  1. Yep, I posted this to troll...that was my sole goal. My first troll post in almost 20 years of posting. Look at the list again.

Woods-Has not played up to even a marginal standard for a number 2 last year or this and he is the Jerry Hughes of the defense. The Jets game in DET last year was the only game where he has been a true difference maker in the last 2. Bills need more out of a number 2.

Where to start with this. I assume that you mean "Jerry Hughes" because he takes stupid penalties....the WHOLE TEAM is taking stupid penalties and Woods is not even the most frequent offender. Woods numbers are down so far this year (and of course....a smart person would take ONE season of status and equate it to the players career.......no....you guage players over their CAREER numbers. Robert Woods has been here 3 years.....in the previous two years his numberr are

    2014 Buffalo Bills 16 65 699 10.8 43.7 37 5 2013 Buffalo Bills 14 40 587 14.7 41.9 57 3

Those ARE number 2 wide receivers numbers. The problem is we dont have a wide receiver on the team putting up number ONE wide receiver numbers right now. This is supposed to be Sammy Watkins who is injured. This offense is not biult around the type that had Eric Moulds and Peerless Prices have 1000 seasons with Drew Bledsoe at quarterback.

Bradham--at least 2 critical missed tackles and from my game watch -- out of position a lot. FA who will not get a decent contract offer from the Bills

Im gonna say this one time more and I feel this is acceptable to say stop with the friggen "this is gonna happen that is gonna happen YOU DO NOT KNOW UNLESS YOU WORK FOR THE BILLS...its irritating and frankly inciteful. Your just trying to draw a reaction and does not nothing to generate discussion......it kills it

Nigel Bradham has missed some tackles this year.....he is also a homegrown talent who has grown into a hard hitting enforcer linebacker who has made big plays for us....once again looking over the course of his career with us and not just THIS SEASON.......now will he get a big contract from us? I ALSO tend to think that he will not but not because he isnt a good player.....its because Doug Whaley is the linebacker whisperer or something........he finds linebackers......he is good at it. At a time when we will be managing cap direction to make sure guys like Gilmore get signed.......imo we wont keep everybody but that will work itself out.

Glenn-FA who will not get an acceptable contract offer from the Bills AHEM

Im on the fence about Glenn......I think he has reached his ceiling. In my opinion the BEST thing that can happen is he is retained.....Bradham allowed to leave....and then move Glenn to RIGHT TACKLE which I think he could be one of the best in the league......just dont know what is gonna happen yet.

Robey-most picked on CB we have when he is on the field. His playing time diminishes greatly when Leodis comes back and his recent extension is not a deterrent.

Please show me where Robey is being "picked on" when he is on the field......the guys that are gettng picked on are the safeties...that is the real problem......Robey has played pretty well and is on a modest contract.

You got no arguement from me about Henderson......I am just not impressed.....gets hurt every game too. They should just play Kujo to see what we have there to make a determination of how many OL we need to draft next year.

Manuel - Rex was being kind when he said the kid missed a couple of reads last week. He missed a lot of reads -- still a recognition problem. There are better QB's out there.

No....there really are not better QBs out there right now. Still generated the team to 21 points against the undefeated bengals. And missing your top WR targets HAS to be taken into consideration when evaluating a QB

Duke Williams - Not a smart safety -- which is the key to Rex's defense

Safeties are NOT the key to Rex Ryan defenses.......quality corners are. If you dont like what is happening now I can tell you this imo would be a complete tire fire if Gilmore and Darby were not playing so well. HOWEVER.....our safety position is so bad right now that is where we are being attacked. Duke Williams should never see the field. and would not if we were not decimated by injuries.

Aaron Williams - this is the 3rd year in a row he has a neck issue -- at some point in time he has to ask himself if he wants a life after football

If that neck issue were TRULY that serious the bills would not have let him play. They are showing a propensity to play it safe with their players which is good for long term longevity of the player. EASILY the best safety we have (which is something we need to address....you dont subract talent while trying to improve your team....you ADD to it

Baccari Rambo - Good at centerfield but not in match up coverage. He does a fair amount of match up in this D and can't hack it.

    A hitter.....cant cover

Kyle Williams - I know a lot of folks love him--I do to ...but another season, another knee injury -- I think its the third year in a row. He may just hang it up. Also, while his snap count has stayed high this year 346/402 total defensive snaps -- there were three series last game pre-injury where he sat...a pretty significant reduction in snaps.

Mario-The cap hit may be large -- but you can spread it over two years...and this D simply doesn't use him. Him being present keeps Rex from implementing what he knows.

Kyle Williams imo is probably about to go the Fred Jackson route in Buffalo......you always try to anticipate when to get rid of these guys a year or two before they totally hit the wall. Its gonna be a tough cut but he is making pretty high coin. The question is......can the younger cheaper Charles come close to matching his productivity.

Bash away...but here's some reasoning for each guy on the list.

Why do you need someone to "Bash" your posts......it they were presented in a way that was not trying to incite there would be no bashing...it would just be your opinion and open to discussion?

Pegula's are committed to Rex. Rex is the only element of this that has their stamp. Rex won't hesitate, after the experience in NY, to let Terry and Kim know that he doesn't have the players to implement his system on D and that Whaley has failed at QB and OL. Rex is the one who pushed for Taylor and Taylor may be a great find. These moves all free up money to sign Taylor, fix the OT position and get Rex the system players he wants on D.

I find it interesting how people like to look where Whaley "failed".........for ANY GM IN THIS LEAGUE when the success outweighes the failures......that GM is not going anywhere because the alternative could be much worse where a GM comes in and totally screws up the success that has been biult. Doug WHaley has drafted WELL........he has made trades that have been home run hits......he isnt going ANYWHERE (In my opinion)

Flame away...Also--read the last paragraph--there is a good chance this team turns it around...if they do maybe none of this happens...but from what I have seen thus far -- this team is not as close to playoff caliber as we hoped and wallowing in hope that guys come around or play better is a worse strategy than some significant changes in my opinion.

Why the disclaimer after all of these matter of fact statements on these players? We are 3-3......I see talk like this and I wonder if we have actually won a game this season. 10-6 is totally doable for a team that finished 9-7 last year and has been wallowing in 7-9 territory for a long long time.

By the way.....would not call Whaley a "Failure at QB" because frankly a 100 percent tyrod taylor has done pretty darn well......once again....injuries.

  2. Has Kyle Williams really underperformed?

I don't look at the advanced stats or focus specifically on him while watching games, but I seem to remember him abusing interior OLs just the same as he always has.

I am sure the mindless answer to this is that sacks are down.....which is of course Williams fault.....because of course he is injured

It couldnt be a scheme thing

  3. So freaking fragile, this team is. Just terrible.

What is even more fragile is some of its fans.....predicting a loss to a 1-5 Jags team.

We have been a much better team on the road

People are down because we lost to a undefeated team last week

Have some fricken faith jesus (not directed at you joe)

  4. Keep living in the past and holding on to players who don't fit new systems and whose skill level is ebbing...that's not the Pegula way...no one I named in the first bullet list is core to this team. Woods has been awful this year.

Your philosophy keeps the team out of the playoffs for the next 14 years. The only person the Pegula's actually selected is Rex--he is the only one assured of anything.

Actually you want to know what keeps teams out of playoffs? Blowing things up time and time and time and time again.

This is why football people smarter then you are running the team......which is on a upward slope beginning with last years 9-7 season

  5. I am going to say Seantrel Henderson

For someone of his athletic ability you wonder how the guy gets beat so much

Then it seems he is hurt at least once every game

I dont know if Kujo is the answer but at this point I demote Henderson and find out.....we have already brought in another Offensive linemen and we really need to address this in the offseason.

If we want to run the ball we need tough players

  6. Going to throw some things out there as we speed toward the bye week. If the season were to end today...

Where to start with this lame post.....which should be reworded to "IF I WAS THE GM" or something like that

    - Robert Woods, Seantrel Henderson, Duke Williams, Bacarri Rambo, EJ Manuel, Nigel Bradham, Percy Harvin, Cordy Glenn, Kyle Williams, Nickel Robey are all looking for work.. Woods is having a sub par year and has hurt the Bills with penalties more than he's helped them. The rest have just plain underperformed or in Harvin's case not shown up...

Robert Woods had an excellent rookie season.....now finds himself having to share the ball with other players. S. Henderson is a find as a 7th round pick....in his SECOND year.....Duke Williams and Rambo are both depth players so you are not looking for pro bowlers there, EJ Manuel looks like a solid backup QB in the NFL, Bradham isnt going to be looking for work....he will be looking for a huge payday which he will get, Percy Harvin is injured, Cordy Glenn is "solid" and will also be looking for a big payday, Kyle WIlliams is injured, Robey has been solid and on a good contract. The WHOLE TEAM is having problems with injuries not just Woods.

    - Aaron Williams and Marquis Goodwin both retire....(another huge cap hit with A. Williams)

WIlliams is coming back this season.....why would he retire....as for Goodwin.....not every player is gonna pan out.

    - Mario Wiiliams is a potential offseason cut after the date where they can spread the cap hit-- Even with taking the whole cap hit in 2016, its a $12 million net cap gain. Rex's system doesn't utilize his talents and the Bills can only afford one $100M D lineman.

The Bills are not cutting Mario Williams.....Rex might still be figuring it out but while they do that Mario is a excellent run top guy along with his sacks.....as far as what they can and cannot afford......talk to me when the bills actually LOSE a player that hurts them while they give these contracts to their most valuable players.....when that happens people can B word.....before that you dont know what your talking about

    - If Jerry Hughes didn't carry an $11.6 million dead cap hit -- he would be on the "looking for work" list. Another net negative contributor thus far.

Yes because of course his past production and age totally makes him a canadate for this.....riiiiiigggght

    - A football czar would be brought in....speculate that its someone Polian recommends -- the list includes Telesco, Caldwell if either are fired...and Whaley gets pissed and leaves.

Because of course people like to parrot that Whaley has done a bad job....which he hasnt...but carry on

    - Danny Crossman would be let go/not retained

About the only thing worth discussing in this post. A ST's coach should not need THIS MUCH help to formulate a legit special teams unit in the NFL......special kickers.....draft picks dedicated soley to special teams.....players like Boobie DIxon who cant play RB but is kept because of ST's prowess.

Things can turn around fast in the NFL....the Bills can go on a run and the team stays pat, restructures M. Williams and Clay and secures Taylor for the future-- this team is capable of winning seven to nine of the remaining 10 games, but this team has not played up to its capability nor has it been well coached.... Its time to turn it around or face a lot of player and front office turn over this offseason.

Nobody is going anywhere when a team has taken this many injuries to vital spots AND a staff is in its 1st year. Not happening.

  7. I just want to point out

Do you realize that their QB for the past few seasons has been on the hot seat for never being able to win a playoff game, having a weak arm, and not being able to perform when Green was injured?

Look....the Bengals are doing great right now.....but they are EXTREMELY healthy right now two. Health is the greatest thing you can have in football.

Its a forum....and so of course discussions like this are good....but its still really really early.

  8. I gotta say I was never in the playoffs camp as this team simply did not build the offensive up enough to properly run Greg Romans power run scheme. IMO While the left side of the line improved a lot the right side is still quite bad. The run game looks so good because the QB was the leading rusher in the Tennessee game, and he runs quite a bit. Then both McCoy, Karlos are making the line look better then it really is with their moves, and power

Going into this season thinking that this years defense was going to be special, as in 85 Bears special. This years defense is not only not special, its not even that good in any aspect. This years defense is trying to run soft coverage schemes, and is just not getting any pressure on the QB. Against the Bengals that 2014 #1 team in sacks was only able to get one stinking lousy pressure on QB Andy Dalton

The special teams stinks too, as in another area where the team was one of the best is now only mediocre at 20th or so, and if not for the punter being the MVP of almost every game they would be even worse.

Then you have all the injuries to the skill players #1 WR Watkins seems like he is always injured, #2 WR Percy Harvin is now gone for who knows how long. #4 WR Marquise Goodwin on IR. RB's McCoy still battling an injury, and Karlos Williams still out in concussion protocol. The latter might be a continuing problem considering the way the guy runs.

If all that weren't enough then there is the league leading penalty situation with this team that keeps shooting themselves in the foot with game after game.

Murderers row coming up after the bye week with three straight AFC East games. week 9 Miami at home, week 10 @ Jets, week 11 @ NE

At this point its looking more like 8-8, and so much will still depend on "IF" Rex Ryan can fix his defense, and "IF" he can fix the penalty situation! And "IF" he can fix the special teams by wedging his foot squarely up Crossman's arse!

Yes because Miami has shown itself to be such a juggernaut and because the Jets have had such a strong schedule

  9.

I'm not saying this to be a debbie-downer...I'm really not...But I think the Playoffs are already all but impossible...Too many key injuries, and it's only Week 7...

I would love to be an optimist...I really would...But I don't see it...If the Defense was playing out-of-their-minds-good at this point I could definitely hold out hope...But it's not...And I think Rex's system is just a bad fit for the personnel on the D side...I honestly don't give them any better than a 50/50 shot to beat the Jags Sunday...They are SO banged up right now on Offense it's almost laughable if it was not so depressing...And if they lose that game, I think they're done...I know that sounds ridiculous with 9 games remaining...But 3-4, and 1-3 at Home, with the stretch coming up after the Fish Home game that will see the Bills play 5 of 6 on the Road including at the Jets and Pats...The only way they have even an outside chance at a Playoff spot is to hit that stretch at 5-3...And even then it will be tough for them to come out of that stretch better than 8-6...This team, as it is currently, is not beating the Jets at NY, and definitely not beating the Pats in NE...The Redskins are tough on Defense, the Eagles are getting better, and it's never exactly easy to win at KC...Even if they do come out of that stretch at 8-6 they still have to beat the Jets at home and a Cowboys team that will have Romo and Dez back in order to get to 10-6...I just don't see it...Not the way this team is playing now...

Sure the Bills can get better...I'm 100% sure they will get healthier eventually because how can it get much worse? But I just don't hold out much hope for this team, this year...I know a lot of people are optimistic about the AFC currently, and being 3-3 right now...I look at it more like they should be 2-4 if it was not for a super conservative HC in Tennessee who basically gave us the game by not being more aggressive early on when they had the Bills D on the ropes...The Bills are just not very good right now...and the surprise to me is the Defense...I don't care how good the Offenses are that have carved them up...If you build a team around a Defense and they can't stop good Offenses at Home I don't think there is much hope...I really don't...

I feel like I've seen this movie before and I'm all out of optimism... B-)

My question is can the bills make the playoffs with a 10-6 record....which is right about where I have them.

    A couple of comments

    - I certainly am not going to blase you as I feel your one of the more level headed posters we have here

    - We are 3-3.....if we can find a way to crawl through this next game 4-3

    - The injuries on this team cannot just be disregrarded....people cannot say "yeah I know we have injuries but".....no....there is no BUT.....we are missing our top 2 wideouts......an extremely valuable RB........our OL coach has been out.......our starting safety......if we can just get through this next game players are going to start to come back

    - Our beginning schedule as far as facing good qbs has been pretty brutal......

There is lots of reasons for optomism if we can just get away from this injury bug......guys like Rambo will get better in the system with more playing time.....McKelvin is coming back.....

Its not over yet...not by a long shot
