Tenn. DE Robert Ayers visiting Bills

No? I never disagreed with you about Ayers' talent vs the run. The more I learn about this guy the more I like! -
Tenn. DE Robert Ayers visiting Bills

Don't forget that Ayers played in the NFL's semipro league (the SEC). That and his late maturity may have been the reason for the low sack total. Let's face it given the fact that every single draft eligible DE has a question mark, I'm leaning toward drafting the bigger guy who dominated Senior bowl week and the combine. That's who I'm rolling the dice on. Not the little guy with big sack numbers who's trying to bulk up to play DE in the NFL. I also like that he isn't the "situational" pass rusher. I hate that! Since when did the Bills EVER know when the Pats are going to pass or run! -

Mike Mayock kicked him into his top twenty based on that game. Just because he didn't get a sack doesn't mean he wasn't causing havoc. Clearly neither of us saw the game. Anyone here watch that Bama/Vol game care to add their opinion? -

At first glance, Robert Ayers reminds me a lot of Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora. Same frame, same athleticism. Some guys just mature later than others. Hence the term "late bloomer". For the guys who said he's done nothing, I've read that he had a great 2008 season. He was unstoppable in the Alabama game and apparently did the same at Senior Bowl week. Put on the tape of the Giant/Pats Superbowl and remind yourself what a big nasty DE can do to Tom Brady's game. Ayers very well could be worth the risk of drafting him at #11. Sorry, but I do put a lot of stock in him being a "late bloomer". Enough of drafting little high motor guys and inflated linebackers and expecting them to exert a pass rush! -
How about we we trade Dick Jauron and Trent Edwards to the Pats for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. I'm thinking that might be a good start! Seriously though, I think that having a good head coach and QB are the main ingredients to NFL success. I give Jauron no shot at becoming a good head coach, Edwards is still an unknown right now. As far as the trading down thing, the Colts and Steelers are very successful and yet remain franchises that do not move around on draft day very much at all.

Dude's going to be picked in the first round, so you can forget all about that third round scenario. -

Also, the Vols' Jerod Mayo wasn't being considered a first rounder until the last week before the draft and the Pats ended up selecting him at #10. Given his rookie season, he obviously wasn't a reach. -

Looks like Robert Ayers has finally hit the TSW radar screen! http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=85250 I heard he was a one man wrecking crew in the Alabama game. For those mentioning the second round as a possibility, you can forget it. That's a pipe dream. I'm so glad the Bills are taking a good long look at him. -
Joseph Cassano cost American taxpayers 150 Billion

All Americans have had enough. They keep saying they're too big to fail while our country goes bankrupt in the process of not letting them fail. -

The media???? Other than that NY Daily news article, this supreme a-hole is getting near zero coverage in the media. In regards to who should be a whipping boy? Cassano, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Christopher Cox and everyone else who had a hand in (and turned a blind eye to) what eventually led to this economic collapse should be thrown behind bars alongside Bernie Madoff. In the end, we the people have to stop voting in these a-holes. -
It can be argued that this gem of a guy was ultimately the person responsible for AIG's collapse. Last year he stepped off the doomed AIG plane with the ultimate 34 million golden parachute (with a million a year consulting agreement...AFTER AIG WAS BLEEDING BILLIONS FROM HIS DERIVATIVE BETTING SCHEME). It's no wonder why he's staying put in London... http://www.nydailynews.com/money/2009/03/1...eph_cass-1.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...nsurer-AIG.html http://hallofidiots.blogspot.com/2009/02/joseph-cassano.html

Why is no one talking about Robert Ayers at #11?
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great response! Thank you for being contrary to my thoughts while not being a douche about it. You make good points about the questionable DEs in this draft. Almost makes me say what the buck and see what adding that TE Pettigrew to this team would do for the 2009 Bills. -

OK douche, please tell us who you deem as being "worthy" of the #11 pick and it must be someone who has a reasonable chance of being there when we pick... -

I give him a better shot at having success at the next level as a DE than I do the undersized DEs like Brown and Maybin. It looks as if this guy might be a classic late bloomer in terms of maturity on and off the field. He had a great senior bowl week, did great at the combine, did not rest on his laurels and backed up the numbers at the Vol's pro day. The guy has a classic DE's NFL body. If the Pats can draft a Vol higher than expected (Mayo) last year and have great success, why should the Bills go chalk and draft a guy that will get tossed around at the next level. The Bills need to start getting bigger on defense and Ayers looks like the perfect fit. Do I wish he had more sacks? Yes, but I think he is just scratching the surface on what he can do. It just could be that Ayers should be considered as the better option than the small DE's that have been discussed as potential Bills picks at #11. Look at what the Giants DEs did with Tom Brady in the Superbowl, those guys are not of the wispy DE variety, they are of the BIG DE variety. -
Sorry, but this doesn't even register a 1 on the TO controversy meter. If anything it's funny how he discusses it without the fake ediquette. Owens is a Hall of Famer and Hardy is barely out of his diapers.

Thanks for making my point about some of the unhinged Bills fans. The guy has a short fuse, just like you! Mental stability has nothing to do with someone's character. You obviously haven't read very many of my posts, I'm a huge supporter of the Bills so-called "bad character" guy Marshawn Lynch. As for Edwards, he does have a noodle arm. So what. What's that got to do with bringing in an unstable QB to start for the Bills? While I have major questions about Edwards, I'd rather have him than someone who I thought was unhinged to be the leader of the team.

There something very Glenn Close/Fatal Attraction about Jay Cutler. If I were Josh I'd start wearing a bullet proof vest. As for the Bills...the fans are crazy enough, we don't need an unhinged QB. Pass.

Great post. It's sad when our punter is the most fiery person on the Bills sideline. Hey, now we got two fiery guys! -
LEE EVANS said hes the #1 WR(not TO)

I love me some Lee but... 2008: Evans = 3 touchdowns Owens = 10 touchdowns Didn't take long for the media to try and fan the flames of that bonfire! -
Bills Official Spokesman chimes in...

WHY IS CHRIS KELSAY STILL ON THIS TEAM!!!??? Hey Chris...YOU SUCK!!!! -
This is clearly a desperation move. Dick Jauron and TO could not be more further apart on the football pendulum. They are the polar opposites. Dick Jauron is worried about his job beyond this season and saw the golden opportunity. This is his deal with the devil so to speak. But I think this is a good thing for us Bills fans! Maybe that old loser Dick is finally getting some football religion. His choir boys who he always claims are playing hard for him, never did. They took their beatings very politely, just like their head coach. We all saw it, they never looked like they cared that they went 0-6 within the division or when they got beat by the Browns and Niners. He talks about character, but there never seems to be much of that on his teams when the chips are down on Sundays. This team became a lifeless dreary depressing ball to watch. So hopefully loser Dick is changing his tune and will actually make scoring more points than the opposing team a priority!
-
Never got into the debate about TO here, just argued against the fans who wanted Coles. I honestly never thought TO would ever end up coming here so I never gave it a second thought. TO is a much MUCH better receiver than Coles and I think he's worth the risk to a team that hasn't reached the playoffs since forever. I wanted the Bills to give Steve Johnson the chance at the #2 wideout position, but this one year supercharged experiment with TO is alright with me. It's my hope his intensity will rub off on our team full of lifeless drone players who seem to only like to talk about how hard they play and then proceed to sleepwalk through the games on Sundays. The Buffalo Bills just got a WHOLE lot interesting. Now we can only hope the Bills actually try to score points this year and not look like the endzone's got kudies. That means no more deferring you Dick!!

Marshawn Lynch And Draft Picks.
1billsfan replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marshawn Lynch is the the only Buffalo Bill that I can see who puts 100% into every play, while the choir boys like Kelsay only talk about how hard they play. I'm sorry, but who has more character again???? Mr. Lynch isn't committing grand larceny like Mr. two million dollar a sack Kelsay. I'd take 53 Lynchs before taking 53 Kelsays any day of the week. If that makes me a bad person then so be it. Bruce Smith wasn't a choir boy and I don't see anyone complaining about him very much. Time to get over it like we did with Bruce's mistakes. -
Didn't Ralph say that the team needed more talent..
1billsfan replied to noplayoffsagain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph stated that after giving his loser of a head coach a contract extension. There is no way he could give that reporter an honest answer, still retain his loser head coach and sell tickets to the 2009 season. The fallback excuse was that it was the players that were no good and that they'd get better players through affordable free agents and the draft. The Bill had enough talent to beat the Browns and 49ers at home and win two of their AFC East games, it was the coaching staff that was at fault for blowing a potential 11-5 season.
