that we've been conditioned to be leery around these parts.
  4. Yeah, like we don't have reason to be skeptical given past history
  5. The home page quotes Troup himself as saying he's been more of a 4-3 DT, but can adjust. . . so much for the notion that he is exclusively a NT
  6. And they aren't looking to upgrade our QB "package" either, I bet
  7. I love it. Same blindly optimistic, unrealistic, wishful thinking that we've had to hang our hopes on for the last decade: Our head coach needing to "coach em' up", a 4th round project QB, and MAYBE an OT in the 3rd round at the earliest??? Not gonna cut it I'm afraid.
  8. We were all hoping for OT help in free agency, we didn't do that and all the excuse makers said forget FAs, well get our OT in the 1st round . . . then the same line and insert "2nd round" . . . and now insert "3rd round". Reality check time. Our OL is at best going to add a 3rd round OT to the mix and then maybe a late rounder. This OLine will be about what it was last year, by definition.
  9. But, we already know our other QBs DO suck. And, we aren't going to address the O Line until the 3rd round . . . at the earliest, anyway
  10. Why? It's not like we have a QB worth shooting on our current roster.
  11. oh my God!!! Another freakin' reach that they could have traded down for
  12. No way anyone left in front of us takes him. Mel Kiper had Clausen rated as the 4th best player in this draft. Do we pass on him in the second round?? Can we afford NOT to take a shot?
  13. Yes, I don't get that pick at all . . . don't they already have the same type of guy, and a good one, in Jamaal Charles????
  14. I thought he was just tired last night, but I noticed the same sleepy look tonight that I had never seen before. Are they puffy? Either that, or like NFL RBs . . . he woke up old
  15. I was on the fence about wanting to sign Flozell before the 1st round . . . but now, I'd be all in favor of him signing as a 1-2 yr stopgap.
  16. I think we're going to steal an OT in the second that was often rated as a first rounder. I believe you'll be happier with this pick by the end of the draft . . . when we've prolly added three O Lineman
  17. At the combine he actually ran a 4.28 on his first 40, then a 4.27 on his second 40 attempt!! Only "Superjets" (Chris Johnson rana 4.24) has run a faster of the RBs recently.
  18. So, OK a third for a fourth . . . shows that you can improve your positions IF you really work the draft
  19. and also to Percy Harvin . . . sounds like Spiller is going to be a pseudo-RB/WR type. I like the pick less if Lynch sticks around. Sounded like Spiller is going to get very limited carries from scrimmage. . . returns, catches etc will have to be a big part of his game. Hate to say it, but Roscoe Parrish and Ted Ginn type pick flashed in my mind in the sense of a somewhat luxury pick.
  20. I was thinking the same thing . . . has anyone broken this down??? . . . I'm too lazy
