1. they MUST win this weeks game for us.  MUST.  Classic defensive struggle, and the better defense will win period.

So, if our D is so good, they must shut down the Ravens, WITHOUT Jamal Lewis, WITHOUT Todd Heap, and with an inexperienced QB.  If they want to earn the rep that only Bills fans give them credit for being a top notch defense, they need to win us this game this week.

And this doesnt' mean give up 13 points and brag.  This means they cant' allow time consuming, field position drives.  Penalites that lose us field position.  Choking late against a offensively challenged NFL offense.

As a matter of fact, as scary as Baltimore's defense is, I hope we kickoff first and start the battle of field position right off of the bat.

We'll see if the D is for real or not this week.

THEY NEED TO WIN THIS GAME FOR US!

I agree, If Baltimore's offense converts 50%-60% of their 3rd-down conversions then we really suck. In order to stop time consuming drives, your defense must get off the field on 3rd-downs.

  2. They have 8 through 6 games and are a minus 5 in the category.  Some of that could be attributed to lacking playmakers.  It could merely be a coincidence but after watching Greggo for 3 years...

yeah, the minus 5 is magnified because the Redskins opponents have returned 4 or 5 turnovers for TD's. The fans are wondering why the 'Skins can't do the same?

  3. How about looking back to the 1999 draft. I remember people in Philly were giving death threats to the Eagles coaches because they drafted McNabb over Ricky. The fans have to eat crow now! Also, Polian took alot of heat for drafting Edge over Ricky. Edge came off an injury riddled college career and it was a total surprise to see him taken before the bong head.

    1) Cleveland -- Tim Couch, QB, Kentucky

    2) Philadelphia -- Donovan McNabb, QB, Syracuse

    3) Cincinnati -- Akili Smith, QB, Oregon

    4) Indianapolis -- Edgerrin James, RB, Miami

    5) New Orleans -- Ricky Williams, RB, Texas

St. Louis -- Torry Holt, WR, NC State

Washington -- Champ Baily, CB, Georgia

Chicago -- Cade McNown, QB, UCLA

Pittsburgh -- Troy Edwards, WR, Louisiana Tech

Kansas City -- John Tait, OT, Brigham Young

Tampa Bay -- Anthony McFarland, DT, LSU

Tennessee -- Jevon Kearse, DE/LB, Florida

  4. Listening to a DC area sports talk show yesterday, the radio heads all agreed that Greggo would be "one and done" in Washington much like Marvin Lewis was under Spurrier. Translation: GW will be a head coach somewhere next year. They said other NFL GM's have been so impressed with what GW has done with a very marginal defense (Lavar and Barrow have been hurt all year.....and defensive line was supposed to be weak).

Personally, I think he will be scrutinized much more than Marvin Lewis since he already failed once as a head coach. Also, the 'Skins have faced some weak offenses against Tampa, Chicago, Balt, Cleve, Dallas, Giants. No doubt GW has done a good job and you can tell he's learned alot from his days in Buffalo. Let's see what he does vs. St.Louis and Philly twice in the coming weeks.

  5. ouch, the best WR of all time gets you a 7th round pick in return. It was probably a kind gesture by Seattle since it would be embarrassing for Rice to get his outright release. Anyway, Koren Robinson has already dropped more passes this season than Rice dropped in his whole career. Pretty good move by Seattle.

  6. The astros were all but written off by the sports world 1 month ago!! They (Gammons) even said they would dump Beltran before seasons end! Now they are 1 game away from the series. Just shows you, its never over till its over. The astros have a mix of aging veterrans  and a few average rookies all stepping up. So, it CAN be done!! :o

Wow, you're really reaching for this one! At least try to make a comparison to another football team.

  7. I was listening to the steeler game on the radio yesterday and their announcer Myron Cope was going on and on about how the steelers could thank Jax for being able to draft Ben.  the reason being was that TD desperately wanted to trade with Jax to draft Ben ahead of the steelers and even Houston turned down a trade.

    75271

Yeah, i don't get Houston though. Like Dunta Robinson wouldn't have been available at 13? Those bastards cost us Big Ben. Again, i pray JP pans out but right now he would have to be incredible to pass Ben R. Manning & Rivers aren't even close either.

  8. I took a peek at the Ravens board. They don't seem too concerned about playing an "inferior" opponent at home without Jamal. They seem to think if Sammy Morris can gain 90 on Buffalo then their backup should easily eclipse that. They just don't want Boller to screw anything up by throwing picks. I can't say I blame them for being cocky. The Bills on the road don't scare anyone. Anyone think this can be like the Tennessee game last year where our offense actually comes alive out of nowhere? And I have no doubt their crummy O will find a way to move the ball on our Superstar laden defense.

  9. one more excellent thing about WM yesterday was when he would stay in and chip block Jason Taylor. On the crucial last drive, Taylor got around price on one pass play and WM was right there to manhandle Jason to the ground. That gave Drew time to hit Moulds on that short screen that turned into a 20+ yd play.

I still think Henry is being vastly underrated but I agree that you have to use WM as long as we're winning.

  10. Incorrect.  It was simply the first time he managed to sidestep the blitz.  He's had countless opportunites to do the same thing all season.

    74512

Correct. It's amazing what happens when he doesn't tuck his head down, curl up and go down like a little baby. If he keeps his head up and stays w/ the play he can sidestep alot of these pressures and get the ball off.

  11. If he is cut then fine. If I'm insubordinate at work I get fired. Winning in the NFL isn't about having all these "big names" anymore. It's about chemistry, teamwork and hard workers. If Fat Sam Adams isn't meshing or making plays anymore, then off with him!

  12. It's a shame. The guy is a very good RB. Unless Willis damages his knee again, TH will get traded. If I'm TH, I want to get as far away from Buffalo as possible the way I'm being portrayed. All he has to do is click on a message board, listen to sports talk radio...or read a newspaper and it's all negative news about him.

  13. Funny thing about GW here in DC. I was listening to a Redskins show on the radio and they talked about how good the defense is but they don't create many turnovers or score defensive TD's (Redskins opponents have scored at least one defensive TD in every game). Anyway, the commentator brought up an article in the paper that showed how GW's Bills teams were always a good D but never created turnovers. Somehow they were making the assumption that GW could not put a defense on the field that creates turnovers. Me personally...I think TO's are mostly luck and good fortune and have more to do with the players than the coaching.

  14. Not to be a buzzkill...Drew had a decent game BUT this is classic Drew. He has a good game, gets everyone excited ("see, Drew really is a big time QB...he just needs a little time back there and he can be great!"). Then he follows up with 2 or 3 really awful performances,,,especially on the road. Time will tell but I'm not getting snookered in again.

  15. Someone did this in a Monday night game a couple weeks ago. It was beautiful. Ball was not going out of bounds but the Kick returner picked it up on the 10 with one of his other legs stretched touching out of bounds. Bingo, ball on the 40. It's a great play when the kick returner knows the rule and it all comes together.
