  1. Fred is gone regardless who they bring in.

We are not taking a 2.7 mill cap hit to see if there is anything left.

We noticed a huge decline last year and that will continue.

He should avoid the perception of disrespect and just retire.

    Imo

I had a feeling that this might be the case.......this is shady's team now. Love u though Fred

Not sure about your "connections" to OBD, but respectfully, but I'm really starting to question your football knowledge based on your recent posts.

Before his groin injury, Fred was averaging 4.3 ypc -- just a scooch below his 4.4 career average. He also had 33 catches at a 7.9 ypc (vs an 8.2 career average). Coming back from the injury too soon (after missing only two games) was the problem, IMO, as he never had the same burst.

Freddie's no doubt on the downside of a great career. But to say he should retire is just plain dumb,,,

Yes because it is not like Leroi has not been shotcalling things before they happen

    Come on Lurker

  2. Just to throw this out there (and for some reason the sports beat writers cannot seem to understand this)

This is BUFFALO.....15 years and counting no playoffs Buffalo Bills

I think these guys are just too comfortable with the bills not making the playoffs every year so they crap all over the bills doing something different (you know......like trading for a top 3 NFL back......backing up the brinks truck to make sure he is happy and doesnt hold out.......trading 1st round picks for WR with huge potential......stuff like that

I am not saying they root against us.....its just a shellshock for them that the bills might actually become relevent.

  3.

We freed up $4.75M this year but lost a TON of flexibility. We're taking a cap increase of about $1.5M over the next 2 years, then eating another $5.2M the last 2 years even if he is gone. He's here for 3 years no matter what, possibly 4, no way in hell 5. We gave up way too much for a player still under contract with virtually no guaranteed money left.

In case you have not noticed it......we are biulding a team to win now and not later.

  4. Freddy can want all he wants.... 3 years puts him at 37 at retirement essentially. Not happening.

    Agreed on this

I dont think there are many here that DONT love Fred Jackson what he has done for this team and even what he can do for this team in a backup role to Shady this year........

Fred...this really is all for your benefit...you DESERVE to play in the playoffs for all of your contributions to this team.......but lets face it......hurt EVERY year.....your long in the tooth......

Would love to see a front office position offered to Fred when this is all said and done

I think you just don't understand the cap convo - no offense meant

I will be the first one to admit that I dont understand it.....but it sure sounds good the way its being explained here

  5. Hold on. I thought the reason we could so readily unload kiko was because Harris was all but signed. You mean some posters were wrong about that? Oops

No we were ready to unload Kiko because

    - They had a chance to get a top 3 NFL running back

    - The D was top 5 without him last year

    - He has had two ACL injuries on the same knee

  6. If I were the Bills, I'd tell Mario we will lose Hughes because we cannot justify paying so much money on the DL. Ask him to take a bit of of pay cut so we can retain Hughes and keep the DL together.

I think this has a lot less to do with players restructuring/taking pay cuts and more to do with Marcel Darius

Marcel must be kept at all costs.....and he is going to get a VERY big contract.

  7. Assuming 4-3, DE, WLB, SS

    Assuming 3-4, OLB, MLB, SS

You are assuming that safety is a weakness? It was not last year when they were interchanging Duke Williams and Graham into the safety spots

I agree, from my view the Bills have MILDLY upgraded the offensive talent and seriously downgraded the talent of the other side of the ball while spending signifcantly more cap money leaving little to spend on a QB should someone unexpctedly become available (Cutler, RG3). I really dislike the Casell trade.

If you consider McCoy a mild upgrade I really dont know what to tell you.

He is one of the very best backs in the league
