  1. I will give EJ credit for nothing. That 2nd quarter yesterday was some of the worst football I have ever witnessed by a QB - at any level. He's not even close to being a rookie to have such an abomination of a performance. 27 points the Jags scored in the 2nd quarter, and the large majority of that was directly due to EJ. EJ was not able to hit his TE in stride, which should've been a TD if he had. EJ had a wide open WR in the end zone, and threw it 30yds over his head...that should've been another 6pts. He had a pick 6. He fumbled it for another 6. And then he also had another INT. It is impossible to play any worse than EJ did. Who the hell cares what he did after that. We lost. The comeback should've never had to happen to begin with against a crap team like the Jaguars. Look how many points the Texans put up on the Jags the week prior. The Texans.

EJ may be a great person but he is an abomination of a QB.

I have been supporting both TT and EJ before this weekend

There just comes a time when you have to see it for what it is.....EJ Manuel has everything you look for in a NFL QB......except for consistancy

I put up with erratic consistancy for years....yesterday he showed what happens when he is NOT extremely careful with the ball (over so)....three consecutive turnovers that killed us in a game we had to have

  2.

Durability is actually a player attribute. Its one the current GM really tries to "beat". An older McCoy, injured Kiko, Injured Harvin, Injured Karlos, Injured Cyril Richardson, are all examples of guys people thought Whaley was a genius for getting "value" on. Turns out they dropped in value because they aren't durable. Its part of the problem, not an excuse for other problems.

You know....I realize that bills fans are upset

    but

Blaming injuries on the GM just shows total lack of understanding of the game

I mean....if your looking to put a bullzeye on someone nobody is going to be able to stop that....but it is laughable

    - Sammy Watkins did not have injury issues in college......the injuries he is experiencing in the pros could not have been forseen.....and he STILL had a respectable rookie season despite injuries

    - McCoy is not that old...has not been injury prone in the past.....once again could not have been forseen

    - Harvin is the wildcard in this convo...he HAS had injuries in the past

    - Karlos was a fricken FIFTH ROUND PICK.......Whaley should be commended for finding a talent like that late rather then crucified...once again....injuries could not be forseen

    - Richardson....once again.....late round pick which Whaley should be commended on finding not crucified......a couple of notes on this.....Richardson was not getting hurt every game last year and 2nd round pick Kujo is actually looking just as good.........

YOU CANNOT PREDICT INJURIES.....to blame it on the GM is completely absurd

  3.

Enid might already be a Wolf.

As for last night's episode, how do we think Rick gets out of this? RV suddenly starts up?

I agree that if Glenn has somehow survived this it will be hard to rationalize.

In my opinion Glenn is not dead and given the way the writers have done so far not hard to rationalize

Idiot shoots himself in the head.....knocking both he and Glenn into the walkers

However idiot just seems to magically fall on top of Glenn in the fall (which clearly can be seen)

The entrails being shown are too high on Glenn's body to be his.....so you assume they are idiots

The fallen body of idiot.....being eaten by the walkers....and the mass of walkers that have moved in....are now covering glenns body....therefore masking him in much the way way Black Samuri chick cut the jawbone and arms off those two in previous years that form a "Walker forcefield" and also much the same way Carol used it when she helped at Terminus

Glenn......now invisible to the walkers.....crawls under the dumpster to safety.....not sure what happens from there

  4. Is your new argument that I don't know if Tyrod Taylor was exposed to film study, positional coaching, and developmental processes because I'm not a former member of the Raven coaching staff and current member of the Bills coaching staff?

    There is no new arguement

You talk about his development like you know what coaches think of it.

You cannot guage that from your couch

  5. You don't think I do, but I've seen enough that I'm more than comfortable with the evaluation given Tyrod's time in the league.

In Tyrod's 5th year in the league; after 5 years of film study, camps, development, positional coaching, and practice, I'd expect him to be able to read a defense pre-snap, get through progressions, change protection and play calls at the LOS, hit open receivers in space, make hot reads, have composure in the pocket, and not run into sacks.

But he can't. He's limited, and limited doesn't win in the NFL. That's all there is to it.

I did not realize you have been with the coaches at ravens and bills camp

    My bad

  6. EJ has not worked out

    but

I think it is important to note that the 1st round pick that year ACTUALLY yielded us EJ......and Kiko (or maybe it was woods and then kiko in the 2nd round)

    Then

Kiko (who was runner up rookie D player of the year) yielded us Shady McCoy in trade

but now....in itself the 1st round pick of EJ did not work out. It was a weak draft for QBs......and NONE of them have appeared to work out in that year.

  7. I should pretend that Tyrod is better than he is because I want the Bills to win?

While I'm at it, should I also pretend that it's December 24th because Christmas morning is my favorite time of year?

And should I pretend to have 20 million dollars, because I'd like to be wealthy and retired by 40?

the problem is you DONT know that

You dont...you might have an opinion that your projecting but imo there TT has not played enough games to make these definative statements.

  8. You're projecting.

I'd be thrilled if we had "The Guy" on our roster, because it would be nice to have a reasonable expectation of playing some meaningful football towards the end of the season.

Unfortunately I recognize that we have no chance of that.

If you really mean that then you should wait on these predictions

    - No new QB is coming in prior to that

    - Tyrod deserves the time to prove you wrong

  9. You don't remember it because it didn't happen.

No one wanted/wants Tyrod to fail.

Many of us simply recognize that he's a lousy quarterback, and hoped that EJ might have turned a corner. Unfortunately EJ didn't. Tyrod, as bad as he is, is the best player at his position on the roster. And that's why we finish 6-10 this year.

You do realize that is a just rewording of "I hope Tyrod Taylor fails so that I am right" dont you?

No poster except maybe a troll poster is gonna come right and and say "I really hope our starting qb fails"

  10. Jets will crush us because this offense, even with Tyrod sucks against good D. Dallas and Pats are also losses so unless 8-8 gets you in, it's probably over. Oh yeah, you also have to win the rest of the games just to get to 8-8. This team is way closer to 3-13 than 9-7.

We do not know what this offense looks like because it is missing so many players

  11. I mean there ya have it folks. I told you these guys exist. I don't even know if you're serious at this point.

For starters, the stuff you say about Taylor in your first paragraph- you couldn't do a better job of describing EJ Manuel! Taylor is already better at everything you alluded to after five games (don't care how many seasons he's been in the league, it means nothing) than EJ was after last week. Yet after last week, the verdict is already in on a guy who, after five games has already shown way more than Manuel has ever come close to showing- better numbers ta boot- and meanwhile, the jury was still out on a guy who completely sucks after 15 games. Why? Because Taylor was a sixth round pick and Manuel was a first round pick? That's the only logical explanation I can possibly come up with. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick and Jim Druckenmiller was a 1st round pick. Who cares? If Manuel was drafted in the 3rd/4th round where he should have been, would you feel different about him? No one watching these two men play football this season could possibly deduce that Manuel is a better QB or has the potential to be a better QB- whatever you wanna say. It's an insane point of view to possess.

And P.S. if we roll out Taylor, a healthy McCoy and a healthy Watkins each week, the Bills are 5-2. No doubt in my mind.

The arguement TTT makes is that Tyrod is a veteran of the NFL coming into Buffalo

It does not matter that he hasnt been a starter or even gotten much real live bullets playing time during those years because he sat behind a franchise QB that never comes off the field.......he should have all this live experience simply because he has been on a NFL roster

    Its a flawed argument.....

  12. That's the issue. One would think that if the injury was serious he'd be IRed, but that's not happening. That's what's leading many of us to infer that this is more of an issue of Harvin not wanting to play for the Bills anymore this year. He's probably dinged. He could probably play through it now or at some point this season at less than 100%. He'd probably rather shut it down and get healthy for his next contract. That would all make sense and be in line with his past behavior.

IF that is the case....we need to IR him immediately and trade for a WR or bring up Dez Lewis

  13. Tyrod Taylor is a lousy quarterback in his 5th year in the league. He has lousy pocket presence, is unable to read the field and get through progressions, and locks on to receivers. He leads the entire NFL in percentage of drives ending in 3 and outs. He is, quite clearly, not the answer at quarterback; unless of course the question is: who will lead the Bills to a 6-10 record.

That's the reason myself and others wanted to see what EJ might have developed into in year 3, which is when quarterbacks usually take some forward strides in their play. EJ looked to have taken strides as a pocket passer given his game performances in the pre-season. As poorly as Tyrod has been, a developed EJ was our best hope for making the playoffs.

Well, guess what? EJ hasn't developed as we had hoped. Last week he played poorly, and this week he was downright awful.

But you know what else? That's the worst possible outcome, because EJ Manuel turning the corner was the last best hope for this franchise in 2015, and now that we conclusively know that he hasn't, and that he's actually somehow worse than Tyrod, we know that our season is over.

Furthermore, we know that this entire team construction, with this dominate defensive line, and amazing array of weapons at the skilled positions on offense won't go to the playoffs. We have to go back into the draft, and start from scratch, and begin the whole process of trying to find "The Guy" again. The next 3-5 years are going to be nothing but rebuilding. Hell it may be longer than that, because we'll be a 6-10 team this year and for the next few years as well. Bad enough to make us all miserable, but too good to get us to the top of the draft to get "The Guy".

We're going to get to 20 years without sniffing the playoffs.

    Enjoy it.

    No

  14. Again, don't disagree. I will ask you the same thing as Big Cat, what has Rex done to show you that he is a good leader? This thread isn't about why we lost today.

It is hard for me to dial in on Rex Ryan the leader of the Buffalo Bills because he is in his first season

This is what I keep falling back to

In my opinion Rex Ryan was not hired because he has been a long tenored HC of the jets I think he got the job for 2 reasons

He has taken a jets team without a franchise QB to TWO AFC Championship games....so one game away from the Super Bowl....it actually hard to find those head coaching candidates with that kind of thing on their resume

    and

He has historically had very good defenses......and appears to have done more with less on those defenses.

    So

I ask myself......what worked then that is not working now? I am really interesting in hearing opinions on this because I think this is why Terry Pegula hired him.

  15. Of course I support EJ! I was rooting for the Bills as loudly and passionately today as I ever have. The TD pass to Easley was a freaking dime. But when you come on this site or call into WGR and tell everyone that Manuel is an upgrade, verdict's in: Taylor sucks, EJ might still have it, etc., you are no longer thinking rationally, you are operating off of a bias. Plain and simple. And I would certainly argue that those people are not "supporting" Tyrod Taylor. I hope they come around.

And Ryan L. Billz loves to point out "well Taylor sucked in the first half against NYG and Ten." OK, yes he did. Without McCoy or Watkins, but yes he did. Not sure how old you are but do you have any idea how many horrendous halves of football Jim Kelly played?? But I'll tell ya one thing- Manuel has never SNIFFED Taylor at his best. I am very much looking forward to seeing him develop further.

To me the bigger concern is who plays BEHIND Tyrod Taylor going forward and into the future (past this year)

Tyrod Taylor has frankly shown more "IT" then EJ Manuel has......while he is not YET your consistant pocket passer....one thing that is a very good FOOTBALL PLAYER.....

    but

Tyrod also plays a style of football that while I think he will continue to improve as he reaches his ceiling....he will always have problems betting dinged up with his style of play......its going to happen.....we should EXPECT it to happen much like Vick would miss games due to his style of play.

    so

We need a QB behind him.....not EJ Manuel....not Matt Cassel......a guy that can come in and look good for 2 to 3 games a year.

I DONT want to spend my 1st round pick on that guy.......this team has other needs.....

    Another Kiko Alonzo type linebacker

    Offensive Linemen

A safety/corner that can actually bounce back and forth between the positions so that there is not this huge drop off if Graham or Williams get dinged

  16. I'm with you. He ran his big mouth talking about having the greatest defense of all time, but when the chips were down facing Blake Bortles to close out the game, his defense turned into a folding chair. EJ sucks. EJ should not be an NFL QB. But the Bills had the lead at the end of the game. Rex's defense blew it. The PI call was a joke, but the Bills still had the lead after it was made.

This is on Rex and the defense.

This is NOT on the defense

It is on a QB who spotted them 2 touchdowns (literally) in the 1st half

  17. Yeah, gotta stop with the injury excuses. It's a part of the game and good teams prepare for injuries. If the true playoff caliber teams of the league, even wildcard level like the Rams, Jets, and Steelers, suffer injuries at the same level we've been dealing with I bet they'd still find a way to beat Jacksonville.

Im sorry but no......teams do not prepare for this many injuries
