  1. pretty average TE higlights. But I got 2 things from the video.

    1) It sickens me to actually root for a dolphins player to actually do anything good. I had to stop watching around 2 minutes in.

    2) If you watch all the passing routes (instead of just Clay) and Defense at every snap, you will see that Tannehill looks like he understands NFL Quarterbacking. He seems to make quick reads, AND, once he decides, the ball placement is really sweet.

    Just sayin.

I am kinda wondering what your definition is of above average TE highlights......

  2. Rd2 Stephone Anthony ILB Clemson 6-3 243 4.56 forty,

nasty likes to hit. Oh yeah with speed.

Rd 3 Ali Marpet OG Hobart. Hard working , rising talent 6-4 307 4.98 forty

Rd 5 Clayton Geathers SS UCF 6-2 218 4.55 forty. Hits like a truck. Good size.

Rd 6a Jake Ryan Olb Mich 6-2 240 hustler. Fill in. Special teams

Rd 6b Jeremiah Poutasi OG Utah 6-5 335 mauler type. good run blocker.

Rd 7 Jamarcus Nelson wr 5-10 156 4.28 forty. Why ? Because we love fast little guys. Someone for Goodwin to run with.

I totally appreciate the though that goes into these mocks......

We have addressed a lot of areas this offseason finally finished Clay

I am a strong suspicion that the bills are going to take a OL in the 2nd round....and Bryce Petty in the 3rd if he is there

  3. I will say this about EJ

You could TOTALLY see that he was thinking too much out there with the last coaching staff

    "dont turn the ball over"

    "dont turn the ball over"

    "dont turn the ball over"

You could see it in the way he carried himself on the field.......

    Then he got benched

Then you could clearly see he was pissed even though he took the benching with charactor........"well if I ever get another chance I am gonna start slinging it"

To be perfectly honest....I think you are going to see a LOT of interceptions at the start of camp from EJ Manuel.....and as time goes on you will see them diminish. Lets just see what happens.

  4.

This is actually a pretty accurate breakdown. There are a few avenues to lower the hit next year he didn't explore (i.e. signing Gilmore long term), but it does illustrate some of the issues we'll face in the near future. More importantly, it illustrates these issues are, in fact, real -- and they won't go away by pretending Pegula has some mythical accounting powers that the other 30 billionaire owners in the league don't possess.

The most glaring problem to me is that while we will be fighting to stay under the cap in the upcoming years, these figures don't allocate any future spending for anything more than a stopgap QB.

That is why we will probably be trying to draft our future qb

  5. When we signed Rex and I heard his opening presser about the running game, I saw the OC we brought in with Roman, I saw the player pool available at QB.

I felt the Bills would be going all in with running game. Far beyond the level most coaches take it. I thought we we would lead the league in rushing attempts and do it in a diverse way. Which for me meant a hybrid NFL/College offense. A lot of read option, jet sweeps, and things Roman did with the 49ers. Then I thought we would have our power sets, FB/TE, conventional I-Form, utilize the PA passing game out of it. The focus being when the QB is asked to throw it's almost always in viable PA situations, 3rd and shorts, and other circumstances that we could minimize his reads or potential for turnovers.

Now that the off-season has played out, this picture I had of the Bills offense is turning into a carbon copy of what I expected. Shady gives us a lot of diversity in the option run game, power run game, and passing game. He's a do it all center piece I envisioned, I just didn't expect they would go this high end for that centerpiece. Felton is available for our power sets, as is Clay. Harvin adds some great diversity. He can run those jet sweeps, screens, and complimentary option play that can extend off traditional read option concepts.

The only thing I pictured needing that we didn't have for this offense to work was an extremely dynamic runner at QB. Manuel is mobile and can make plays with his feet. He is not dynamic. This type of offense needs more then a mobile QB if your going for the all in version. I didn't picture the Alex Smith version of Roman in SF, rather the CK version, and as these signings progressed it seemed like the CK version was even more likely. Enter Taylor, who immediately comes in being one of the top 3 most dangerous running QB's in football. He has experience, Flacco tutelage, and some experience. From the tape I have seen on Taylor, if you can minimize his reads slightly, more playing, less thinking, I feel he could be outstanding. His play making potential and ability to create when things break down is also a thing of beauty.

I think Taylor will start this year and not because I'm selling EJ short or building Taylor up. I just think if you want to be the most run heavy and run dominant team in football, you want that dynamic threat to run at QB. Tyrod is the only player on the roster that teams would have to heavily game plan with in that regard. If he doesn't start, I certainly expect him to be part of package sets.

As a side note, like most, I would like another lineman added. But I do expect some solid development from our existing players in this department as well.

Your guess is probably every bit as good as mine but.....

I look at this team with all of its weapons and I think they are gonna want a veteran distributor of the ball under center......I mean look at it

Watkins - you play with a running QB you are taking a lot of him out of the offense.....we gave up a lot for this kid and he is VERY talented

Woods - Pure route runner.....he needs someone throwing him the ball

Harvin - You are better off passing it to him or handing if off to him to get the most out of him

Clay - Security blanket TE......blocks....catches....even runs with the ball

Shady - why have a running qb when you have the 3rd best runner in the NFL....also a pass catcher

    Felton - safety valve catcher......

I think what they need from the QB is a guy who makes good decisions and put the ball into the hands of the above playmakers

I really think its gonna be Matt Cassel

  6. If anyone else wants to do it this way, fanspeak is what I used. I don't fully agree with any of the big boards, but I find the Composite board to be the most in line. Anyway, here's where I sit based on how the cards fell on that site.

    50 - R2P18
    OT JAKE FISHER
    OREGON
    81 - R3P17
    TE CLIVE WALFORD
    MIAMI (FLA.)
    147 - R5P19
    OLB GENEO GRISSOM
    OKLAHOMA
    172 - R6P12
    S IBRAHEIM CAMPBELL
    NORTHWESTERN
    178 - R6P18
    C SHAQUILLE MASON
    GEORGIA TECH
    209 - R7P17
    QB CODY FAJARDO
    NEVADA

Everything I've seen has us still having both, not sure on the details though, honestly.

If wonder if now that we have Clay we might go Petty in that 3rd round spot

  7. Watkins. Woods. Harvin. McCoy. Clay.

Name me a team that comes close.

I know we beat them....but Cobb, nelson, devante Adams, lacy, rodgers

Because Whaley has ALSO found a way to field a dominating defense that shut down Aaron Rogers.....

I mean.....let that sink in for a minute

Just about every team......that MIGHT have the offensive talent we have doesnt have close to the DEFENSIVE talent we have.....they had to sacrifice one for the other......

    Gettin excited man

  8. What you have to take into consideration is how the TE will actually be USED in a offense when determining value of the TE (I frankly dont care how they are ranked because often players are not used to their max strengths)

Clay is Romans new Vernon Davis.......

    - He blocks

    - He can bust the seem

    - He makes big catches

    - He is a mismatch on the field

    - Taking him directly hurts a AFC East rival......and we need to win the East to make the playoffs

    He is right for us.....
