  1. My fiancees family lives on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and many of them lived through Camille. They have been through a lot of storms but said never again (Cat 5). It's going to be as bad as Andrew.
  2. Teague looked horrible the first quarter. He missed a number of blocking assignments which resulted in a lot of negative rushing plays.
  3. I don't see that. I see 11-5. I think the Bills win 4 of the first 5 losing to the Bucs in Tampa. (Atlanta is overrated and all they do is run and Buffalo is excellent against the run). I see them losing 1 to NE, to the Jets, the Chargers, and to the Chiefs. There is a remote possibility that the Panthers win one as well. On a side note, man the Patriots looked pretty good last night. Even though they lost a lot of key personnel, I see a 13-3 season for them.
  4. Because I think he has great run response instincts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending him, but I do think he is strong on special teams. He made some great open field tackles yesterday.
  5. Well I think ESPN is going through some structural changes due to the recent competition and it's only going to get worse. The NFL Network has took some of its market share away, and the number of specialty channels (e.g.. OLN, Golf Channel, Speed Channel, etc.), ESPN is becoming more like the ABC of sports (trying to be as general as possible). I've watched some of the states they have done and I have to say that some of it is stupid. I did catch the NY show and the only thing they had on Buffalo was the Bills losing SBs. Sort of stupid to me. The Colorado one was lame as well with them showing most of the highlights of the olympic facility. I think with ESPN it's only going to get worse. Though the multi-dimensional scaling they used to nix hockey didn't show the returns, OLN is going to dip into their share more. I think that is going to force them to come up with even more dumb ideas to keep sports enthusiasts involved.
  6. I would like to see Haddad as the slot receiver. He's got great hands and he gets open. Plus, I think a lot of teams wouldn't respect his ability.
  7. He's very good on special teams. Don't overlook that. He's a key component in the success of April's strategies. On the hand, you're absolutley right. If Milloy gets injured, we'll be bringing back Izell Reese.
  8. I think the speed is still there. He put a juke on that safety yesterday and still was able to get to the outside on Urlacher yesterday. On the other hand, I do not see the speed that he had with Miami. Losman's play has to improve otherwise it's going to be a long season on offense (teams will put 8 in the box).
  9. Wire made some great plays against the run yesterday. I got to give him credit for being a great open field tackler. On the other hand, his pass coverage techniques are still relatively weak. He's strong on special teams and that's whats going to keep him on the roster for the season opener.
  10. Haddad isn't getting cut. He's been great on returns and aside from the once in the blew moon drop has been very reliable. I see them letting go of Jonathan Smith and Wilson before Haddad.
  11. hey i still have two unopened boxes in my kitchen. Are you hungry?
  12. no problem bob. yeah the one on jimmy carter blvd by the oasis is one of them but this one is by the gwinnett place mall.
  13. yeah Barnacles has the old big satellite dishes or you take the other option as well. They have most of the preseason games every week.
  14. Barnacles in Duluth. Its the only place you will catch it in metro Atlanta. Its about 19 minutes from Alpharetta toward I-85 (take old milton towards I 85) which turns into pleasant hill. I will be wearing a Bledsoe jersey myself.
  15. John Madden was one hell of a coach. For more than 100 wins, he has the second highest winning percentage only behind Lombardi. It seems to me a lot of you didn't exist or were in diapers when he did coach. All you say is his announcing (I think he is a colorful). For a 112-39-7 record, I will take that any day of the week.
  16. He would be perfect for the Harlem Globetrotters considering he is always full of theatrics.
  17. Philly knew this when they got him from Balitmore. TO is just leveraging the situation. As long as he is one of the best, he can get away with the s hit he is pulling. What would he be doing? Probably making a rap album. Every other player here in Atlanta seems to do that in their spare time.
  18. I think TO is getting the short end of the stick here. Granted his behavior last week on the practice field was a little bizarre (reminds me of David Boston a couple of years ago with San Diego) but trying to go off and get more money even though he is under contract is acceptable. GMs renegotiate contracts in a heartbeat when a player has a bad season. It's like there is a ceiling and that's it. Philly needs TO. They won't trade him and I guarentee you that they won't make him inactive before games. Renegotiate his contract and be done with it (he'll get injured again and then the GM will finalize an injury settlement). (That's what a lot of fans don't get. Most of the time, the players never see the amount of money they sign for unless of course it's guarenteed.)
  19. I agree with Kiper's and Clayton's analysis is partly correct. Green Bay's defense is weak and Losman made some bad throws down field. One thing I noticed on the 20 yard pass up the middle was Losman threw on the edge of his heel not getting enough umpf...into the ball. It was thrown short. The second issue I saw (and this may be the coaches telling him to resist) was not running into the end zone when there was no defender (maybe was resistant because of the coaches again (we don't need another broken leg)) and the third was the poor decision on the throw to the side (where it almost got picked off). It looked like he was throwing off his heel again. He also made a rookie mistake of running on the one play when Josh Reed was open. On the flip side, I thought his slant passes and hooks to Reed, Moulds and Parrish were excellent. They were crisp and precises passes. I think he had butterflies and he should be fine in the long term. I did spend a week at the camp last year, and I can tell you that Losman does not have Bledsoe's arm. On the other hand, if he can play smart, we'll win a lot of games. If he does have problems, I have no issue with Holcomb taking over. He was the most impressive QB on either side. That guy can throw. Let's see how Losman does this weekend. I think we'll have a better insight when he can actually take some hits. Any thoughts?
  20. If we don't get at least a second rounder, we hold him. He has 1 year left on his contract and there is a ton of RBs that are UFAs. Too much supply out there.
  21. Don't blame the officials on that they made the right call. You can't block people when you have a QB making a pass. Reed didn't need to block that LB. Reed's been a bust as well. On a different note, what the hell was Clements and Bledsoe thinking. They waited to the 4th qtr to get evans involved. I hate to say it but it was like men against boys today.
  22. I think Losman is going to be a bust. Don't see the talent in him....he was a very high pick.
  23. Julius Jones is going to be a monster next year. This was a great RB class this year (Jones, Jones, Brown, etc.).
  24. mcmahon had his chance... Batch is too old and Holcomb doesn't fit the mold of the offense. Collins or Brees.
